Off the grid, out of the way, rustic 10 acres where you can pitch a tent, take a hike and enjoy a campfire. Mostly wooded with nearby sites to explore, a few swings for fun (swings have recently been removed due to trees falling) and a fantastically cold SEASONAL mountain creek for cooling off.
Always improving our place, we recently removed the 'cabins', which had become unsuitable for use.
The property is part of a community, which you may notice on the way to the campsite. Site 1 (The Swings) will be first left after you turn into the driveway. It is a U shaped drive, at the bottom of the U, park and walk 15 feet to site. Site 2 (Main Container) is at the end of main driveway, next to container. Drive to end of driveway, park and walk 10 feet to camp. Both are equidistant to the outhouse. There is a trail (tagged with red) that goes all the way around the property, a top half and a bottom half that will take you by the creek. Please look through all of the listing information.
The SEASONAL creek at the bottom of the slope is wonderful and there is a spot for two adults to sit down into the crisp water and plenty of room for lots of feet. If you follow the path in the middle of the property, a 30 minute walk (therefore not on our property) will take you to a beautiful swimming hole. It's cold! There is no power or running water at the property so it's an ideal place to get away from daily life and truly relax. We hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does!
Please note that even though some pictures show buildings, there are no longer cabins/shelter on The Land. We are unable to remove pictures Hipcampers post. It is raw 10 acres so, yes there are ticks. Cover up and spray as you see fit, just be aware. Also, since it is 10 acres of trees, there is plenty of firewood. We don't leave any bundles, just find down limbs and presto, firewood. DO NOT USE THE MAP LISTED OR GOOGLE MAPS; it will take you straight through water. We send detailed directions to you once the day before your booking. Please plan to travel in with daylight, it is incredibly difficult to navigate to our space in the dark. This campsite is great! It is very spacious with great views. They have canoes and kayaks available to use and it’s great to get on the water for sunrise or sunset. Located close to some awesome outdoors areas like Suck Creek and Middle Creek. Highly recommend.

I love this campground. The benefits are numerous starting with the location to Nooga, the clean water of the river, farm fresh eggs right down the street, and last but not least, a wolf on sentry. Seriously, Ava is super sweet and the rest of the pack are apparently super social as well. The hosts are proud of their campground with good reason. There's a lot to offer here! Have fun with the time zones! Honestly, that kept us on our toes!

Site is on the side of a mountain, level, clean, and a great fireppit!The trails are great for a walk in the woods, the lower one has a small running stream. As far as privacy goes, it's wooded, but there is a house directly across from the site. My 2nd trip here, will be back!

We had an amazing time primitive camping! The host gave clear, helpful directions that made finding the site easy. There are two campsites on the property, and we were lucky enough to have the whole area to ourselves. There was plenty of firewood to be found around the property. The site perfect for our small dogs—they could roam freely without any concerns.
There’s a hidden blue hole, which was a great bonus. It’s about a 45-minute round trip hike—downhill on the way there and uphill coming back. Some sections of the trail are a bit overgrown, and we did pick up a few ticks, but that’s pretty normal for this kind of outdoor adventure.

After 10 years of camping this was the most beautiful campground we have ever stayed at. It had full hookup and wifi and wonderfully kind hosts; but other than that you felt like you were by yourself in the most scenic location ever. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in their perfect property and everything reflected that. We loved the beautiful views, the kayaks, the suggestions of things to do from the owner, including guiding us to the top of a nearby mountain for sunrise, the rope swing we kayaked to each day & the sweet well behaved dogs that roamed the property-you can just tell these sweet old pups are living out their best life here as well. I also loved all the well thought out seating areas all over. Adirondacks perfectly positioned with rock foot rests, swings, rock tables, patio furniture, perfect landscaping -everything was just beyond what we expected. We didn’t even have to get out our chairs or our outdoor rug because everything was nicely mulched. My only worry is that as more people discover this gem of a place it will be harder to book. LOL Thanks again Laura & Delon!

The site is big and open. The owner, Taylor came out and cut up wood for us. That was awesome. The lake is close and the fishing good. Very little car traffic, only see one maybe 2 a day. Out house is good. The stream was dry and the hike was laborious but worth checking out. All in all a great location. Thanks taylor and Jeanette. We'll be back for sure!

If you want a real "adventure/wilderness" type of experience, this is for you! Getting to the camp site alone was an adventure for my son and I. Perfect for an "off-roading" type experience. Personally, having the opportunity to experience this with my vehicle was awesome. The property itself is a treat to behold. Beauty everywhere you look. From the stones to the trees, we enjoyed every bit of it. Regrettably, we didn't get the full experience due to time restrictions but there's always another time. Thank you guys so much!

We had the most wonderful time at River Life RV Resort. It’s a great place to take in nature’s true beauty. Laura and Delon were the most amazing hosts! We loved that our dogs could be off leash, running around with other dogs on the property. We hope to return again soon!

This site worked great for our purposes which was just a place to lay down in our little tent as we passed through Chattanooga on a road trip. However, the site was kind of difficult to find. (We did come in late at night, though) A sign or something indicating where it was would have been helpful regardless! Overall I recommend if you can handle some city noises. Great spot to lay your head for the price, once you find it.

This property is gorgeous. The blue hole was the highlight of the trip, it is absolutely magical down in the gorge. Unfortunately it was not warm enough to swim but some of the mountain laurel and rhododendron were still in bloom so we hung up our hammocks and just enjoyed the view. The trail down to the blue hole could use some TLC and clearer signage but overall wasn’t bad. I will definitely be returning to camp here with friends!

Had the best time at Mateo’s property! First, Mateo was super responsive, respectful and friendly to talk to. Hook ups were easy to access. The fire pit area was perfect for some evening fireside tea and conversation. It’s conveniently located a short drive to several charming towns including Blue Ridge. The property even has its own 1/2 mile trail, blazed and with signage 😆.
