Discover a hidden gem at our RV park, which reopened on July 1, 2018, after several years of closure. This unique destination offers daily, weekly, and seasonal rentals for RV sites, cottages, and tent sites, making it the perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.
The new ownership team is dedicated to revitalizing the park, and significant upgrades have already been made. The beach has been extended with fresh sand, and the beach bar and restaurant are now open for guests to enjoy. Our office now offers carryout beer, alcohol, Dippin’ Dots, and convenience store items. Currently, 29 cabins are available for rent, with 12 having undergone complete renovations. Additionally, a new boat ramp and piers have been installed, along with 21 covered boat lifts available for rent, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the park.
While the two-story banquet hall remains closed and boarded up, plans for future renovations are in the works. Over the next few years, we aim to renovate more cottages, with 12 already updated. Although both bathhouses are operational, they are in need of improvements, and we plan to renovate the lower village bathhouse by the end of the 2025 season. Currently, we offer 43 daily,

The lake was gorgeous and the kids loved swimming in it. The cabin was clean and beautiful. Dwight and his wife were very kind and welcoming people. My kids already want to know when we can go back!

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Campground
I was looking for a location close to Terre Haute where we could decompress after an outdoor workshop with my dog that ran a full weekend. I had previously stayed in the local hotels, but wanted something with space, quiet, and most of the standard comforts.
I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the cabin on the first night that there was a/c. I must have not read carefully because I was ready for a humid evening, but the a/c was on and the cabin felt great! The fridge was big enough for my meals, the microwave was full size and heated up morning coffee in a jiffy. Everything was clean and organized. Bed was comfy, but honestly I’m not too picky — especially after working outdoors for 10 hours. I also don’t mind an outhouse, even when it rained for a brief period. The short distance had a nice big tree that provided cover most of the way.
The owner met me as we were unpacking and went over the form. And we had a quick chat about my weekend, and he made sure we had everything we needed.

Dwight and Happy Camper is friendly and hospitable. The cabin a clean, quant and quiet getaway with tons of charm. We have been to the cabin a few times and enjoy fishing in the pond and fire pit. If you’re looking for Hoosier corn fields with the sounds of chicken and ducks in the background, check it out. Would recommend. Kevin and Michelle

Where to start with this review??
The directions to get there were easy to navigate, and communication with Dwight was super easy.
The location was absolutely beautiful, and serene. The cabin was super comfortable. The site had many amenities that our children loved. The adults favorite was the firepit, the kids loved the access to the boat and the rocking chairs on the porch. Watching the ducks and rooster and making up stories of their antics was a close 2nd.
We were only there for a couple of days but we are excited to come back next year.

This is such a cool campground! The cabin is perfect, and we loved that there weren't hundreds of other campers. This is small campground that obviously focuses on customer service. Dwight is a top-notch host. I highly recommend the cabin and this campground.

I absolutely loved camping on Dwight’s land. Dwight and his wife are absolutely amazing people. They were very helpful with everything his wife even offered us life jackets and floaties so that we could go swimming in the pond and on a very hot day it was very helpful. I honestly would live there if I could haha. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dwight and Happy Campers as a place for a peaceful getaway,and I definitely will be back very soon

my family & i loved Dwight's place! we booked the day of & were greeted when we arrived to the cabin on the property. cabin was very clean & oh so cozy w. a beautiful view of the pond on site. my son did some pretty good fishing, room to walk the dog around & probably the cleanest outhouse i've been in to date!
