This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). Weekend Trip to Brooks Lake, A Peace of Heaven

Bill & Laura's hospitality was amazing! They made every effort to help us find a great spot right on the lake! Moved and leveled the picnic table while we enjoyed conversation. Communication details were very detail and a great help. The views were beautiful and serene, we even had access to a gazebo next to our camp. We slept in our tent and felt very safe. We caught two nice size catfish just before leaving which was great! I can't say enough about this private camp site, except we will be back again soon.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverbend Camp

We had a wonderful time tent camping here! It was very private and peaceful! Largest camping site we’ve ever had! The swing pictured in the listing was broken when we arrived which was a disappointment for our kiddos but we will definitely be back for more camping trips and maybe it’ll be fixed then! The creek was a wonderful spot to have coffee with the large rocks for sitting!

I had a wonderful stay on JoLane and Sam's place. JoLane offered prompt replies and all information needed for arrival. Sam (a veteran) met me and guided me to Site 4. We had a nice chat about local going-ons... all the more making me feel at home. The site was just right for my Colorado and 16ft camper. That being said, this site would be perfect for single or multiple tent camping! I enjoyed the peaceful feeling of being in remote, deep woods... without really being far away from conveniences or access to major roads. Do yourself a favor a spend a night or two here!

Weekend Trip to Surewood ForRest

Staying at the farm has been one of the best camping trips I’ve ever taken! Mrs Jo and Mr Sam were the absolute best hosts anyone could ask for! Had help unloading and bringing my gear to the site. They were also so nice to let me borrow a small heater for when it was going to get down to freezing. The weather was beautiful and the walks through the property were great. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed being around the goats and the mule since we stayed at the goat site. Enjoyed waking up to the roosters and peacocks. Plenty of good deadfall for firewood and the sites are set up very well. I also brought home some soap and honey that were made at the farm. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend of relaxation and time in the woods. So many great things, but too many to list! You will definitely have to go experience it for yourself! We had the best time at Brooks Lake — it’s truly our happy place. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and it’s the perfect spot to spend time as a family. My son loved learning to fish and explore the outdoors, and we all enjoyed just slowing down and soaking up the quiet. Everyone there is so kind and welcoming — it really feels like home away from home. We can’t wait to bring our camper back for another weekend by the lake!

Beautiful property located in the heart of suburban Atlanta. To be honest, wasn't what I thought thinking this Aaron's land was further out of town? However, to Aaron's credit, he has chosen NOT to develop his gorgeous property and keep it pristine and instead turn it into an RV haven. Coming in from the highway with a large rig, it was a little nerve wracking coming in through town and into his property, but if I can fit ANYONE can fit. Lots of separation from others. Wonderful space.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverbend Camp

The site was big, pleasantly tucked away, and I could hear the stream from my hammock. Loved smelling the pine needles as I got out of my car. I did hear some distant coyotes and highway noise, but the white noise of the water blocked most of it. Felt very safe and unbothered despite knowing some other properties were nearby. Will definitely be back!

Nothing says beauty like a herd of Arabian horses galloping across a meadow!

6 nights at Sun Valley Horse & Hiking Camp!

This was such a fun place to stay! The weather wasn't the best the week I was there, rainy and cold. But nevertheless the experience of staying at a working stable was fun. Every morning the horses get fed, then let out of their stables into the fields. And every evening they get brought back in. I stayed around the back of the main stable next to the juvenile pen. They have 2 youngsters who I ended up making friends with. If you can't tell I'm not a horse person. But being able to stay at Sun Valley, I'm learning to love them! Definitely worth the stay. Note: you're staying amongst the stables, so expect flies and smells. Enjoy the atmosphere! It's all part of the experience!

3 nights at Risin' RV

My husband & I spent 3 nights at Risin’ RV. This is a cozy, urban camping experience. Location is great because you feel as though you’re in the country, however you are minutes from downtown East Atlanta. The community here is at a soft open. There is some construction going on, however it really didn’t interfere with our stay at all. You need to be self-contained to stay here because there are no bathrooms or showers. However, there are full hookups for RVs/trailer camping. The camp has a cat & chickens wandering around & that was really fun. Communication with the camp hosts was easy. The camp is secure & safe. There are 2 security gates & we were given a code for the keypad so we could come & go as we pleased. There was a little bit of road noise, however not significant. We had a quite, peaceful stay at Risin’ RV.

Weekend Trip to Peace Apalachee

My husband, my two children, and I had an amazing time at the airstream! It felt decadent to have our very own hiking trails. It was remote enough to feel like we were really out in the middle of nowhere, the stars were so incredible because there was no light pollution. The airstream itself was clean, well stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed eating at the picnic table for all of our meals and toasting marshmallows. The outdoor shower was a hit with my husband and I, and because there was a little bathtub, my children were able to take a bath after a very dirty day outside. We would really love to come back in the future and visit again! Highly recommend.

Beautiful spot overlooking the River. We visited High Falls state park, which was a really beautiful park. Not far to Jackson for Fresh Air BBQ. Overall a very nice site close to some great places to visit.

I love camping at Brooks Lake! They are very attentive, quiet, very very peaceful. My grandsons loved riding their bike, basketball, volleyball and the lake is gorgeous.
