When accessing our property by vehicle, be prepared to drive 17 miles off of highway 79 with a 4 mile portion of that being a dirt road. We can not guarantee the condition of the dirt road portion of your drive for your stay, however the dirt road is graded weekly. We loved camping at Sweetwater Daze River camp! The grounds were very well maintained and setup was a breeze. The river was beautiful, and the atmosphere was peaceful. We had a great time hanging out by the river with a nice fire and watching the stars at night. But the best was going with Jay on a river tour! He has so much local knowledge about the river and the surrounding area. The places we got to see were stunning! So be sure to ask him about his boat tour, you won’t be disappointed. This is definitely one of our favorite camp sites, we will definitely be back!

Beautiful spot on the river! Semi secluded campground, peaceful river and a spring not far up it. We brought our kayaks and could have spent more time just exploring the river. We absolutely enjoyed it and plan to come back in the future. The only inconvenience was access to the river was not the easiest but sufficient. We had a few friendly pups come by every day to check on us and make sure we didn’t leave any food out. All in all it was a delightful spot and I hope it doesn’t get too much attention because I want it to be available wherever I get the chance to come back!

10 nights at Sweetwater Daze River Camp

This campsite is well maintained and beautiful! The host is excellent and the area is very low key. The river level was low, due to the beautiful sunny weather lately, and this makes everything in nature that much more scenic. There is something healing about being outside as the sun comes up and again as the sun goes down, overlooking the water.

Maggie & Mike are wonderful camp host. They are the friendliest, most helpful, kindest amazing people that we were blessed to meet. They ended up being the unexpected highlight, instead of an overnight stop over, towards our destination. Home is where the heart is and Maggie’s Musical Farm is an all warm embracing heart, a sanctuary for the soul.

1 night at Sweetwater Daze River Camp

Passing by in the night, Jay accommodated us on like 4 hours notice! Easy hookup, even in the dead of night! Woke up on the water, the dogs were able to get their zoomies out after a few days cooped up in the RV! Little fishing hut on the water was a perfect touch! Simple, easy, private, fun! We will definitely be back! Ask him about his cave exploring, spring floating boat tour add on!!!!! You will NOT be disappointed!

4 nights at Lake City Campground

Lake City Campground is somewhat remote & quiet - just what my husband & I were looking for. The common area bathrooms & kitchen were clean & convenient. The proximity to Lake Jackson & a few other nearby areas of interest such as Finks Mill and Andalusia were an added bonus for this location. If you’re looking for no crowds but nearby activities, then this is an ideal campground.

Very well maintained and welcoming space. The hosts were the sweetest! There were also 2 nice outdoor showers!!! Will definitely stay here again when we return to the area - hopefully will catch a jam next time 🎸😋

The camp site on Jay’s land was amazing! It was well kept, spacious, and quiet. He has full water, sewer, and electric hookups and the view of the river is unbeatable. I highly recommend this spot. We will definitely be back!
