EXTREMELY attentive, communicative, and kind hosts! Electric and water available. Basically, you'll back into one of the driveway spaces near thier garage to connect. The very unique silo swings, sitting area, fire pit, etc, are only steps from your door. The property is located just outside of town. Enough to provide the privacy and beauty of nature but close enough to get supplies within minutes. Unfortunately, the night I chose to book, the area experienced exceptionally high winds and I was unable to take advantage of the cool amenities provided. I barely slept due to my campervan rocking like I've never experienced before (obviously, no fault of the hosts). This was my very first stay using the Hipcamp app and oh boy, do I wish I'd have come across it sooner on my travels! I would highly recommend this spot, especially to families with small children, due to the reasonable rates and unique accommodations. Thank you!

The location was right off the highway but once you get to your spot the road noise was very minimal. Host was very accommodating for a very last minute booking (less than 2 hours warning with a 9pm arrival). Host was out of town but very responsive to messages and helped how she could, we are pretty low maintenance though. It was very windy in this area but I think if you only had a tent you could find some way to break the wind easily. There were other guests on the property but no problems arose and everyone kept to themselves. Bathroom/shower access was a huge plus. Also super friendly kitty cats on property. The parking was ample, the fire pit was awesome and this met all of our needs for backpacker car camping 👍🏽

This was a great choice for our fifth night. Laundry, shower, cool grain bin lounge and all the hook ups. The hosts were very nice and helpful. All this and we had it to ourselves. And, eclectic décor as well.

I stayed at the Fence Post in October, after water was shut off for the winter. HOWEVER, when I made the reservation, the host was very quick to tell me this… so I was prepared! Kathy was great about giving instructions to get to the spot (make sure you don’t come in too close to the building!), and how to leave if backing up was a problem. The area behind me was very spacious so it was “easy” to back out and drive out! ( I say “easy,” because I’m new at travel trailering and backing up isn’t ever really easy for me - yet!!). I was very pleased with how level it was - from a picture I had seen, I didn’t expect that! Woo hoo! Lots of green space available to walk the dogs. This was a one-night stay - just passing through. I noted that others discussed traffic noise. It is true, it is not too far off the road BUT, I didn’t hear a thing (& I didn’t have tv or music on!!)! I am happy to recommend it to other hipcampers! Perfect stop right off of I29! Jenice offered unbelievable hospitality and is just the sweetest ever. We loved the multiple bathroom amenities, and the grainzebo was the coolest hangout spot!

A hidden gem! The sweetest couple welcomed us with open arms. We were the only guests, so we had our own private oasis. Full hookups, bathrooms, laundry, wifi, grill, and the cutest “grain-zebo”. They even assisted us in filling up a flat tire. Would highly recommended!

Wonderful little spot away from the busy highway, but close enough to hop right back on when you’re ready to go.
Kelly and Jenices’s land was beautiful and they were wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating and had everything we needed and more! We made use of the large yard to play frisbee with our dog and the silo gazebo to relax on a beautiful day!

If you’re looking for a nice spot to get some sleep in South East South Dakota, this is it. I was parked behind the barn. Lots of privacy. Also a fair amount of bugs but it was summer and next to a corn field so no surprise. Bring earplugs because the cows on the other side of the field could get noisy. And the occasional train might make its presence known. Again, earplugs took care of everything and I got a great night’s sleep. I’d stay here again. Thanks Kelley!

We had an amazing stay here! The hosts are so kind and accommodating and great with communication. This is probably one of the best hipcamp experiences we have had, and we have stayed at several across the country. The property is plenty spacious, with all of the amenities you could need, including a unique gazebo area that was custom built by the owner. If we are ever in the area in the future, we would definitely stay here again. 10/ 10 recommend!

What a gem! Noreen was incredibly welcoming and upon arrival showed us around the gorgeous property. There was everything from a shower to a pergola to relaxing swings and plenty of peaceful areas with the backdrop of a cornfield privacy ‘hedge’. She offers various accommodations but we never even saw the other guests despite being on the same piece of property. The ranch can also be used as a wedding venue and that must be spectacular as well!

This was such a wonderful, unexpected stop on our trip west. This is a beautiful area and the property itself is full of charm; especially the grainzebo, and outhouse. The hosts were fantastic, and amenities are fresh and clean. Definitely somewhere I would visit again, and recommend you do too!
