Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips. We DO allow tent camping. Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi. An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm. Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Horse visitors require all current paperwork (Coggins, etc.). Dog visitors must be social and friendly and thus are allowed to explore the farm with their owners off-leash if desired. We live on site on 17 acres that is surrounded by large tracts of undeveloped land with the Oconee National Forest within 1/4 mile and the Ocmulgee river within 1 mile. The name Seven Islands comes from the rich history of this area and the nearby trading site between Native Americans and settlers in the 1800s on the seven islands of the Ocmulgee River. For Equestrian campers, we have an electric hook-up near the house and a round-pen size paddock for horses (or can make panels into stalls) +$7/horse/night. The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. We are just far enough away not to be intrusive, but near enough if you need assistance.

6 nights at Sun Valley Horse & Hiking Camp!

This was such a fun place to stay! The weather wasn't the best the week I was there, rainy and cold. But nevertheless the experience of staying at a working stable was fun. Every morning the horses get fed, then let out of their stables into the fields. And every evening they get brought back in. I stayed around the back of the main stable next to the juvenile pen. They have 2 youngsters who I ended up making friends with. If you can't tell I'm not a horse person. But being able to stay at Sun Valley, I'm learning to love them! Definitely worth the stay. Note: you're staying amongst the stables, so expect flies and smells. Enjoy the atmosphere! It's all part of the experience!

We loved our weekend at the Lizard Sniffer Ranch!! We stayed at the Wilbur site. This horse farm is a little slice of heaven. Although we camped, they also have cabins available. It was the perfect place for star gazing and relaxing. The owners were very nice and always a text away. We will definitely be back!!

I loved the property. We got beautiful sunrise and sunset views with all the sweet horses and goats. Our dog also made friends with the farm dogs. The directions were very clear and the whole area was extremely peaceful.

Lots of space and beautiful property for a great price. Lots of animals like horses, ponies, chickens, and the neighbors have goats and a donkey. There’s enough room to not feel crowded with the RV campers.

We, the wife and two dogs, love this place. Nearly every summer and winter our travels takes us near Deerfield and we love it so much, we keep coming back. The location is scenic and private and quiet. It maybe out-of-the-way, but worth the extra few miles.

What a beautiful spot to camp! We enjoyed a lovely evening walk with our dog and another before leaving in the morning. Thomas is a pleasant and accommodating host. The facilities were clean and offered everything we needed. Definitely felt like a safe place to stay. We would highly recommend this Hipcamp site and host.

Liberty Stables is amazing! We felt very safe there and also very relaxed being surrounded by the animals. Lots of sweet horses and ponies, goats, pig, chicken. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and very well equipped. Good thing is that there is light through most of the path to go to the bathroom during the night. We will surely come back!

Had a great time. Beautiful place. Farm animals were super cool and the dogs were especially charming. Host was very friendly and responsive. Had 5g reception too and starlink works very well, remote work was a breeze. Full hookup went smooth and everything worked as expected. Good location. Will definitely plan a future trip and highly recommend the place. Ample space to setup.
