20 minutes from downtown Athens. A quarter mile down a winding dirt drive will open up to a beautiful scene of river and nature. Quiet solitude and you are at one with this piece of heaven. Keep your eyes open for the bald eagle. If you are agile enough, climb down the terrain to the river for an early morning bath or fish for lunch.
This site is a singular rental. You will have it to yourself. You may choose to camp with friends in which there is space for an Rv and a pull behind or two small rvs. It can also be used to tent camp. There is a small shed with a full bunk on bottom and a twin on top. A table with two chairs and electric fireplace. There is in addition, a small A/C unit in the shed. It is a small space with nothing but outlets and a small refrigerator. You will need to bring all of your essentials. Pillows/Sheets/Linens/towels are not provided. The bath house is steps away. You will need towels/rags/soap/toilet paper and all essentials. It is merely a toilet, sink, and shower.
There is a Weber charcoal grill available on site. Bring your essentials.
You will need to bring your own firewood..
The driveway to the site is marked with the 1755 address sign on Davids Home Church rd. If you are driving N/NW on David's Home Church Rd, it is exactly 2 miles on the right from where you turned onto the road. If you are traveling E/SE on David's Home Church Rd, it is exactly 1.7 miles on the left from where you turned onto David's Home Church Rd.
The gate will be closed, please close the gate back when you leave.
Please take advantage of the Broad River outpost to rent kayaks/canoes/tubes.
Also The Sandbar is located minutes away and they also provide rentals as well as zip lining.

Consistently well cared for for years, Broad River Retreat is always a solid choice with an unparalleled view. The road in is gravel, slightly hilly, but well tended and any passenger vehicle should have no trouble there. Jean is an attentive host but never intrudes on your privacy. You have the six acres all to yourself and don’t see neighbors while you are there. It’s our perfect definition of what enjoying the outdoors should be and has comforts to boot. And the broken glass doors at the shelter that another reviewer mentioned have been repaired, so if you use the shelter, you have perfect views out the many sets of glass doors.

This was a beautiful spot to camp, my family loved it. The tiny house/shed was perfect to add some comfort- it made camping with 2 young kids easier and more enjoyable(the heater came in handy at night). We'll definitely book again in the summer to fully enjoy the river!

Weekend Trip to SoulShine Forest
Thank you thank you thank you Lisa & Winton for a beautiful experience. The Lotus Belle is so unique and groovy with those most beautiful art and decorations. We loved the bathhouse so much, so clean and pretty. The whole site is the most unique piece of art you could find. Lisa and Winton are exceptional communicators and so incredibly sweet and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help me surprise my partner for our anniversary 💛 Winton even helped get our car battery fixed when it died at the site - you have no idea how much I appreciate this 💛
Thank you guys so so much for helping me plan this special weekend for my partner and I :)

Great campsite with an awesome view! We were able to setup two big tents with plenty of room for everyone. Right after we setup an unexpected hail storm struck and we were glad to have the shelter to ride it out in. The shelter has a mini fridge, A/C, and an electric fireplace. Power, water, and the hot shower were nice luxuries. The walk down to the river was very easy.

Really nice camper set up on a quiet back road with beautiful mountain views. Conveniently located to multiple area wineries, distilleries, hiking in the Chattahoochee Forrest, etc. We enjoyed a day trip into Helen to check out the Oktoberfest fun. The bathroom + bunk room was great for making the camping experience easier. The tent areas were easily flat enough to sleep on comfortably, and the fire pit was very conducive to group conversations.
The river is about a 2 minute walk up and down a steep hill, but was a blast to play in!

The property was easy to find, and the site can be accessed with pretty much any vehicle even if it's a little hilly. The site is well maintained, and has an amazing view of the Broad River. Completely isolated, this is a great campsite for those that value privacy heavily. While we tent camped for most of our stay, the air conditioned shack was very welcome during the hottest times of the day. The site has amazing tree coverage, so with the exception of a 3-4 time frame, it is well shaded and cool. Highly recommend camping here.

Everything far exceeded my expectations. Well maintained, large capacity refrigerator, 2 master bedrooms and a pull out couch, provides plenty of room. Many nice touches such as clean bedding and towels, super clean and fresh smelling, grill outside, games, etc, etc.. Amazing mountain view, yet towns are accessible within 15 minutes if needed. Climate controls were very nice with 2 AC units. Showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Everything seemed new-ish and in good condition.
Also, the owner is very nice, as well as the hosts! Their assistance and communications were tops!
Many beautiful parks, trails, and waterfalls are within 30 minutes.
Highly, highly recommend! I will definitely stay again!

Nice and very private. You drive about 1/2 mile down a dirt/gravel road to get to the site. The area was clean and looks exactly like the pictures you see on Hipcamp. The shower, toilet and sink were nice to have. The AC worked well in the bunkhouse as did the small dorm size fridge. Two sides of the French doors were shattered when I arrived but didn’t bother me bc I never opened those doors.
The river is not really close to the site, it is probably 50-75 yards down a steep, overgrown hillside to get to the river. You can see where people have walked down but it’s not an actual trail. Especially in the summer with all of the foliage grown in. So just keep that in mind.
I would recommend for the privacy and cleanliness.
