Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. This is a nice place to camp, near the interstate, so it's easy to get pretty much anywhere. It's a quiet fenced-in area with two superwide automatic gates. Using the MyQ app made it easy to go in/out. The side was wide and with 50 amp, water, and sewer.

Just enough outside city and in the trees to feel remote. Had a safe feel. Easy access to everything needed. Short ride to airport. Some airplane noise but it didn't bother me.

Doni was an incredibly gracious and kind host who went above and beyond to be helpful! The property was perfect for our single night trip, and there seem to be several different sites available depending on what you’re looking for. The spot we selected had a fire ring, had enough room for several tents, and felt secluded even though it was just a 3 minute walk back to our vehicles. There is some road noise at night you can hear, but otherwise we had a wonderful time. We had some success fishing as well along the river, which was quite exciting. The paddle board was fun as well. Would love to come back with a larger group.

We absolutely loved the relaxed and private nature of our stay. The sound of the water and the peaceful surroundings were everything we needed to unwind. We stayed under the RV cover in our campervan and extended tent due to the rain which completely kept us dry! The host checked in on is by text and were proactive in all their instructions and information. I highly recommend and plan to come back!

My husband & I spent 3 nights at Risin’ RV. This is a cozy, urban camping experience. Location is great because you feel as though you’re in the country, however you are minutes from downtown East Atlanta. The community here is at a soft open. There is some construction going on, however it really didn’t interfere with our stay at all. You need to be self-contained to stay here because there are no bathrooms or showers. However, there are full hookups for RVs/trailer camping. The camp has a cat & chickens wandering around & that was really fun. Communication with the camp hosts was easy. The camp is secure & safe. There are 2 security gates & we were given a code for the keypad so we could come & go as we pleased. There was a little bit of road noise, however not significant. We had a quite, peaceful stay at Risin’ RV.

Francisco was very welcoming and I felt at ease. I didn’t spend too much time at the campsite except to sleep, but it was nice to be in the woods at night and still have access to a modern-rustic toilet/sink. He offered to give me an awning during the rain as well, which I saw too late haha but was appreciated.

The best thing about this site is the hospitality! The property owner greeted us and helped us find the electric hookups, the water, and the restroom - he was also very responsive to any questions I had. However, they rent out 2 spots so if you have a large tent I do not recommend getting the smaller spot, because it is very small and the adjacent landowners are very close and have a dog that barks nonstop all night. The large camping spot is amazing and removed from the barking dog. We stayed in both spots and the small spot was very difficult to fit into because I have a large tent. Overall I recommend it because it’s a great location near town and I live in Acworth and only took about half hour to get there, but it’s also fairly remote near Red Top mountain. Pros: amenities, hospitality, convenience to town, great room to spread out if you get the good site. Cons: houses very close by, just off noisy road, limited space if you get the smaller site

The location, convenience, and safety of this Hipcamp is great. Easy access to bike trails, bike lanes, and the bus system into downtown Atlanta was the closest in the area. Adding and changing dates and times was easy. Having access to the gate codes made coming and going easy, also. The chickens and roosters added a hone spun touch.

Loved the location, we could ride our bikes all the way to the Atlanta Beltline bike trail. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The door to the street was very convenient, also. I loved the chickens and rooster visiting us, especially running to our RV when cooking and the smoke detector went off. Too funny.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Mulberry. We were only there for stop and go since we had plans in Ellijay but we are stoked to come back. The campsite is great with nice bathrooms with hot showers. The staff for us was the highlight. SUPER friendly and hard working folks. And if you’re going to stay here take advantage of the meals. The dining hall is so cool. Make sure you’re on time though! The staff wears a lot of hats and they are hard working.

My husband and I with 2 larger dogs enjoyed 3 nights camping on Dawne’s property. This was our first “ test “ trip in the new camper, and the full hookups made things so convenient. Full hook-ups can be harder to find outside a campground. The lot was nice and level, enjoyed the picnic table and the grassy area was just big enough to give the dogs some exploration. We saw dozens of hummingbirds (migrating?) on the flowering plants on the deep creek bank and we enjoyed eating our meals at the picnic table and watching them. There is sound from the main road but you cannot see the vehicles, and it was not enough to bother us. This was a great nearby ( one hour for us ) location for us and we plan on booking again. Also, there is a beautiful log home Air BnB towards the back of the property that would be great to rent at the same time by non- camper friends and family. Kelli and Ted Ellis
