Yonder Hills Disc Golf and Camping

134 sites · RVs, Tents34 acres · St. John, WA
Yonder Hills invites you to play and stay on a fourth-generation family farm-park aptly named the Oasis, located in the rolling hills of the Palouse country in eastern Washington State. The Oasis is 34-acres of lawns, shade trees and natural landscaping (over 50 years in the making) with ample space to spread out and community areas to socialize. This is a perfect basecamp to relax and unwind. Read in the lawn. Cook over the fire. Explore the Palouse. Have a little gathering of friends and make memories on the farm. It's also a great place to be creative. Guests may have seasonal campfires at select sites and firewood can be provided for the community fire pit if requested. Yonder Hills is also great for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for many vans and tailgate camping. Please contact us to request a reservation for a reunion, wedding, private party, disc golf tournament, or concert. There are no dedicated electrical hookups, sewage hookups, or potable water available at this time. Bottled or bulk water is available in in St. John five miles away. Shower or washing water from the well is available onsite. Electrical outlets in the gravel parking area can be used to charge small devices. We are constantly upgrading the property, so look forward to more and better amenities all the time. Yonder Hills Disc Golf Course is a private 18 and 9-basket course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes. Reservations must be made to enjoy this private course. Please note: The course is "closed" due to some layout changes that we wanted to make during the barn restoration. It's still playable, just listed as closed while work is in progress. LOCAL SURROUNDINGS St. John has a bar/restaurant, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, lakes, rivers/creeks, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. Come for the abundant stars, the fall colors and brisk air, to socialize with other travelers, or to find the peace of the Palouse country.

Camp Tyler - Cheap, Functional

4 sites · RVs2 acres · Lacrosse, WA
Camp Tyler Dusty is a 2.5 acre area at the junction of highway 26 and 127 in Whitman County, WA. This location is in the heart of the palúspam territory, the traditional lands of the Palus tribe of Indigenous Americans*. There is a quonset hut on the property which used to be operated as the "Dusty Country Store." The Tylers bought the site in 2021 to use as a Van Life campground. It's been renamed "Camp Tyler" but we haven't yet changed the signs. We have six 50 amp plug ins but are still working to get the water back to potable (lots of nitrates in this farming county's ground water!). We have a vending machine with drinks, chips, and candy available 24/7. There is a store next door that has propane, some hardware, gasoline. There is a rest area a little over a mile away by either highway or back road. That rest area has two toilets but no running water. About 12 miles away (to the west) is the town of Lacrosse - where there is a grocery store, bank, cafe, gas station, and an RV dump station. About 16 miles to the east is Colfax, which is a town with lots of businesses and services. We have working bathrooms inside the quonset hut and are currently working out the details to get a vendor to provide coffee and snacks. When Tina's coffee shop is up and running, the indoor bathrooms will become available to all during her operating hours. This is not a glamorous, nature rich site. It's cheap and easy overnight parking and we are just getting started figuring out how to structure pricing. We have free wifi and will offer 50 amp plug in for an hourly or overnight fee. We'll have a graduated fee for overnight stays. * Over time we plan to carry merchandise created by Palus, Cayuse, Nez Perce and Yakima authors and artists and provide opportunities for non-indigenous visitors to learn about the Palus people on site. If you are Palus, Cayuse, Nez Perce or Yakima, please reach out to us for codes you can use for free accommodation.
