We are a working aquaponics farm, located in Marion Co Georgia. From maps it shows that we are about 13 miles straight line distance from Columbus Georgia. That would be true if you could drive through Fort Moore. You cannot so we are actually about 35 mins or 23 miles from Columbus. The drive is pleasant with very little traffic.
Our campsite sits beyond the gate in front of our small farm/general store. There are rustic bathrooms with hot water, free WiFi and plenty to do! We encourage you to hike, bike, and explore. ** We are in rattlesnake and copperhead season. (SEP - OCT) Please be mindful hiking on warms days and evenings towards dusk. **
The store is not open at this time, and the Greenhouse is available by request.
Deer, coyotes, wild hogs, and other creatures roam freely. Any pets must stay fully leashed at all times (see below).
Our day starts early in the summer as we harvest for market. We make every effort to be very quiet, but the field crops are close to your camp site. We will never run a tractor until after 11am. You may hear the greenhouse fans kick on starting around 9am when the system starts warming up.
Pets - Are welcome if contained on a leash at all times.
Bathrooms - are located next to the store and a short walk from your tent site.
Site - Is on level ground for tents campers RV vans and more. There is a fire pit, picnic table and water spigot. The water is not well water and comes from the county main water line. There is a main highway leading up to our gate so you do not have to off road to get to the property.

Place is great! Apple Maps is updated well so the directions were perfect and clear. They were extremely helpful and even gave me a log to get a fire started. As others have noted, it’s close to the road but it’s not too busy to be disruptive.

My husband and I booked this place last minute for a cute camping getaway and we had an amazing experience. We got to see their farm animals and feed them. They had clean facilities and were very accommodating to whatever we needed. 10/10. Would absolutely go back.

My 2nd time here and I’m so thankful I chose the same spot. I didn’t get to explore the trails the 1st time, so it was a nice treat this time. Charity is a wonderful host and I couldn’t ask for better! We love the isolation and seclusion of the site. It is right off the highway and is a little busy during the day with traffic but it tapers off late afternoon/evening and maybe a few cars between then and the next morning. There is a tree line, so it isn’t wide open to the road. Passer bys can only see the porch lights at night through the trees. We felt completely safe, even the first time I stayed with just my girls and left the hubs at home. We really enjoyed the cute little eggies and their little carton Charity left for us. Bathrooms were good and nice hot water. All in all, we were glad a weekend away from the kids and a visit with my brother was enjoyed at Blackbird Farm.

Great location and site. The animals are friendly and provide a great soundtrack to your stay. The site included a raised, wooden tent pad which was great. There are a good amount of trash cans available and the area is incredibly well maintained. The outhouse is in great condition and provides enough hot water for a good shower while the laundry facility provides an incredible resource and a free outlet. I felt very safe and had a wonderful experience. 10/10

We have stayed at Piney Hills two fall seasons in a row now, and I can’t envision a year that we wouldn’t return. I love it (wife) because it is gated and I feel safe there, my husband loves it because it gets his wife out into nature (😂), and the kids love digging around for toads and bugs, and they love the farm animals so much. We’ve stayed both in an A frame and a tent site. If you’re staying in a tent and you want sleep, there are roosters at the farm so bring some ear plugs, they crow early! Ha! ;) Lisa is so sweet to the kids, and you can tell they just love providing a great place for families and everyone to enjoy a little slice of nature. 10/10.

All of the above was amazing!! Lisa and James had great knowledge about nearby attractions!! The bathroom/shower was clean and easily accessible! Laundry was a great add on but bring some quarters (however the hosts worked with us to get us the change we needed). Make sure to give helping hand to feed the animals as it was a highlight for us!! This was such an awesome place and we would be happy to stay here again!!

Lisa & James have a cozy set up. The showers were clean and the aminals were friendly. We were only here for a night, but highly recommend! Just bring your food and drinks beforehand. Not much for dining close by.

Private, quiet, bathroom and shower was a plus. Loved the hiking on the property and the hosts were very nice and communicative. We also visited Providence Canyon and Pasaquan while visiting. Both great spots! Thanks for the fun weekend!

Beautiful homestead with a lot of land invested in the continued development of the campground portion of the property. Easy to locate our site and very spacious area. The ponies wandered up towards us on their side of the fence and appreciated pets. The covered tent platform was a huge W since a large thunderstorm rolled through in the middle of the night. Looking forward to our next visit!

This campsite feels incredibly safe the moment you arrive. The hosts are really warm and welcoming. Someone comes through 1-2 times a day to check on you - just enough to be courteous but never intrusive or distracting from your trip. The animals are a delight and the facilities are clean, thoughtfully designed and just what you need. For example, the platform on site 5 has hardware all around the edges so you can tie down your tent, which I've never seen before. Definitely recommend!
Site 5 was lovely. You're nestled in the trees but still close to everything. You have a view of the miniature horse pasture and the platform came in handy during a strong storm my first night. Site 3 also looked really lovely. It's on a grassy area that almost feels like a meadow view with the horses across from you, but with your back nestled up to the trees. Would happily camp in either of those spots again.
Two things to be aware of: Like other reviews said, the roosters do crow around the clock. You'll hear the other animals, too. During the storm, I heard a lot from them. My second night they were much quieter, but I enjoyed hearing them so it didn't bother me. The freight train does move through the area frequently on a Friday night, which I enjoyed hearing less. I would consider camping S/Su next time to avoid that.

I took this trip by myself 5 days and it was perfect!!! Their manager Mike west was perfect. Ive never met a person with such excellent customer service and hosting style that he gave. The facilities, restroom and grounds were very clean. The animals were amazing. The hiking trail is phenomenal and it’s so quiet and peaceful there. I would definitely recommend this place to families with children, and groups of friends that want to get away in the cut and have lots of fun it was the perfect campsite. I will definitely be back 100% Thank you lisa and James for having me. I was a female by myself for five days and I felt 100% safe. I had zero issues.

Hade a great time staying at this site. The location was great and there was plenty to do for our family. A couple notes before staying here:
- Electricity and water are available near the bathrooms and laundry, not at the camp sites.
- There are lots of animals on the farm and we loved visiting with them.
- Bring earplugs if you don't want the rooster giving you an early wake up call.
- Family friendly site where we felt comfortable with our teenage kids exploring.
- Couldn't get a response from the hosts when messaging through the app during our stay. The staff at the site was very friendly and answered our questions.
We would definitely stay here again.
