We have a long acre with a dozen chickens, greenhouses, a yurt, and a lot of plans for the future.  We hope to one day renovate the old shed into rentals along with a bathroom/kitchen unit, but for now it's only camping.Learn more about this land:We are in the process of developing an area to host travelers, and currently we have a basic camping area and facilities just outside of the center of Arcata. We have a compost toilet, drinking water, and a number of chickens who may visit you (fresh eggs also available). Also provide a table to cook on and a seating area to catch the last sun of the day (if it's not overcast). We are not an option for people sleeping in their vehicles (2-3 minute walk from parking area to camping area). We only rent out one spot per night so you will have the area to yourselves.

Bayside Cabin

Come stay in our cozy little cabin tucked in an alder forest.  Only a few minutes drive from downtown Arcata, it’s like being in the middle of the woods, right in town. This is a quiet neighborhood and is bike-friendly for getting around town. Feel free to ask us for recommendations on places to eat, get a drink, or find an adventure in Arcata and surrounding areas.

We are located less than 40 minutes from Redwood National and State Parks where you can find incredible hiking trails! 

The Redwood Stumphouse

Similar to a treehouse, The Stumphouse sits on an elevated deck wrapped around an old growth Redwood stump and is surrounded by large Redwood trees. The site is a short walk uphill from the parking area. Please feel free to ask about access before booking or review the photos section for pictures of the path if you need more details. The Stumphouse is large enough for 2 sleeping pads inside and there is space on the deck for one more, however please note that the deck is not covered. A quick walk downhill brings you to our family's farm (where farm products are available for purchase, see below) and above the stump house are logging roads and acres of forest land. Neighbors are nearby but not visible due to the lush environment and large neighboring acreages. The air is clean and fresh as we are 5 miles from the ocean and surrounded by forests. As far as history, our land was logged in 1915 and several old growth stumps are scattered on the property as evidence. Since then the forest has regrown and the young trees are already hundreds of feet tall. A twenty minute bike ride or five minute car ride will bring you to one of two nearby towns, and spectacular beaches are also close by. 

Eureka, just minutes to the south and Arcata just minutes to the north offer dining and entertainment of all kinds. Farmers markets, movie theaters, live music, boat tours of Humboldt Bay, breweries, wineries, cider companies, roller-derby and more, there is always something fun to do in the area. Outdoor walks and hikes in both the forest and along beautiful beaches and coastline are abundant. Patrick's Point State Park and the town of Trinidad 15 to 20 minutes drive north offer some of the most breathtaking coastal views and beaches in the country. With 6 rivers, 3 lagoons, Humboldt Bay and the ocean nearby there are almost always opportunities for great boating and fishing. If gambling is your thing there are 3 casinos just a 10 to 20 minutes drive away. Fresh eggs, cream top cow milk and yogurt can be purchased in the barn when available as well as soaps, salves, tinctures and hydrosol, all produced right on the farm!

Looking down from the Stumphouse you can see the Main house where you will park. This is also where the bathroom is located. 

Next to the River

We have been a family owned RV Park/Campground for over 40 years. This is a very rustic, old-fashioned campground located at the end of a neighborhood next to the river. 

As mentioned this is also a  RV Park so there will be RVs on site. It is an open field campground dispersed with trees. Neighbors will be present. 

The river access is right over the levee just a few minutes walk from your campsite. Fishing on the river is allowed but you need a license.

We are near the woods and river so wildlife is present. Please make sure your food is put away nightly to discourage critters from coming into camp. 

The campground is just a short drive from a selection of hiking or biking trails. As well as other attractions like the Jet Boat Tours and Trees of Mystery.  

Located at the end of a glen cell service in this area can be spotty or non existent depending on the carrier. 

Wifi is available near main house but is limited to emails, messaging and mapping your next adventure.

August and September there will be fisher persons in the campground. So be warned of early morning engine noise as they head out to the river for fishing. Electric cars that want to charge there is a $10 fee at time of service. Must make arrangements ahead of a time because 50 amp services are limited. Plus you need to bring your own adapters. 

13th St Treehouse

Inspired by the playful energy of a treehouse, and utilizing the foundational strength of the redwoods, to create a home above the forest floor.

Glamping in a tree!
Queen size bed and propane heat.
Small stove provided, storage cubbies, and internet.

This is an “Off the Grid” experience, located at the end of
a quite street by Coopers Gulch.

Does not accommodate big cooking projects, there is no sink, nor a kitchen set up. There is a spigot for hand washing, teeth brushing, etc.

Check out the great places to eat locally,
or buy take-out to eat on the deck. We provide a kettle and a selections of
tea.

NO electricity. However, there is a solar powered battery unit with USB ports
and appliance plugins.

There is a COMPOSTING TOILET outside.

This Treehouse is a unique experience nestled in between four
Giant Redwoods. Feel the connection to nature,
listen to the birds sing, take in the lush green forest off of the deck.
