Small hobby sheep farm, with a sheep pasture surrounded by woods. There are two shepherd's huts, three tent sites, a small fishing pond with a log cabin and a quarter of a mile hiking trail. It is a bird lovers paradise with a large variety of birds. The fisherman's cabin has electricity and AC (AC is new for 2026 season). The shepherd's huts and tent sites are off grid. Each site is very private and has a fire ring and picnic table and benches. Cabin has a queen and a twin bed, linens provided. Shephard's huts have a queen sized memory foam mat with linens. Shower hut has hot water and is shared with all the campers.

Our Cabin # 2 “Old Phil” Is located on the west side of the lake in a 15 acre woods. About 1-1/2 miles away is Our cabin # 1 “Little Elk” Is located near the little Elkhart River. Nestled in its own 10 acre woods. Both of these properties are primitive ( no running water in an out house for a bathroom). Firewood is provided and there are trails in the woods to walk. The Mirror lake property has been a family farm for over 185 years. There is a family cemetery that dates to 1832. If you want to be around a lot of people in the fast track this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, tranquil, social distance but still enjoyed this is the place for you!

The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Take your boat out for a day of fishing or just chill next to the fire.  Sites are approximately 50 feet from each other. If you want privacy we suggest you book both.

I become owner of this property in 2017. The cabins were built in the late 90's financed by the previous owner. The property was vacant for decades prior to that. In the 1950's, the property was a drive-in motel called the 'Harbert Motel'. We have an arial photo from this time period which showed a number of small bungalows for guests, each with its own carport. I love all the stories I hear from locals who have been around long enough to remember how things 'used to be'. Southwest Michigan has an interesting history and has been a 'destination' from city dwellers for close to 100 years. A quick story: When I was a kid, one of my dad’s best friends’ parents let us use about 20 acres of their farm and woods, where we set up a little campground. We had a small camper, tents, a fire pit, and a track out in the woods where we rode dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and side-by-sides. Weekend Trip to K.O.H.O.E.

On our first visit to KOHOA, we stayed at the purple house, which has an incredible view of the river below. The accommodations were just what we needed for our son and dog: clean with lots of space, a tv for a movies during the rain, a great fire pit area with room to spread. Each of the sites at this property have a good distance between them so it felt private for us. It was a great area to explore with my son who enjoyed searching for animals like red squirrels and frogs. While my family and I live in Chicago, we often look for stays in southwest Michigan. We enjoyed our proximity to Michigan's coast. This time it meant going to Holland for the start of their tulip season and festivities, but we were also so close to Benton Harbor and St Joseph.

We're already planning our next trip back to Camp David! Perfect spot on the river, and David has thought of everything a guest might need. Better than any hotel - we loved our long weekend here. If you like antiquing there are some fun spots in Rochester about 7 minutes away, along with some great restaurants! Even with some rain, we were able to kick back and relax. Can't wait to stay here again!

We booked with Dean and Nancy for New Year's and had such a lovely stay! It was quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. There is heating, hot water in the detached bath, and ample space for infant equipment and our bassinet. It was some of the prettiest lodging I've ever seen, especially all decked out in seasonal decor. 10/10, plus bonus points for the free snacks and coffee, tea and cocoa.

David is very welcoming and accommodating. His place is very cozy with and has everything you need. I couldn’t think of a better place to unplug and decompress .

Weekend Trip to Mirror Lake Bunkhouse llc

We loved Kathy's place, the small cabin is surrounded by trees. The lake is close and had a very nice view, there are trails for hiking. Our stay was quiet and relaxed and that was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you.

Lake Nicholas. 12 acre totally private lake with great fishing. 36 feet deep.

Weekend Trip to Have A Lake Of Your Own!

Great spot. We were the only cabin, so lots of privacy and the bathroom to ourselves. We rented a canoe and purchased firewood, they were ready and waiting upon our arrival. Lake was great to canoe around. Trail loop was short and sweet, but a nice walk through the woods. Seeing the horse get let out in the afternoon was really nice.
