Candid Review of Our One-Night RV Stay
We spent one night in this RV and while there were some positive aspects, our experience overall was quite difficult — especially with a child.
The good:
The host was truly kind, responsive, and tried to help with the issues that arose. I genuinely appreciate his effort and communication.
However, there were several serious concerns:
• Safety for children: This is not a kid-friendly campsite. There’s an electric wire fence meant to keep animals inside the enclosure, but it’s easily accessible to children. Despite the warning signs, kids are naturally curious. My child accidentally touched the wire and received a painful electric shock, which was very distressing.
• Cleanliness: When we arrived, the bed was made, but there was a strange white stain on the bedsheet — clearly visible once we lay down. That was uncomfortable and concerning.
• Water and lighting issues: There was no running water at night or in the morning. The toilet didn’t flush properly and we had to pour water manually from a kettle. Several lights inside the RV also weren’t working.
• Disturbing sight in the yard: Most shocking of all — there was a burned goat in the middle of the property, still smoking. My child saw the charred animal with the skull visible, and it was extremely traumatic. There was no warning or explanation, and it completely changed the tone of our stay.

May husband and I and Yorkie had a great time..Arcadia was wonderful he is there for whatever you needed..we enjoyed the outdoor movie he set up for us ..we made a nice fire and had a cook out .also loved the animals were adorable we took a walk to see them all. The bed was so comfortable we had a great night sleep was so quiet ..yes we would stay again..

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Rescue Ranch
Very private and secluded. We had lots of fun. Friend watching a movie outside on the projector , roasting marshmallows by the fire , playing with the animals. A very much hip camp vibe ! We enjoyed it and will be back again !

Weekend Trip to Neal’s Nest
It was a cute little setup! AC worked well and neighbors were nice. Only thing is we had to kill some brown widow spiders that were on the porch and close to the chairs under the table. I also paid for two bundles of firewood and never got them.

Weekend Trip to Neal’s Nest
We were searching for just SIMPLE. Neals Nest and Tina and her husband provided that. It was simple and provided that quietness we were looking for. We met other campers everyone was friendly. Florida has a leash law for pets but everyone we met had pets and were respectful of dogs needing to be dogs and not be on a leash. We met with Tina and they have a awesome Pit bull who has an awesome friendly disposition my 6 lb Chihuahua fell in love with him. They became best friends, this place is beautiful, simple, and peaceful. It offers what as a first time camper in many years would look for. I highly recommend Neals. An RV'er who is a contractor has an RV there, they showed up an the community camp fire and introduced themselves they had 2 beautiful great danes and a gorgeous Chihuahua and were respectful to ask if we minded if their dogs were able to run around... obviously as dog owners we said we absolutely didn't mind... Just a great weekend.

1 night at Neal’s Nest
Amazing character! Had a long journey for a week traveling. It was late in the afternoon when I made contact. I was welcomed warmly on such short notice. Granted there was a previous HC that checked out just that afternoon. I explained how far away I was and asked if it were at all possible just to sleep there. I didn’t care about any other amenities come near midnight. The fact that I entered the glamper and it had good A/C, comfortable bed, and a good cold shower I was in a great position. I woke up feeling a calm knowing that that would be the day got back home. Really helped clear my head in a peaceful quite private area. That simple gesture from her will always be one of my favorite times crossing paths with a complete stranger. Hopefully each of you will be able to cross paths with Tina.

We loved his rustic trailer… Arcadio was amazing , very accommodating and helpful! He helped source wood for us even though there was plenty of dead wood to cut for yourself. And we enjoyed a movie night followed by s'more's that he sourced for us as well! We’ll be back!

Loved the cabin we stayed in at Neal’s Nest. The property layout was perfect. It was quiet and cozy for my entire family. Neal’s Nest is a hidden gem that is tucked away and private but close to town. It’s super quiet and host is very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. I noticed the constellations our first night there so I shared it withTina when I saw her the following day. She shared some historical data about the town which was an added touch. Moreover we were able to visit several local eateries and two springs. The best thing for my family is that Neal’s Nest is pet friendly. We travel everywhere with our dogs and Neal’s Nest is accommodating to our furry friends. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations. We will be back.

my family & i have been tent camping, traveling all through the state of florida w rainbow springs state park being last on our list. we came across arcadio & his property & there was a camper to rent too!? we thought PERFECT - it's just a 15 minute drive to the swimming/kayaking area! we had add ons such as eggs, firewood & a movie night. wood was there upon arrival, he walked the eggs over when we got there & the movie night was a hit w the kiddos!
we were traveling w a 120lb doggy & him being off leash was an option.
arcadio is such a kind, laid back dude that strives to make your stay as comfortable as possible! anytime we had an issue he was on site within a couple of minutes ready to problem solve.
our site was right across from the playground, so the kids were free to come & go from there. everyday they looked forward to taking our fruit scraps to wilbur! (the piggy) beautiful sunrises & sunsets, handy outdoor shower, fire ring was perfect for our cooking needs too.
thank you for having us; we hope to be back some day 10/10 recommend :)

Giving this place a 5 plus Stars review would most definitely recommend staying at Neal's nest for anyone who may be traveling through the area one or two people or a couple with a small child it would be suitable great location very cozy and home feel great price and amazing owners no complaints only blessings

My kids and I stayed for the weekend, definitely enjoyed our little getaway! The kids had fun petting the goat and the playground, setting up a fire and the movie outside was perfect. Hosts were accommodating and friendly! Only issue was the smell of something dead but we were out in the woods so there’s no telling.. kids also loved showering outside ☺️

Weekend Trip to Neal’s Nest
We stayed in the cabin and it was so perfect for 2 people and a dog! Well stocked, beautifully decorated and very comfy. We had coffee on the porch in the morning. I would highly recommend!
I think the only thing that stood out to me is that the pillows were a bit flat so I just grabbed one of my own to throw on (a personal preference) and the showers water pressure was on the light side. The shower got super hot though, which I love.
This cabin is perfect for those who need a rest from traveling or want a weekend trip. It's only 30 mins to Cedar Key

Beautiful property with tall trees only a few miles from a variety of food. Today my family and I checked out Manatee Springs and caught a glimpse of 8 giant manatee in the clear springs. This is an awesome and peaceful escape from the city life! 🙌🏻 Great host and highly recommended this hipcamp adventure!
