We are on 7 beautiful acres in Baldwin City, KS. We're in town, but you'll feel like you're secluded in the country so you get the convenience of being close to downtown Baldwin, just 3 minutes away, while also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere peacefully camping, just you and the birds. Our "glamper" is a 1960's retro camper that has been fully restored. The outside still looks very retro, but when you step inside you'll instantly surrender to the relaxation that awaits. Sink into the pile of fluffy pillows, take in the breathtaking boho vibe and the many amenities including A/C and Heat, wifi, a microwave, television with Netflix, refrigerator, waterless toilet and hand-washing sink. Games and snacks are tucked away in the kitchen area for you to enjoy your leisurely time at The Nest! With a large deck on the front you can take in the views of a nearby pond and a meandering creek which serves as a wildlife highway. This peaceful countryside cabin has a nice little lake just right for fishing just steps from the front door from which folks have caught catfish, bluegill, crappie, and bass. The Appleton City Lake does not allow swimming. It does not allow boats with motors. However, you could bring a kayak if you wanted. We have a community fire pit and picnic tables too. The grill is electric with pellets. We provide firewood for the pit and pellets for the grill. Guest access We are a little over one mile down a level gravel road and just 3.5 miles total from the small town of Appleton City where we have a little restaurant, Caseys, a very nice little grocery store (closes 7 pm), coffee house (mon-sat 8 am-11 am), and Dollar General (closes 9 pm). I live nearby on the property and am available to greet you when you arrive. Other things to note Appleton City is a small town. If you are coming in late, you may want to stop on the way to pick up food. We have a few stores in town, but some folks are caught off guard to find out the stores close early. But Caseys has sandwiches and assorted quick items and is open until 11 pm.

Daniel is a cheerful, considerate host. I stayed in the Boho cabin on an unseasonably warm weekend. He had it clean and cooled off before I even got there. The cabin was clutter, free, cute and cozy. I really enjoyed the view of the land from the cabin. There is a firepit with free wood perfect for a fall evening and a starry sky. My dogs and I enjoyed hiking, ,petting the horses and exploring. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I hope to return with family members as this strikes me a place that’s beautiful all times of the year!

I had an incredible time staying here and cannot recommend it enough. The RV camper was exactly as described—if not better. I was able to unplug from the busy world but still have the comforts of home. It was so peaceful to sit or read by the water and watch the wildlife, and then when I got too hot I could return to the RV to cool off and enjoy some ice cream from the freezer. The hosts went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and ensured I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I loved the quiet atmosphere and the beautiful surrounding scenery. It was the perfect spot to unplug, relax, and star-gaze. I will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with me.

Super cute spot!! Lots of work has been put into their property- large pond. Ducks, nighttime lights to easily find/ see camper. They do stay on all night so bring a sleeping mask. Bed is small- perfect for 1 or 2 small adults. Camper has its own deck, hammock, chairs& table - perfect for HH drinks or AM ☕️ Inside camper- frig& freezer, coffee pot& microwave. Great spot & a true Glamping experience.

Amazing space very secluded. The cabin could sleep 4 as is. I would suggest bringing a twin size air mattress for the ancient futon. Cabin was somewhat clean, still better than a tent. Honestly well worth a visit.

This was my first time visiting Kansas and my stay at The Light Center made it so memorable. For making a cross country trip, this was an amazing place to settle for a couple of nights. Susan and the volunteers were very kind and welcoming. They made sure my time at their cabin was taken care of. I came with my little dog and we had such a calming experience exploring the forest trail on the property. It was absolutely beautiful and my favorite stop on my week long journey. I hope to visit again!

The land was fantastic even though the weather wasn't ideal for hiking and fires. There are a lot of cool places I would like to spend more time in on more favorable days. The barn is a great place to hang out during the rain, and I found the small library to be a great place to sit and read.

Annie was extremely kind. Very easy to navigate and we enjoyed our time there. Unfortunately the shower did not work but she was very hospitable, she stocked us with a pack of water bottles (we also brought our own water) and otherwise enjoyable time. Easy to bring friends there and good for a group setting to hang out. We were careful of poison ivy on property but easy enough to stay away from and if someone is looking to get away for the weekend definitely a good place to go!

Our stay at the Airstream was peaceful and lovely! It was an ideal stop on our bike adventure on the Katy Trail. Don and Elise are generous hosts! Our kids especially appreciated the snacks and games and campfire. We highly recommend this spot.
