They have the cleanest port-o-johns I've ever used. They keep the land very clean and are constantly working to keep it nice. George and Ginni are good people!

WOW!!!!! What an incredible experience we had while camping from 7/3/25-7/6/25!!!! This campground was simply gorgeous with the beauty of nature all around you. The owners are fantastic, kind, knowledgeable and friendly wanting to make sure that you enjoy your visit. My grand daughter cut her toe and as soon as George and Ginny seen her being carried, they came rushing with the first aid kit and quickly had her bandaged up so she was on the run again right away! The campground has huge handmade picnic benches, grills with cleaning tools and spatula attached, bags for garbage disposals that were being emptied constantly, Life jackets free for the little ones, tubes rented all day for $5/each, the cleanest port-o-potty’s I’ve even seen and specially carved seats made out of logs all around the area so there are plenty of spots to just sit and relax to watch the water and the guests float by on tubes or listen to the birds. At night George or his son,Nick came around and set up the camp fires complete with kindled wood and starter. We just lit them up and we enjoyed fires each night. We travelled from Madison Alabama and we are already trying to set up our next trip. I guarantee once the word gets out about this place, it will be hard to get in!!!! We had a great time at Gini and George's campsite! They were very friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. There's a great area in the river for small kids to play in, which our toddler loved. The bathrooms are super clean, and the area is well-maintained. We definitely recommend camping there.

Cute, secluded treehouse in quiet woodsy area. Very comfy bed and adorable A-frame cabin. Hosts could not have been nicer and it was a great place to relax.

Laura and Bill did an excellent job at making sure our needs were met. The grounds are on a small lake, it's very quiet and rustic. The bathrooms were clean and functional, the grouunds were clean. There were only a few other people booked that night, so we had our choice of spots and even moved a couple of times. Laura checked in on us a couple of times through the evening to make sure we had what we needed. It was my firs time camping in my Tesla, and this site was great for that. I live in Atlanta, so just wanted somewhere to get out of the city, take my dogs, and enjoy nature, and this hit the spot. Thanks Laura and Bill for a great stay!!

Great place to get away in Georgia! My family enjoyed our stay here in the quiet spot. The full hookup worked great and the spot was plenty big for our travel trailer, 23ft. Pulling into the spot was easy and it wasn’t too bad backing out. A larger RV would require an expert driver to back out of this spot due to surrounding trees and bend in the road. I would highly recommend this spot

Risin' RV

Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. Teaching people so they can teach others and pay it forward. Come support our mission by staying with us. Help out with your building or farming or engineering skills if you like.
