We stayed here as a stopover and couldn’t have been more pleased. The RV park is well-kept and easy to access, making it a perfect place to rest during a travel day. One of the best camp sites we’ve ever had. Pull in site. Water pressure was great. Dump tank pipe was perfect distance. Campground was very clean and quiet. The point is by far the best site in the camp ground. Water on 3 sides. If we didn’t live 6 hours away, we would camp here every weekend. Very level site. Gavel pad. Fire ring is small, but portable. We never saw the host. Local PD drove through a few times. New Athens Police cheif said they never have issues in the campground. 10/10 would recommend.

Love the quiet place on the river. The Point spot was beautiful in you had your own little peninsula. There is a fire pit available on the end. The only odd thing was that for the hook ups they are on a side that you will have to pull into. We actually pulled in on the side to pack into. Apparently it was the side that was not intended for us.
Still it’s an amazing place to stay. I don’t know that we would be back in the area but would happily stay again.

For our very short stay (few hours) this spot was everything we needed. It was close to town and not too far from the interstate. The only problem I had with the location is the bar next door. We had a light sleeper with us on the trip who was unable to sleep because of the loud music. Any other day this probably wouldn’t have bothered me but we were on a long trip and everyone needed sleep as we were all taking turns driving.

The view is really pretty and you're close to several local wineries. The sites are big and easy to get in/out of even for big rigs. My biggest complaint is that not all sites that are advertised to have septic hook up actually have septic. Most of the pull through sites have a cap blocking off the connection. I reached out to the owner and they were very unresponsive/unhelpful. I ended up backing into another spot and dumping my tank there before I left -- I hope that was ok, but I couldn't wait an additional 2 days for a response and needed to empty my tanks before my next stop. They also say you need a parking pass in your car, but they expect you to print it yourself. Like many people on the road, I don't have a printer in my camper. I didn't have any issue but I was only there for the weekend.

We needed a place to stay while we got our toad installed. Found this place in New Athens just 20 minutes from the shop. The campground is directly on the Kaskaskia river, next to the town marina. It is maintained by the city. They have full hookups, however the water is turned off for the winter. There is a faucet that remains open for filling up your tank. We were one of two RVs in the park. It was very quiet and peaceful. Our dogs were able to be off leash since they were the only ones. The superintendent of the town was the host. He was friendly and responsive. We will be happy to stay there again sometime.
