3 nights at Backwoods Hideaway

Absolutely loved my stay at the Backwoods Hideaway! The perfect little spot to getaway! I loved listening to all the sounds of nature, rocking away on the porch encapsulated in a good book, reading by candlelight and listening to the whipporwills and sounds of the creek flowing falling to sleep! Couldn't asked for a better escape to relax and recharge! Thank you Aaron and family for opening up your lovely cabin for all to enjoy!

Weekend Trip to Big Laurel Ranch

The land (both forest and pasture) was beautiful and the hiking was spectacular! The hosts were very friendly and happy to help out when I needed something. I would absolutely return in the future

Such a cool place. So nice to be off-grid to just be in nature. I enjoyed putting my phone down and just hanging out by the creek. Felt like a good brain reset, and cabin was so cozy.

Craig’s Hipcamp was honestly perfect—super secluded, peaceful, and packed with adventure. It felt like having my own little slice of nature, totally off the grid. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with endless outdoor vibes, this is the place.

I loved the cozy cabin feel! It had a fire pit and grill which was perfect for making food :) There's a wood stove/heater inside to keep you warm on cooler nights. Recommend wearing hiking boots as getting to the cabin is a little bit of a trek. 5/5 would visit again.

Cozy little cabin on an absolutely breathtaking piece of land!! Especially with all the rain lately, the waterfalls were really flowing! The beds in the cabin were super comfortable and we all slept great. Liz and her husband were so nice and very helpful!!

Was a beautiful property tucked back in the foothills of the mountains with a creek rolling by all the time making a beautiful noise. Really enjoyed the snow and building a warm fire outside, going inside the cabin to warm up as needed and bird watching. The bed was amazing. Will definitely be back in the spring/summer. :)

I loved my winter night spent here! Perfect place to come and relax; we loved sitting by the fire and staying warm using the heater! The bed was super comfy and the outhouse was extra clean 🤩

Cozy little cabin surrounded by nature. We camped with our two little ones and two dogs and all fit comfortably inside. Everything was super clean and the amenities provided made our trip comfortable with the convenience of not having to pack all of our gear. It was pretty cold during our stay but we're provided with an abundance of blankets and the little heater run by a generator kept the cabin pretty toasty. We enjoyed exploring the creek that runs just outside the cabin and relaxing around the fire.

Backwoods Hideaway was beautiful, it was very private while always feeling very clean and homey, Aaron was incredibly kind and responsive. The outdoors shower was all hooked up for us and as easy as just turning the shower head on, having a clean and heated shower under the stars was perfect after sitting next to a fire with the stream rustling in the background. We can’t wait to return.

Had a great time with some friends at the sunset ridge tent site. Property was beautiful and lots of trails to explore. We went down to the creek to check out the caves and rock formations. Would highly recommend this site if you’re looking for a place to hike and explore.

The farm consists of 370 acres of bottomland pasture along the creek and quiet woodlands where you can explore jagged rock cliffs and beautiful vistas. Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife around but no hunting is allowed. Our designated tent sites do have firepits and picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. We are approximately 20 minutes from the nearest store so you'll want to come prepared. We are located in West Liberty (Morgan County). There is a centrally located bathhouse with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $15 per bundle and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is located at the tent sites), you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs.

Enjoy our private paradise with over 800 feet of riverfront on 17 acres along the banks of the beautiful Ohio River. We have a great landing for fishing, swimming, or kayaking. The sunsets are fantastic and the night sky incredible! Behold the barges passing by on the river as you unwind and relax in the peacefulness of nature! This is a primitive camp with three sites available for you to consider. We are dog friendly and allow all supervised, friendly dogs to be off leash. Some things to know: We will provide a key code close to your arrival time so you can enter the gate by the road. If you are coming by river, we will put a flag on our landing. You can drive your vehicle right down to the sites. The farm is flat and easily navigated as long as it is dry. There will be a 5 gallon cooler of potable water for you to use. More water is available if we are at the property. We have 2 outhouses located on either end of the property. This is a primitive camp. Please pack out all your trash and leave no trace. 2 kayaks with paddles and life jackets are available for an additional fee, but we need ample notice. Firewood is plentiful by the river in the form of driftwood. We have some wood under a black tarp by the pavilion fire pit available for an additional fee. We have one neighbor who can make some noise with ORVs especially on weekends.
