Another incredible stay at Rest and Relax Retreat ! I try to get up here and tent camp at least every 2 to 3 weeks. Ralph does have a couple of cabins that you can rent also but…I prefer tent camping, especially in the winter right next to the creek. As usual, it exceeded my expectations just with the beauty of the place and all the nice accommodations that Ralph provides…such as, a canopy for each tent site, a smokeless fire pit for each site, and a hammock and picnic table also for each site, oh, and did I mention the common house… where there is a seating area with plenty of outlets to recharge your phone or power station if need be, while you enjoy a cup of coffee from the provided Keurig, coffee, sugar and cream, included and or, take a hot shower at one of two bathrooms inside the common house. He also provides firewood at no charge. Most of the time I have so much wood left over that I can’t even burn it all in the weekend stay ! But if I do run low, it is no problem. I can text Ralph or usually before he turns in for the evening… he will do his walk around to each site. Making sure that everyone has anything and everything that they need, before he himself turns in for the night. The land is beautiful, so are his dogs and his goats. You won’t go wrong if you choose this place… relax by the creek 10 feet away, with a campfire going just in front of you, to soothe your anxieties away. Thank you so much again Ralph for everything!

I really enjoyed spending time with my adult family away from the stresses of the holiday season. We spent daylight visiting Waterfalls, museums and dining. We bonded by the outdoor bonfire at night, and we shared family reflections and laughter in the one-room cabin. As a family that enjoys spending time together, this trip was magical.

We are frequent campers and this was our first Hipcamp booking. It has ruined us for all future campsites because it set the bar so high! My wife and I spent Thanksgiving (3 nights) here. This was an amazing property. We stayed in the camping/sheltered site with a HOT TUB !!, amazing views, fire ring, power. Everything we needed for enjoyable cold weather camping. And that heated bath house!!! Unreal, the detail and amenities. Second to none. The on property hiking was so enjoyable. Take a walk to Day Dreamer’s rock. Such a magical experience. We are already trying to find time to bring back the rest of the family. I can not recommend this site enough. We are looking forward to future trips to Indian Creek.

This site was perfect! Ralph had everything set up for us in advance a canopy, chairs, hammock, fire pit, and all the wood we could need. Loved the trickle sound of the stream at night. Was surprised the price included all the extras. The common area was brand new and clean. We would definitely camp here again or in one of the cabins.

Cowee is the best campground we’ve ever been to - and we’ve been to a lot all up and down the east coast. Tanya has clearly designed this campground to every last detail with an aesthetic hand. From the campsites themselves and their views, to the public spaces, conveniences of a laundry room to bathrooms which look like bathrooms out of a camp beautiful magazine. And Tanya is absolutely fabulous - responsive and very caring. We are definitely coming back!

We camped at Brass Camp it is above Johnsonville and the Glass House site. Nice plot to camp 3500 elevation, it’s level, had moss growing to cushion the ground. We had a 12ft 4 season tent with a 12ft rain fly we used as a porch and it fight just right with a lot of land left in front. You are next to a local road but traffic is pretty sparse. The Farm is really something , and is a working farm it has all the noises from the roaster to the donkey and ducks, it was pleasant to sit and listen. Amenities are very taken care of, bathhouse was great with hot showers and toilets , the Camp store was great with the kitchen sink area to wash up the dishes and potable water to refill your tanks. Stacey was great with our order for a pallet of wood making sure it was taken care of and onsite, I would have liked to take Greg up on visiting the farm and taking a look at the Mill they have onsite but stormy weather and snow held us back. We will return!

We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. Guest access This is a private residence with no one onsite other than your group. You will have access the the entire home and outdoor space. There is a locked supply closet in the loft. Other things to note - The cabin is heated by electric baseboards as well as a propane wall unit in the living area - The A/C unit in the loft window cools the loft as well as the living area and there is a second unit in the downstairs bedroom, as well as ceiling fans in all the rooms. - No indoor fires - Please note this is a remote location and while wifi access is available it cannot always be guaranteed.
