I'm shooting east from site number 9 at 10:30p. Camping at Namakanipaio costs $20 per night $15 if you already have a Volcano's park pass. These sites get less costal moisture at night than camping in the national park and are 3 miles from the park entrance.

This is our Fave. So private, great little DVD collection. Had some issues with water pump here and there. Hopefully that gets fixed either way recommend for anybody wanting to just disappear from peeps. Full kitchen is great. Shower hot. Laundry had some issues but still the hosts try their best and are there for you if you need anything. Totally real people, Aloha.

The Ohana cabin stay was amazing! It was remote enough from people and views to really enjoy an off grid experience, without being too far from anything you needed. The rustic cabin had everything you need for a simple stay, especially if you are out exploring all day. The fridge, running water, toilet, cold shower, and bed really were great amenities. The night time views of the stars and sounds were amazing and peaceful! The entire experience was excellent- communication with the hosts was also immediate and helpful. The cabin was immaculate and well thought out with an assortment of helpful kitchen items and tools. Honestly couldn’t ask for a better experience! We’ve already recommended this site to so many friends on Oahu!!

Weekend Trip to Tropical Treehouse w/ Ocean View
My wife and I loved staying here! It definitely is a nature lover's paradise. Loved hearing the Coqui frogs at night <3 There is a hot shower, wifi, and open bathroom, along with a wonderful kitchen all ready for us to use. My wife especially loved the plants and view from the second floor balcony. the bed was super comfortable and the yoga room was super cool as well! I recommend for those who want to experience the nature of Big Island and have a get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Thank you Saige!

Located on the 1983 lava flow field. There are uneven surfaces that require careful attention but is safe for the adventurous and fit. No annoying croaking frogs and no mosquitos makes this sea level location with blue water ocean views and trade wind breezes a perfect paradise with very little rain and lots of sunshine. There a 10' x 12' raised deck gazebo with a picnic table and ample surfaces for exercising and stretch yoga. We are a few minutes from the black sand clothing optional beach and clean ocean soaking/swimming and Uncle Robert's Wednesday night music extravaganza. There are refrigerators available and a composting toilet and a hot water shower for conservative water showering as all water must be transported in. The advantage is very little rain and lots of sunshine makes this location a pleasure with fluffy clouds to look at that don't get you wet!!! 2 furnished small houses and a gazebo with ample parking space and solar charging for electronics. Starlink WiFi is available and will provide connectivity and cell phone links ! Your host Dani aka Gilligan has your best experience in mind and is eager to share local knowledge and fun island facts and insights through decades of island life in all of Polynesia! The property is upwind from the Kilauea Volcano National Park and when active the glow of the eruption can been faintly viewed at night from the property ! 🏄‍♀️🏊🌊🌴🏝️🌋🛏️🌈. Surfing swimming waves tropical vegetation volcanoes comfortable sleeping and lots of rainbows is what you can expect to find here on Gilligan's Islands!

Enjoy the country life in Kau on the South End of the Big Island and the lovely red Lehua flowers blooming. We live on 20 acres on Road to the Sea, which has a remote green sand beach at the end of the road (4 miles down from us). We call our slice of paradise, Honua Laa (a sacred place). Straight down to the coast is a beautiful black and green sand beach and a huge tide pool. Rent a four-wheel-drive to get there. You don’t need a 4WD to get to our place, but you will need a SUV or truck. Go slow the road is bumpy and rough in places. We are 1.2 miles from the highway. Off the grid. Rustic, but fun. If you are a Eco tourist or seeking adventure, you will love our spot! The silence is golden and the stars are amazing. Don't expect a hotel...this is upcountry glamorous camping. Shared bathroom (see photos) about a 100 feet away. Hipcamp kitchenette includes a propane single burner, ice chest, No fridge. No oven. We have an outdoor fire pit, if you like campfires! It's one-of-a-kind! Most of the parcels are 20 acre parcels around… But a few smaller parcels across the road. We have nice neighbors who keep an eye on things. The nearest grocery store is about 3 miles away. The Hele-On Bus is just 1.2 miles up the road. If you want to drive to the green sand beach at the end of our road, rent a 4 wheel drive. If you are athletic, you can walk, but it is 4 miles down and 4 miles back. I recommend going early in the morning and take water. Hot water shower is propane. Bring ice for your ice chest. Bring drinking water. There is plenty of coffee and tea in the kitchenette. Boil hot water in the kettle, put cone filter with a paper filter and ground coffee inside and on top of thermos. Drip. It's delicious! This is off the grid solar and there can be days without sun, or other glitches. No wifi. I use ATandT and I understand that Verizon and Tmobile work also The panoramic ocean view is spectacular! Very peaceful and relaxing! The back 15 acres is an old Ohia forest with 500 year old trees and lots of birds. You might even see a wild goat or a wild pig. There are small caves and gorgeous rock formations. It backs up to Manuka Forest Reserve. We have beautiful furnished cabins with beds, so you don't have to pitch a tent.&nbsp;Pillows, blankets, fresh towels provided.

We are an off-grid intentional community in the rain forest of East Hawaii in the Puna district. We have acres of tropical fruit trees, clumping bamboo, bananas and other plants. We have about 20 different tropical breeze houses, which are hand made screened in structures that are nestled into the forest along walking trails. We're at the end of a 3 mile long unpaved road, so we are very secluded and have little outside noise. We are not a bed and breakfast, we are not a farm, we are not a place looking to rent cabins -- we are an intentional community and Permaculture homestead whose primary mission is healing, activating, and living our holistic hearts in multigenerational bonded community. We are growing holistic culture and creating a beautiful world together. We want to share this place and find partners in our mission/play/joy (both short and long term). We have a men's dorm and a women's dorm and breeze houses for couples and families. We do allow camping, but we rarely have it happen. People usually sleep in our buildings. We have two communal kitchen, living room, dining rooms, communal showers, and lots of space to explore nature.

Aloha and welcome to Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii, where a slower pace is our lifestyle! My 6-acre farmstead is a mostly undeveloped, secluded jungle with a bit of forest. Enjoy your morning with local coffee or tea, and the many native birds who call it home and a variety of free-range, engaging farm animals. Be an explorer! Create your own trails, and see what secrets this beautiful, untamed jungle has to offer. There is always a relaxing spot on Bear's island, offering a shady perimeter of large native trees, a nice place for some sun or an evening fire to sit back, talk story and be amazed by the millions of stars unseen anywhere else on the planet. If you enjoy a farming or gardening experience, there is never a shortage of options. Just a few short miles away is Kilauea volcano (I'm on the safe side of the rift zone), which began erupting December 2024. Often shooting lava 1,000 feet above the caldera rim, it is a force of nature rarely seen by most. Just on the other side of the mountain awaits sprawling mountain views, Punalu'u Bakery, and a gorgeous black sand beach featuring one of the few places in the world that hosts a sea turtle resting sanctuary and viewing area. And there is always the coconut guy to show you how it's done! Hilo Bay is a 20+ minute drive, boasts waterfront shopping, fantastic restaurants and bakeries, a daily farmer's market and much more. Just north of Hilo is the scenic Hamakua Coast where you can hike through the rainforest and Waipio Valley Lookout, complete with wild horses. Back at Volcano, there a few things of note: The weather is TYPICALLY 72°-61°, not too windy or overcast. It can also be rainy for extended periods. Cabin is secluded, primitive, rustic, off-grid. There is a twin bed, mosquito net, dresser, room for a sleeping bag and a bathhouse with toilet/solar shower. Device charging available. A case of bottle water is included.
