As a full-time host and tour guide, I take pride is giving people the best experiences possible while on island! Our properties are cozy and provide everything you will need being your home away from home while on vacation! Learn more about this land: The ultimate local experience while providing comforts to make your stay enjoyable. Live in traditional Hawaiian style homes! For guests unfamiliar with the Big Island, it is not like the other islands people travel to. If Oahu is more Americanized, the Big Island is still more of a Polynesian Island. Our property allows guests to enjoy a genuine local experience. The cabins have power and endless hot water. All water on property is rainwater harvested from our roof! At night your ears will be greeted by the forest with sounds of coqui frogs. Many people love them 🐸 Please search for Bathing Suits and Rain Boots on YouTube to find a video of what our property sounds like at night. Our channel also features videos of tours we offer. More to be uploaded, check back often! Our tours include off the beaten path adventures ranging from sunrises and geothermal Kings baths, to prawn hunting to hikes that lead to waterfalls! They are all local gems that you will not find online or offered by any other tour guide agency. We are updating our ig @bathingsuitsandrainboots regularly with footage from adventures as well! Beach gear such as surf boards, boogie boards and snorkel gear is also available. There is a detailed welcome packet with a variety of mostly free but some paid must see/do activities on the island! There are a total of 4 cabins on the one acre lot. The owners are on property, other guests may or may not be here as well. There is a dog Valentine, two outdoor cats named Ghost and Tomi, and chickens/ducks. Each cabin has a queen mattress. We rent both cabins out for larger groups. Jungle massages are available on site starting at $100 for the hour. Please note the main image capturing a lava cliff sunrise is not visible from the cabin. It is about a 30-40 minute drive from us 🌊 ☀️ 🌋 We are at 1880ft elevation so it can get chilly at night. Winters are also rainy season so if traveling to the Big Island in the winter, I suggest some light layers for warmth, a raincoat and rain boots.

We are an off-grid intentional community in the rainforest of East Hawaii in the Puna district. We have acres of tropical fruit trees, clumping bamboo, bananas, and other plants. We have about 20 different tropical breeze houses, which are hand-made, screened-in structures nestled into the forest along walking trails. We're at the end of a 3-mile-long unpaved road, so we are very secluded and have little outside noise. We are not a bed-and-breakfast, we are not a farm, we are not a place looking to rent cabins — we are an intentional community and Permaculture homestead whose primary mission is healing, activating, and living our holistic hearts in a multigenerational, bonded community. We are growing a holistic culture and creating a beautiful world together. We want to share this place and find partners in our mission/play/joy (both short and long term). We have a men's dorm and a women's dorm and breezehouses for couples and families. We do allow camping, but we rarely have it happen. People usually sleep in our buildings. We have two communal kitchens, a living room, dining rooms, communal showers, and lots of space to explore nature.

When you picture Hawaii, it’s likely that idyllic sandy beaches come to mind. And with miles and miles of beautiful coastline, this is definitely for good reason! But Hawaii is also home to loads of different ecosystems, including lush, tropical jungles abounding with wildlife. Get the best of both worlds at Kalōpā State Recreation Area, whose green forests sit right on the edge of Hawaii’s classic tropical beaches. A picturesque trail—the Kalōpā Nature Trail—winds through the park and showcases some of the Big Island’s incredible diversity of flora and fauna. This is also the perfect spot to be if you’re looking to escape the hot island heat, as much of the trail and the park is shaded by a gorgeous canopy of trees. Kalōpā is one awe-inspiring wilderness escape in the northeastern corner of the island of Hawaii.

Aloha and Welcome to the Chrysalis EarthNest – Our Nature Loving Glamping Retreat! The Chrysalis Earth Nest is a one-of-a-kind island sanctuary nestled between jungle and the ocean. Surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens, and your private driveway- This unique glamping space is a hand-crafted haven of beauty and transformation, designed to connect you with nature in comfort and peace. Step inside to find walls of natural wood and local lava rock, a soft earthen floor underfoot, and a stunning round reciprocal roof that invites the light and sky to dance above you. The round wooden doors and semi-open-air layout allow the fresh island breeze to flow through, bringing in the scents and songs of the land. Enjoy the comfort of a queen bed with soft bedding, ease of an attached private kitchen and your own serene bathhouse just a few steps away—complete with a shower and peaceful privacy. Whether you’re here to rest, write, reconnect, or simply be, the Chrysalis Earth Nest offers a sacred and grounding space to land. Let the earth hold you. Let the island breathe with you. Enjoy! Location: The site says we are in Leilani Estates, but actually we are located south of there, only 3 minutes from the coast, only 5 min to a black sand beach, only 15-20 min to natural geothermally heated hot ponds you can soak in, and approximately 50 min drive to Volcano, Pele's home. (You will happily receive the actual address once you book! ) Our space is best for nature lovers, with several half open walls, as you will feel the elements and be serenaded by the frogs at night! Our kitchen is very simple. and our bathhouse has a flush toilet, and warm shower. We have electricity and lighting indoors, but there are no streetlights, because our neighborhood values stargazing, which is amazing here! A few last details: We will provide bath towels and there is soap in the shower for your use, as well. Cell service- AT andT and Cricket cell service works best in our area. The floor is earthen, so we have rugs, and clean it regularly, but it will appear rustic. We do have a mosquito net over the bed, for folks who would like to use it. And lastly, we have 2 social outdoor cats, that you aren't likely to see, but just might stop by and say hello!

The drive to our cabin is incredible! You'll drive through some of the newest land on earth and into a beautiful jungle! If you take the time to drive through you'll pop out by the ocean at a place called Honolulu landing. Just past it and over a few speed bumps is a nice grassy park called Waiakahi'ula Beach Park that has information about the cultural significance of the area.
