Threshold Learning Center is 28 acres of prairie, creek, woods, and our barn dormitory. Threshold is first, an outdoor learning center for schools during the school year, and a summer camp offering several day camps, family camps, and trips. As a non-profit, however, we are constantly trying to find a way to offer our programs to everyone regardless of whether they are able to pay our fees while still making enough money to stay open. We started renting TLC to the public 5 years ago for weddings, reunions, or just families who are looking to connect to the world around them. Our motto is "No Child Left Inside" and we want every inner child to enjoy what we have at TLC. We have 7 bedrooms in our dormitory, 5 camp sites, a large camp fire ring, a mini-golf course, and we are always willing to lead your group in an educational experience or take you on a hayrack ride.

We love animals, plants, art, and outdoor recreation and love sharing these things with people! We found the perfect little plot for all of these things we love. Nature, art, animals, and lots of space! The hilly, lush land is also known as the Bohemie Alps and it's quite a beautiful area tucked away in Iowa.
Visit with the llamas, goats, peacocks, potbelly pigs and the horses and hike around the property or stay in for a quiet stay with a good book and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Lots of extra 'add ons' to enhance the experience, like a waffle bar kit, smore's package, hikes, and more!
Semi wooded property with hiking trails, hammocks, aerial silks, campfire pit. 5 mi away is Otter Creek Lake, a recreational park for fishing, kayaking, swimming, etc. We have 2 kayaks available. So much to do! Also perfect to just relax, meditate, yoga, sleep...

Weekend Trip to Windy Goat Acres
We absolutely loved our time at Windy Goat Acres! Every corner of the property was enchanting and creative. Jim and Jessie were amazing hosts. Incredibly communicative and were eager to share their passion for their animals. We got to spend a lot of time interacting with the animals (goats, pigs, llama, emu, rabbits, horses, barn cats, peacocks, ducks and chickens) and they were all super friendly. Jim was an awesome bartender at the garden pop up bar. The tiny house was well equipped with all the essentials and nearby an indoor restroom. We can’t wait for our next stay!

Windy Goat Acres is such a cute and quaint farm. My friend and I stayed in the tiny cabin, although there are larger cabins and yurts available to rent. The tiny cabin was perfect for a quick weekend getaway for the two of us and my small dog. There is quite the variety of animals on the farm that made for a unique trip as well. The hosts were very nice, very responsive to texts, and gave us privacy.

WONDERFUL FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE WITH HIP CAMP!!! Ryan’s family was the bonus on top of amazing camp sites and beautiful countryside.
We loved everything about our 1 night stay, and we will be back! Clean, pristine grounds, pickleball, walking trails. A fire was already started and Ryan’s came out to share snores with us! Loved their pups! The tree farm and we bought fresh sweet corn to take with us!

Passing through Iowa we found Dillon Tree farm to supplement us with water & electric. Family friendly, family owned business. Quiet off off the highway between US-65 and I-35.
Nice place to have some peace a quiet overnight. We were the only ones that night but spots are spaced very well.
Highly recommend if you need a quiet, safe place for the night.

We’ve been traveling for over a month in our RV. So far The Tree Farm is our favorite stay! The property is stunning and easily accessed. There’s plenty of room and lots of walking paths, if you’re so inclined. Ryan and his family are very kind and responsive. There was a giant thunderstorm during our stay. This was the perfect place to ride it out. Ryan even offered us refuge should the storm get to gnarly! Also, if you need to dump your tanks, there is a little free dump station in the town of Iowa Falls, just as you enter the town. It’s in a little park next to the National Guard armory, only a few miles away.

We had a great visit to Windy Goat Acres!! Friendly and helpful hosts, so many animals to watch and pet- both farm animals and kitties. ♥️ The baby goats and friendly pigs were also so sweet, and we had a great time feeding and walking the llamas around the property (thanks Jess!). So many fun surprises around the land and lots of opportunity for photos! We loved how close the tiny cabin was to both the animals, brick oven and shower/bathroom. While using the brick oven shortly after sunset, the cutest orange kitty popped out of the hobbit garden and hung out with us for about an hour and gave us lots of cuddles. ♥️ In the morning we received the waffle basket and were so impressed!! This was the perfect way to end our camping weekend and we will be recommending it to everyone we know. We hope to be back soon!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Windy Goat Acres! This was our 3rd time staying at the retreat cabin. The weather was a little on the colder side, so we didn't get to enjoy the farm as much as we would've liked, but otherwise we both left feeling completely serene. I highly recommend Windy Goat Acres!
