Sugarloafers on the Lower Ocoee

Sugarloafers is located on a portion of the old Ocoee Outdoors Zipline. It is nestled along the lower Ocoee river with great views of Sugarloaf and Big Frog Mountains. This is an excellent gateway to Parksville Lake and the Cherokee National Forest and all the activities it affords including whitewater rafting on the Hiwasee and Ocoee Rivers, mountain biking, kayaking, lazy river tubing/floating, fishing, and so much more! Our property is one of nine - 5 acre tracts along the river. As of Fall of 2024, the adjacent lots have houses on them. So while this campsite is some distance from the houses, it is currently within view. Although the campsite is back from the highway, road noise can be an issue especially on the weekends. Highway 64 is one of three major roads in the county. Unfortunatley, tents don't block the sounds of Harleys racing down the road at 2 a.m. Consider bringing earplugs or muffs if you are a light sleeper! Within a mile from the end of the driveway there is: Food - Subway Sandwich Shop and the Gondoler restaraunt. Whitewater Outfitters - Ocoee Outdoors, NOC Ocoee Outpost, ACE Ocoee Adventures Myrtles Cafe is now two miles east next to the Firefly Market. Please consider visiting these local business, they provide excellent service. Other - Rock Creek Oufitters Ocoee Store, Ocoee Express Gas Station and Convenience Store, Sugarloaf River Park and Parksville Dam and the entrance to the Cherokee National Forest! Dollar General & Foodcity - 4.2 miles back towards Cleveland (because someone forgot their phone charging cable and you want a 6 pack of beer). Middle Ocoee Private boater takeout is only a 10 minute drive east on Hwy 64. Consider a hike to beautiful Benton Falls - drive to the top of Chilhowee Mountain and it's a 3 mile round trip hike. !!!ALSO!!! Due to the massive damage caused by hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024 - especially to I-40 through the mountains - Highway 64 is now one of the primary routes into NC from TN. Expect traffic along this route to be busier than normal.

Green Acres

4. Green Acres

33mi from Jasper · 1 site · Tent, RV
Private and lightly wooded, this 3+ acre campsite offers beautiful views, abundant wildlife, and convenient access to both Blue Ridge, Georgia, and McCaysville/Copperhill on the Tennessee border. Our single campsite includes 30 amp and 50 amp electrical hookups, clean running water pumped from a deep well (very good water), and a large underground septic tank. Formerly the site of a 1920s farm house owned by the Green family, the new gravel pad sits near the bottom of a gently rolling hillside scattered with clumps of trees and open level areas for you to explore with family, friends, and pets. The property line backs up to a large pasture and approximately 200 acres of mostly undeveloped woods. Mature oak and persimmon trees, muscadine vines, and wildflowers provide forage for deer, rabbits, squirrels, turkeys and other birds, as well as native pollinators. This place was our home for many years, and we love it dearly.
