Our property is located north of Rockville, Indiana, in beautiful Parke County, right off Highway 41. Nestled in a quiet ravine, it offers a peaceful getaway close to local attractions. My husband and I live on site. We love to have guests, but still like to make sure that guests are comfortable. We try to only have a few families at a time. Our property has been a local campground since the 1970’s; we bought the property a few years ago and built a home. We now want to share our love for the property with others.
Turkey Run State Park and Shades State Park are just a few miles away, and kayaking or canoeing is available down the road. The area is famous for its 30+ beautiful covered bridges, as well as local Amish shops and food stands. Rockville itself has several charming coffee shops and unique shopping spots.
On-site, our property features walking trails, a his-and-hers bathhouse with toilets and showers, and a covered picnic area for you to enjoy. We are also within 30 minutes of Bridgeton and Mansfield—perfect if you’re visiting for the amazing Bridge Festival. We provide fire pits and firewood for your convenience. We have many spots on our property that you could choose to tent camp. We do also have some electrical units for campers. Electric is available to tent campers just let us know when booking.

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Campground
I was looking for a location close to Terre Haute where we could decompress after an outdoor workshop with my dog that ran a full weekend. I had previously stayed in the local hotels, but wanted something with space, quiet, and most of the standard comforts.
I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the cabin on the first night that there was a/c. I must have not read carefully because I was ready for a humid evening, but the a/c was on and the cabin felt great! The fridge was big enough for my meals, the microwave was full size and heated up morning coffee in a jiffy. Everything was clean and organized. Bed was comfy, but honestly I’m not too picky — especially after working outdoors for 10 hours. I also don’t mind an outhouse, even when it rained for a brief period. The short distance had a nice big tree that provided cover most of the way.
The owner met me as we were unpacking and went over the form. And we had a quick chat about my weekend, and he made sure we had everything we needed.
Highly recommend!

Dwight and Happy Camper is friendly and hospitable. The cabin a clean, quant and quiet getaway with tons of charm. We have been to the cabin a few times and enjoy fishing in the pond and fire pit. Where to start with this review??
The directions to get there were easy to navigate, and communication with Dwight was super easy.
The location was absolutely beautiful, and serene. The cabin was super comfortable. The site had many amenities that our children loved. The adults favorite was the firepit, the kids loved the access to the boat and the rocking chairs on the porch. Watching the ducks and rooster and making up stories of their antics was a close 2nd.
We were only there for a couple of days but we are excited to come back next year.

This is such a cool campground! The cabin is perfect, and we loved that there weren't hundreds of other campers. This is small campground that obviously focuses on customer service. Dwight is a top-notch host. I highly recommend the cabin and this campground.

I absolutely loved camping on Dwight’s land. Dwight and his wife are absolutely amazing people. They were very helpful with everything his wife even offered us life jackets and floaties so that we could go swimming in the pond and on a very hot day it was very helpful. I honestly would live there if I could haha. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dwight and Happy Campers as a place for a peaceful getaway,and I definitely will be back very soon

We absolutely LOVED this place! The cabin was impeccably clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We came with our 2 year old and she had so much fun on the farm. It is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to and the animals were so sweet. Not to mention, best hosts ever. We will definitely be back!

my family & i loved Dwight's place! we booked the day of & were greeted when we arrived to the cabin on the property. cabin was very clean & oh so cozy w. a beautiful view of the pond on site. my son did some pretty good fishing, room to walk the dog around & probably the cleanest outhouse i've been in to date!

I wanted my husband and my 3 year old experience a part of my childhood (being on my aunts farm in Poland) of being on the farm with animals. Especially getting to meet all the animals. Jennifer’s and Forrest farm did just that to the T! We all had so much fun! Jennifer and Forrest were so patient with our very active boy. They did a great job explaining their routine, explaining about the animals and allowed us to help and get dirty! They love their animals very much and take great care of them! The chickens and ducks walking around brought the whole farm together and the cats were so friendly and playful! The cottage was clean, homey and just enough for us! The land is beautiful and we were able to take a walk through the fields and take some great pictures! This weekend was a great weekend away from the city life. I even sat outside once the sun went down and enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sky full of stars! We will def be back again!!

My family really enjoyed the cabin. The scenery is breathtaking, it's quiet and the pond has great fishing. Dwight was very pleasant and answered all of our questions. This was my first hipcamp experience, and he made it wonderful. 10/10 would recommend. We can't wait to stay over again. Book it! You will not be disappointed.
