Looking for a quiet place to rest and recharge? We have the perfect spot for you! This property fronts Kelso Lake, which is a motorboat free 55 acre lake located half way between Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, just a 15 minute drive to Silverwood Theme Park. This is the ideal spot to spend time kayaking, catching up around the campfire, fishing, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. If you keep your eyes peeled you may see blue heron’s, bald eagles, and if your quiet the beaver may swim past and say hello! This property is a half acre at the edge of the Kelso Lake community. This property is ideally located less than a 20 min drive to Farragut State Park, Lake Pend Oreille, Bayview, and Silverwood Theme Park. If you are trailer camping you will have to back in from the public roadway up an incline to access the spot. If you aren't comfortable backing your trailer in this spot might not be for you. We also welcome tent and van campers! There is a fire ring, a picnic table, tiki bar, decks, chairs, and an outhouse. There is a trail down to the dock where you can launch kayaks, paddle boards or canoes. New this season, 4 kayaks included with your stay!! The property is situated on the end of the lake with lily pads and beaver dens…. its beautiful but not the best swimming spot! If you want to take a dip in the lake the public boat launch is less than a half mile down the road! If you have an electric boat motor you are more than welcome to use it but no motor boats are allowed on this lake. If this sounds like the perfect get away for you, we cannot wait to host!

Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Available only on HipCamp for a larger group: the one bed/one bath with kitchen vacation home can take up to four persons while up to four may camp in the front yard (RV/tent). Two week maximum stay for this type of arrangement. Otherwise the home and RV spot may be rented individually and separately. The rentable large front yard is enclosed with a fence about .5 of an acre. The overall property is about eight acres. There are tall fir trees, grassy area, a firepit, pull-through driveway, shade. There is a large firepit, water, 30A power pole. No sewer for the RV. Most suitable for a vehicle pulling a RV up to 30-foot long. Driveway is flat with wood chips / gravel. Has a picnic table. The house on the property has a front porch with a pergola and another outdoor table with a shade umbrella. No access to the house. There are two driveways, North and South. Enter through the North driveway. There is a long-term tenant that lives in a detached shop on the South of the property and who also uses the South driveway.

Tucked away in the mossy rocks, The Hidden Frog offers a half acre of private, forested camping on the banks of Kelso Lake. The 60 acre lake allows non-motorized watercraft only, which makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The parking area has room for a vehicle and trailer up to 60ft long combined, plus another area for a single vehicle. It is adjacent to a shared driveway, so you must leave room for vehicles to get around you. You can choose to set up camp there, or down a short path to the lake where there is ample flat ground for multiple tents. The path is cleared but rocky, so always make sure to watch your step! A fire ring, shovel, bucket of water, emergency fire extinguisher, 2 chairs and one 13gal garbage bag are provided for your use. I live next door, so I'm around if there is anything you need (don't be afraid to ask!) There are no other amenities right now, but we plan on adding some as we start to make some money (i.e. an outhouse, electrical.) The shoreline is very bushy and rocky- not ideal for fishing, boating or swimming, but there is a free public boat launch site .4mi down the road, plus another at Granite lake .7mi away. Both offer a toilet, and a place for swimming and fishing (must have a fishing licence.) Please respect the boundaries and do not cross into neighbors' yards. Also, do not disturb the mosses growing on the rocks (it is a fragile ecosystem!) and respect the wildlife that make the space their home. Wildlife you may encounter includes deer, moose, beaver, otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, salamanders, eagles, osprey, blue herons, ducks, and many other bird species- we are located on the Idaho Birding Trail. Weekend Trip to Beaver Bay

Beaver Bay was such a beautiful and fun place for a weekend camping trip with the fam. Kids and our dog had plenty of space to play and explore, and the kayaks were a great addition so we all had the opportunity to paddle on the lake. The water a ways out from the dock is pretty deep which was so refreshing for a quick swim! There was more than enough space for our trailer, two tents, and three cars. The extra table made a nice camp kitchen area. There are a few neighbors nearby, which was no problem especially with the privacy fencing and trees, we were more than able to relax and enjoy the outdoors peacefully. At night, you can hear train horns as they pass through nearby, which didn’t bother us but if you’re sensitive to that you might consider ear plugs if you’re tent camping. Thanks for sharing this spot with us, we hope to visit again soon!

We had such a great time at this spot. Unfortunately the smoke is bad right now but we still managed to enjoy ourselves. The view is incredible, super clean port-a-potty and everything was very clearly laid out for us to effectively utilize the site. We are definitely coming back again! Not buggy this time of year except for some yellow jackets.

We were staying north at Mirror lake and got evacuated due to the Sunset Fire. We were lucky enough to find this gem on very short notice! The spot was perfect for the 4 of us to camp down at the lake for the night. Beautiful spot and we would return in the future!

Campsite was great! Parking on top and a good spot by the lake for a tent. It was a bit of a tight fit for our big camper but worked for us. Parking spot was a little unlevel but that's what leveling jacks are for. Public access to the lake was just down the road. We had a great time there while visiting Silverwood. Cell signal was low, but host was more then helpful when knocking on the door.

My husband, our 4 year old son, and myself tent camped at Stephen’s place for one night before a trip to Silverwood. We loved the included kayaks and thoughtful outdoor furniture throughout the campsite. Our only “complaint” would be the bathrooms— the permanent one didn’t seem to be working properly, and the port-a-potty desperately needed to be serviced! We know that it’s a rarity to find a campground with clean, nice smelling toilets, though, so it didn’t affect our stay all that much. It felt private, even though it’s right next to a well-traveled road, and it was pretty quiet at night— nothing but crickets! We had a great night camping here and recommend it.

Great spot! Isolated and close to water. Water is fine to swim in as I think most bodies of water in this area have the same warnings just maybe not as concentrated? Idk, my husband and I didn’t grow any extra limbs or anything crazy! Plan to come back again soon :)

Really enjoyed camping here! We were visiting Silverwood Theme Park for two days and couldn’t be happier with choosing this over a crowded campground. It was easy enough to get to and close to everything we needed. It had rained recently so there were a few mosquitos so you may want to bring bug spray. 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful camping spot, enjoyed our stay. What I didn’t like was the barking dogs across the street, seems like they never stop barking. Also I think they need to take better care of the bathroom facilities. I might of hit it at a bad time because last time I was there the bathroom was great! Over all it was great enjoyed kayaking on this beautiful peaceful lake.
