We moved here in 1997 The home has had major remodels done on it. The lake is an old gravel pit to make road base for local road construction. The buoys in the lake are scuba projects from the local college CMU, and hold lots of fish. Other nesting platforms are for our local Geese and they hatch out in April-June. We airbnb 2 rooms in our home as a shared facility and have airbnbs in Northern Ca and Baja. Our home is off limits for campers as we need to respect the space for our other airbnb guests. But in an emergence please call, cell service works fine. port-a potty is gone for the winter November-April. port-a potty is clean and works great, May- Oct. If you are here in the winter you may use the trees or Mavericks gas station in 1.5 miles away. The first two pets are included at no additional cost. They all have great views and are very close to the town of Fruita. Every hipcampers can enjoy the beach and the pond between mid-May and October when its full. Swimming not recommended! The property is used by THE GONDOLA SHOP, which restores ski gondolas. Monday to Friday, you might hear some light noise and see employees walking around. For that reason and the potential hazard WE DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN on our property. We ask that all vehicles drive no faster than 10 miles per hour for the same reason. We will consider a group of campers or mix camper/tents roof tents as long as you have your own bathroom to share. Please email us with any requests you might have. We have upgraded to Spectrum’s Premium 1 GB service providing about 150 MB to 300 MB of download service in each drive. For reference, it takes 15 MB to watch a movie. Decide on dinner plans, be it PIZZA OVEN, GAS GRILL, CHARCOAL GRILL, HIBACHI, or FIRE PIT, and pop over to the local SAFEWAY for supplies. Hang any wet laundry on the CLOTHES LINE behind the potty. Then focus on your wellness with cold and heat therapy. Take a dip in the COLD PLUNGE (bring your ice). Relax in the THERAPY TUB, up to 5 min in each of 4 seats, each one designed for different muscles, for a total of 20-min. max soak. Open 9AM-9PM. If you’re in the mood for some primping, there’s a HAIR DRYER and MIRROR to enjoy. When you’re ready for dinner, wheel your cooler/supplies (flat cart available) to the PICNIC TABLES and GRILLS for your evening meal. Follow your meal by socializing in ADIRONDACK CHAIRS around the FIRE PIT watching the sunset colors, clouds, rainbows, and stars, or playing evening games. Finally, sleep the night away in our quiet residential neighborhood.

Stayed here in early December and it is such a great spot! Nice sunset viewing, easy access to the sites, quiet, and it's a rare Colorado location near water. Mike stopped by to chat and is a very accommodating host. I would highly recommend visiting this campsite, especially in the warmer months.

I had a great time camping at double D Farms Dirk is a really nice guy and it’s beautiful there absolutely beautiful sorry for the delay on the review. Campsite was very clean with an outhouse that you’re available to use. I also got electricity and freshwater great price for those amenities. I plan on camping there again.

5 nights at GECKO GULCH--MOUNTAIN BIKE HEAVEN

Wonderful site and perfectly situated as a base for Fruita area riding. We were able to easily access 18 Road, Kokopelli Trails, Lunch Trails, and Rabbit Valley. Also quick 15 minute ride into town. Host is super responsive, friendly, and helpful. If you are coming to Fruita to go mountain biking and want to camp, I can't imagine there's a much better place!

This is a great spot on the river, near bike paths and downtown. There were beautiful views and great amenities. Honestly, we caught a great rate for a nightly stay. We would have stayed longer, but the weekly rate was a bit spendy.

It's been wonderful staying here in this property. The owners are very nice people and the property very peaceful. It's surrounded by small farm lands you can bike around and take pictures of different crops. The property has chickens, goats, and a horse. Their outside shower and bathroom are super nice.

Great experience camping on the farm; would highly recommend. The indoor bathroom was nice and clean. The site was easy to find and underneath a beautiful tree with a fire pit and outdoor table and chairs. Close enough to town and wineries, but feels nice and remote.

If we could give this twenty stars we would. This is what we imagined 'HipCamp' would be when we joined. A lovely private site, amongst verdant peach orchards, in the shadow of massive Mesa'a. Wine country and the cute town of Palisade on your doorstep. The site has excellent water and electric hookups, wood chips surround the trailer, a top of the range fire pit and table and chairs (plus free firewood) is provided. And on top of it all, charming hosts in Eric and Amanda, who make you both feel at home and also ensure privacy. Simply can't fault this site; and we will be back!

No highway noise, no neighbors, no clutter! Unobstructed 360 degree view of distant mountain ranges with nothing but open Prarie and desert plains in between. Absolutely loved this space. Plenty of room inside to set up a cot and sleep in total comfort.

Weekend Trip to Bear Family Ranch RV and Camping

Absolutely fantastic stay! I was greeted by the host upon arrival, and they couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. They gave me a full lay of the land—showing me where I’d be staying, where I could walk on their property, local trails to check out, and great places to visit nearby. Grand junction is only 20 mins away so this was PERFECT! Once I got settled in and explored, holy cow—this property is stunning. The trails are not only beautiful but also really well maintained, raked, and clearly marked, which was such a treat for me and my dog to enjoy. They’ve also created the cutest tent camping sites, and you can tell so much care goes into keeping the whole property welcoming and enjoyable. The amenities were just as described, and I was able to easily plug in and charge up all my appliances without any issues. Between the scenery, the setup, and the kindness of the hosts, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. I’d definitely come back here, especially with a group for tent camping. Excellent property, wonderful people—highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Great boondocking spot. The winery grounds are lovely. The camping area is an empty field. Nice clean porta potties with a water setup for washing hands. Nice views and a sweet little town. I will stay again.
