The land uses were favorable for cattle grazing and turpentining through the 1800s. Many more pioneer families moved into the area and began their own business in the booming industrial opportunities of western Florida. It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals. Through generous donations, Preservation 2000 and the Florida Forever Program, more land was added to protect contiguous habitat of the Garcon Ecosystem. Cypress Landing RV Park is a family-oriented, locally-owned RV park that sits on the shores of beautiful Gantt Lake in South Alabama. The lake is approximately 2,700 acres in size with 21 miles of shoreline. FOB Pelican has an air conditioned trolley car converted into a bar that overlooks the bayou and a larger outdoor bar that overlooks the bayou. We also have a small beach with canoes and kayaks. There’s feeders that attract numerous turtles and fish to watch at feeding times. The bayou leads out to the Blackwater River accessing downtown Milton river walk or go south into the bay and Pensacola. We have an RV electrical and water hookup as well.

Jay and Suzette are excellent hosts . The location was very easily accessible to I-10 and the Emerald Coast beaches. Convenient grocery options nearby. It's a quiet place in the country the hosts are really welcoming and very knowledgeable it's great for Boondocking if you want your privacy you can also get a remote to the gate which was really convenient; the showers were clean with hot water, washer and dryer available, potable water. Owners checked in on me to make sure I was okay. My only drawback was the neighbours in the neighbouring property played their music pretty loud at night. I was too tired after a date at the beach to care. Other than that everything is cool. The price was right for me ;a weary traveller needing to stay someplace car and tent campingfor at least four days while I took in the beaches. Found a few dog friendly beaches within 50 miles , thx to Jay and Suzettes knowledge of the area. definitely worth it.see you all on down the road! Jen G, TX.

You won’t regret staying here. Whether you’re in a tent, van, RV, or just boondocking out of your vehicle, it’s a really comfortable and safe place to land. The owners genuinely give off that “welcome to auntie and uncle’s place” vibe, which made it feel easy right away. The other campers were kind and welcoming, but also respectful of quiet space, which I appreciated. I stayed in an RV spot but was SUV camping and still felt completely safe and comfortable. The facilities were extremely clean and clearly well maintained. They’re also thoughtfully set up, and there were affordable last-minute snacks available — or what I called “emergency coffee,” which honestly is a huge plus when you need it. I’d absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area. And the location is great. There are a ton of trails nearby through the forests and forest management areas. The Florida Trail is a quick drive away, and there are plenty of dog-friendly options. Overall I had a really good experience here.

I had a quiet and wooded campspot. There was a was a bathroom/shower house with a washer and dryer. The host, Joseph, was friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Our camper was set up just to the right of this magnificent oak. I moved my chair and table to its’ shade for my morning coffee and afternoon relaxing.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hidden Oak RV 1 at Brinn Farm. This is one of those rare places where the photos are beautiful — but the experience is even better in person. The site sits beside a stocked pond under a massive live oak, surrounded by wooded acreage. After check-in, we didn’t see another person the entire stay. It truly feels private, peaceful, and tucked away. The hosts were outstanding. We received a full orientation when we arrived, and they checked in by text during our stay to make sure everything was going well. You can tell they genuinely care about their property and their guests. The site itself is spacious and level. Full hookups worked perfectly, and everything was excellently maintained. What really sets this place apart is the natural soundscape. At night we heard coyotes in the distance and frogs near the pond. During the day, birds at sunrise, fish jumping in the water, and even cows and peacocks off in the distance. It’s immersive in a way that’s hard to capture in photos. I needed to work remotely one day, and my Starlink mini worked flawlessly — so it’s a great option if you need to blend work with a quiet retreat. If you’re looking for privacy, nature, and thoughtful hosts, this is an exceptional Hipcamp and I would not hesitate to book it. We will absolutely stay again.

You won’t meet nicer, more hospitable hosts. They’re working hard to realize their dream. This property has an island to explore with a marked walking path and lighting. The only way to get to it is via a floating dock. The owners are making improvements to the walking trail as well as finishing up a community kitchen complete with stove, sink, refrigerator and his and her bathrooms complete with showers for primitive and RV campers alike! You feel like you’re in a very remote place when you’re actually close to everything you might need. The property is filled with majestic oaks, cedar, magnolia and cypress trees. Absolutely wonderful! We will be back!

Thanks to the Reviews here AND the quick Reply to my HipCamp message ~ booked an unexpected getaway. WHAT a great place to start the new year and experience the 1st full moon. The hosts were super accepting and accommodating of my late arrival. It's only an hour away to put your toes in the sand! And that sparkling clean, hot shower is a huge bonus after a day at the beach. Even got a guided tour of the property. Peaceful & private ~ perfection! The hosts' care for the campers promotes an obvious feel of community. CanNOT wait to go back in the spring!

Weekend Trip to Brinn Farm

Our camping experience was awesome. Patrick’s Dad Pat met us at the entrance to the property and led us to a beautiful secluded spot. He also drove me around property to get me acquainted to the many acres available for walks. The property was extremely well maintained. It was renewing to have such a quiet property to enjoy walks, fishing (if interested) and star gazing. Everything as far as hookups was easy and we so enjoyed listening to birds, reading and relaxing. No cell service or WiFi but you will not miss it if you want to enjoy nature and solitude. We definitely would return for future visits.

We were able to explore, cook with a camping stove, build a fire, and enjoy very courteous company from our camp site owner. Ronald and Pat are a wonderful couple who created a special spot, super cozy and equipped, under the amazing high pines. We spend 2 nights with our baby and had a relax quiet family time. First time in nature for our trip and loved it! The garden is slowly developing in to a jewel between the forests trees. The gas heater did the work, we had nice and warm inside the tent.

Joseph is a very nice gentleman. We were made to feel welcome immediately. The area is a series of projects, but it is nice land, and Joseph has a great vision for the area. We had a good position for our rig with electricity and running water at our site. Just beware, the water comes from a well high in sulfur, so the smell might shock some people. It's perfectly okay. This is a camping area, not a start hotel. Some of the area needs improvement, but I think he's getting those things going. I'm sure it'll be even nicer once he can get some projects finished. Overall, good experience and a great host.
