We live off of a gorgeous winding tree lined road between Knightstown and Carthage. Our property has several options for you to tent camp or we can accommodate large RVs. Electric will be supplied via extension cord and we can provide well water to fill your tank or a hose from our pump for you to use as needed. We own 10 acres with a pasture of wild flowers, chickens, and several varieties of trees. The surrounding 100 acres along Big Blue River is owned by our family and available for your enjoyment. Kayaking, hiking, bird watching, swimming and just relaxing! We hope we can be a quiet spot for your travels thru the midwest. We are 30 minutes from Indianapolis, 20 minutes to a gorgeous lake and mountain bike trail and Knightstown has several quaint shops and antique venues for you to enjoy! Please keep all animals on a leash or contained. We do live in the midst of cornfields and forest where racoons, opossums and our pets live. We have outdoor kitties Reginald is a big gray boy who will try to climb your leg if you stand still long enough! lol Abigail is our outdoor pooch and she does like to roam outside during the day. We also have a new to our farm rescued Great Pyreneese that is adjusting! She is in an enclosed pen behind our barn and should'nt cause you any trouble. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or you can book both sites. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

No official "cooking area" - bring a grill, cooking stove or cook over the fire. Please do not cook under any roof, near cabin or on plastic table. Please pack all your trash out. We don't have trash pick up here. All dog/animals feces can be flung in the field/tall grass! Lots of big catfish, bass & bluegill - see our F B page for videos of the fish being fed! If you're done fishing for the night or don't fish, bags of fish food are available for $1! It's fun to watch them! All food is stored in containers in shack. They like to eat in the morning or early evening. Also like hot dogs. Tina and Ron are awesome hosts with a great location - just far enough off the beaten path, but still convenient for travelers passing through for one night on a road trip. I was a same day reservation and communication was top notch. I knew before I arrived that I had made the right choice. Ron met me upon my arrival and directed me to my site. Had a wonderful night’s sleep in a peaceful location. I will definitely stay here again when I am passing through this part of Indiana. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a great time staying at Harbour park. The site was awesome, private and secluded. Tim had full hookups available making it super convenient. It was a great break from our busy trip just sitting and relaxing next to the river drinking coffee watching the rowing crews and boats go by. Attended a concert at Riverbend and this site was 1 mile away. Loved watching the riverboats during the day, and the concert was an easy 20 minute walk. Only a couple of blocks into town and a few restaurants, one of which was a great BBQ place.. Site was quiet and secluded, yet close to everything.

Nice quiet place - until sunup when the chickens start to squawking. But really that’s part of the attraction. Site was nice with a fire ring and a relaxing view. Once dark the fireflies came out and it was really cool. The trip from the highway to Tina’s was interesting in itself and showed us a part of Indiana we didn’t know existed. We stopped for a quick overnight on our way west and it worked perfect for us.

The view is beautiful and really great places to eat within biking/walking distance. Especially recommend Pig Candy at the entry to Eldorado St. The site has a “cabin” with a working toilet but the shower has no hot water. Polly was accessible with any concerns and we absolutely enjoyed our stay.

Excellent quiet spot directly on the river. Be aware that the Google directions aren't exactly correct, but Polly's instructions were spot on. The land is sloped towards the river but there is adequate flat space for a tent or more and trees enough for two hammocks. The house on the property is very sparse so expect to bring all camping needs aside from a table, chairs, and running water. The site is about a 15 minute walk to Riverbend with a paved sidewalk the whole way. The property does not have direct access to the river but it looks like the area does. Polly was super responsive to messages and very easy to work with. We will be back for future concerts and waterfront enjoyment!

Weekend Trip to Lazy Acres

We went as a group with like 23 people and we had a really good time! The host was amazing, really nice and helpful whenever we needed it. He brought us the firewood that we bought for a very fair price to our campsite and the port a potty was the cleanest port a potty I have ever been in for sure. There was a lot of stuff for our kids to play on ie, swing, playset etc. and there was plenty of space for our group to be a bit spread out but still have a communal place to be together as well. It was really quiet and not crowded since we rented out the whole area on the far side of the creek which was not far at all from our cars! All of my group liked this location and we would like to come back sometime again in the future. 😁

Polly’s land right on the bank of the Ohio River had recently flooded. It was still beautiful and peaceful. We appreciated that Polly made a special trip to help us with a lock and key issue , on a rainy Friday night! The carport shelter was great in the rain, camping in our van.
