Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. We do provide a large trash bin near the porta potties for trash disposal. DO NOT throw trash into fire pits or burn barrels in the woods. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you CANNOT drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! I had a great experience at The Hollow at Cattail Springs! I was the only one onsite during my time there, so I had the whole place available to me. There was plenty of firewood so the fire stayed hot, I had complete access to the pond, and I had ample time of solitude which I was after. I couldn't recommend booking through Cole enough! He was there waiting for me when I arrived and was like talking to someone I had known for a long time. Thanks for the hospitality!

This was my first camping experience and I couldn't have picked a better place. The property is absolutely stunning! I can't wait to return in the summer, but I'm so glad we got to see the fall colors. Such a short walk to the river, which is just gorgeous. The cabin was perfect for us. The wood stove and water system were super easy to use and having a TV was a cherry on top! Lol. There were little touches everywhere of things that were either helpful or just plain charming. My main concern, being a first-timer was safety and that box was definitely checked. It's a perfect spot for a couple, a family with children or a group of college kids. We just left and I can't say enough. Thanks, Marla, for an amazing time!

4 nights at The Firefly Nest

Our 2nd stay was fantastic like our first! This time it was a bit chilly at night. A efficient space heater was supplied. It kept the tent toasty! We also noticed a update to the fire pit! It worked fabulously for our camp cooking needs as well as enjoyable warm campfire nights. The fall leaves were beautiful and still provided a private camp experience. Love the attention to detail provided by Tim (host). Thankful for great hosts willing to share their property for hipcamp customers!

2 nights at Creekwood Cottage

We really enjoyed staying at Creekside. Ariel is an outstanding hostess and was very helpful. The cottage is adorable and comfortable. Since we went in October, we did not need to use the AC or the heater. If I had to find anything at all to criticize, it’s that there’s no running water, so be sure to bring plenty of water to douse your fire at the end of the night. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant place to stay for getting away from the sound of the Interstate in your backyard. There’s plenty of dining options nearby (we decided to try Mr. Weenie.) There was a well stocked grocery just a bit further down from the drive in. If you bring your dog(s) be prepared for them to get anxious when the coyotes come out at night.

This is the second time I have stayed at the cabin and both times have been an amazing experience! The amenities offered are amazing! I felt connected to the outdoors while still being able to enjoy the comforts of a clean and well supplied facility! A great way to get away for the weekend without all the hassles of traditional tent camping. A great way to dip your toe into camping before going all out into a tent.

We absolutely loved our 1st glamping stay! All other glamping must live up to this! It will be a high bar. You can tell the host put their love for camping into every detail. Can't wait for our future planned stays! Privacy: Summer: Very private with large trees and green all around. Host: Tim was so responsive to all my messages before during and post stay. Tent: Clean, comfortable. Multiple outlets. I loved having the view of the sky in the tent. Slept very good! Bathroom: Clean, hot water, good water pressure. It's a working bathroom in the middle of a private camp! Outdoor site: All mulch easy to keep clean. Effective fire pit and cook surface. Plenty of dry wood for use. Loved the hammocks available to hang. Nicely lit for easy use. Multiple electric outlets. 2 pie makers, and grill basket. Must bring: Towels Sheets Pillows Blankets Cookware Bathroom supplies Dish soap Location : Private, not much to do close by. That's a positive to me. We did enjoy a 20 min drive to bike the rivergreen way and enjoy some fantastic BBQ at Soul Pig. Just book it you won't be disappointed!

Looked exactly like the pictures…the lights were on when we arrived as it was already dark and lit up. The directions were clear and the site was easy to find. Every detail was taken into careful consideration. Bug spray, hammocks, seating, nightstands, a/c (which we didn’t need!) it was super cute and cozy! Loved having a fully functional bathroom. We will definitely return if we are ever back in the area. Thank you! Oh, and we absolutely loved the Firefly Coffee Shop. We chose it to stick with the theme of the Hipcamp. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Cattail Springs

The landscape here is beautiful. Lots of wetland life. This particular campsite is great for car and tent camping. Easy in easy out. Near toilet. One side is small rocks the other side is soil. The soil can become mud with heavy rain but as Cole and Janel further develop their camp each week it’s getting better and better. They put lots of passion into their work and are super great hosts. The week I was there they were installing a stream that runs from the top of the hill to the pond. What a cool feature and this will help mask the sound of the highway.
