We enjoyed the lovely view, birds, sunset, access to the bike trail, and the hookup to electricity and water. After our bike ride we used the outdoor cold shower! The porta-potty was quite clean and odor-free. The site is closer to town than I expected and we had some noise from trucks and dogs, but mostly slept well.

RV site 1 has a streetlight adjacent so pick #2 if you’re looking for darker night. Fire pits are spacious and include a cooking grate. Pads relatively level and adjacent but not cramped. If I could give it stars, I’d give it a 10! Very simple, beautiful setting. Amy, the host was very responsive. I’m not sure August is the best time to visit. VERY hot and little shade. But we were in our RV, connected to power, so we could run our a/c, and once the sun went down, it was very pleasant outside. The shower is described as a cold water shower. It because of the weather, the water was hot for a couple of minutes, and even when it cooled down, it was quite nice, and what a setting! It would be fun to be there with people around, so we hope to come back during a more popular time to visit. Easy access to Emporia, and located right on the Flint Hills Trail. We highly recommend.
