Our camp area is right next to our home. We live on 2 acres which is apart of our families 500 acre ranch and home to a summer camp and retreats. There are nice hiking trails we can direct you to as long as the National Forest isn't closed. We have a few picnic tables, outdoor electrical, a grill, fresh spring water, water hook up and beautiful scenery all around. We do own a few ca.  Our space isn’t huge but we are happy to share. We live in a remote area and its beautiful and quiet.  There is a local town 6 miles down the road that has several places to eat and one small place to get some grocery. This property that we live on has been lived on now by 4 generations. My grandpa bought this land with his brother in 1940s. His brother eventually sold his portion leaving my grandpa with a little over 500 acres...We also run retreats off and on year round on the main property and offer a wide variety of things for our clients. Due to COVID, and the strange year had, we thought that this would help us gain a little of our money lost as well as meet some really cool travelers along the way. We call this God's country because it is a unique and beautiful peace of land, even in the driest of moments. And...there is beautiful manzanita trees all over property. We personally live 1/2 mile from the main part of the property Jameson Ranch, where the summer camp is held. I love to garden and are in the process of expanding our portion of the property to putting in fruit orchards and berry bushes. Our whole property also borders the Sequoia National Forest and there are some fun walking trails around there. Its very peaceful here and a reconnect with nature so to speak if that is what you are looking for. We hope to share this little bit of our heaven with you. We live on this 6 acres of beautiful land with a large variety of trees and plants. It also features a small beach and a Pickleball court free to use. Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills on route to Sequoia National Park makes our location very convenient. This is agricultural land which mainly grow citrus, nuts and other tree crops. Citrus groves have windmachines for frost protection and if the nighttime temperature dips below 36 degrees, they start up automatically. This can be noisy depending on how severe the frost threat is to the crops. We are 5 minutes from great restaurants and 45 minutes from Sequioa National Park.

Had a wonderful one-night stay. Was a *very* well-maintained area and would highly recommend it for anyone. Hosts were very friendly and made us feel at home, even leaving on some lighting in case we arrived at/after dusk. Very cool spot and would absolutely stay there again.

Super clean and comfortable set up. Location was great- located next to some nice eateries and breweries/ cafe. Not far from the sequoia national park which is just incredible! Wonderful shower and bathroom facility with clean towels. Sonja was a super nice and friendly host- she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She makes pickled veggies and jams that you can buy. We had a great time!!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Sonja’s tent on her land. She was very friendly and provided cookware including coffee and snacks. The bathroom was lovely and the shower was great after a day of hiking. There were restaurants and coffee shops a short drive away; plus it was very close to the sequoia entrance. Would highly recommend!

3 nights at Camp Hye Sierra

Awesome private getaway just off the main road and 10 miles away from the Kings Canyon visitors center. We had a large group (9 adults and 10 kids) and we were situated right in front of the lake wheee the kids had a blast on the canoes and fished from the pier. We woke up to deer grazing in the field and turkeys later in the day. There were also some dairy cows from the ranch close by but they didn’t come back after the second night. This site has real bathrooms and showers with electricity to recharge electronics. Thanks to Chris for keeping the grounds clean and cows at bay! Highly recommend Hye Camp!

The tent accommodations provided by Sonja were wonderful. I felt so welcome and at home right away. This is a more rural area, so expect to hear the neighbors animals (dogs and rooster) during your stay. I woke up to a flock of wild turkeys surveying the land, as well as a deer! I would gladly stay here again :)

Weekend Trip to Camp Hye Sierra

Camp Hye Sierra is a classic summer camp setting, usually used for long kids’ camps. Our spot was by one of the lakes, with paddle boats, a boathouse with running water and flush toilets, and an arbor that came in handy during an unseasonal rainstorm. We were the only campers, so we had our choice of space. If it were busy, finding a flat tent spot could be harder. The area is remote, quiet, and private — you can almost hear echoes of past camp life. The only downside was a large number of wasps.

If you're new into camping or even an expert this place is your place, the amenities are perfect, we slept so good in the tent and Sonja is very kind and helpful with everything, she truly thinks about every detail, the views are beautiful and they also have a trampoline (my favorite part, super fun for lay down at night and watch the starts) PLUS, just 5 min away you can find a coffee shop and they have 2 cats and sometimes one of them come to say hi, so if you love animals this is your place

We enjoyed camping on Sonja’s land. She was very welcoming as soon as we pulled in. We expected nothing but grass to set our tent on but Sonja already had a tent, sleeping bags and pads set up. We still set our own tent up, which she was very okay with. We had access to a grill, plus a box of goodies. The bathroom was very clean. There were a couple of sweet ducks on the property and some friendly cats. There was a dog in the neighboring backyard that would bark occasionally through the night, so if you’re a light sleeper, make sure to bring earplugs. Although we only slept there for a night, we enjoyed our stay overall!

Tent camping lakeside was perfect. Location was great too. Very close to the General Grant entrance of Kings Canyon. Plenty of amenities available. Went out in a canoe multiple times. Kids fished off the dock and had some pretty good luck. We all enjoyed swims in the lake. Plenty of firewood at the communal fire pit. Flushing toilets and running water was nice. The bathroom did have a lot of dead bugs, but were great once cleaned. Trash cans emptied regularly. Chris was our on-property point of contact. He was super helpful and responsive.

3 nights at Camp Hye Sierra

Our family enjoyed camping here for 3 nights and 4 days. The property is off the main highway on the way to Sequoia National Park, and although the road is a little windy and mostly a one-lane, it is paved. Cell service is spotty and mostly places nonexistent. We called before to notify the property manager and he gave us directions on how to get there. Upon arrival we had little help from the manager but took it upon ourselves to just figure it out. The photos on Hipcamp are a bit deceiving. The pavilion is right next to the lakeside camp area, the bathrooms and the basketball court, soccer field are walking distance. The pond is catch and release (the fish like worms!) so bring your rods. It’s pretty murky and I wouldn’t swim in it though. But he did say it’s tested monthly. Pros: hot water in bathrooms, water bottle filling station, wood provided for fire pit Cons: bullfrogs are LOUD at night and kept us awake (bring ear plugs), minimal guidance from property management Overall: we enjoyed our stay. It’s basically an Armenian Church Camp during the mid-summer months and they must rent out camp space the remaining weeks. The property manager is more like a groundskeeper but everything was easy to manage and figure out. Other notes: we saw glow worms by the fire pit! They must get fireflies later in the season. It seems like there is no designation between lakeside 1, 2 vista 1, 2. You just find a spot and camp there.
