Tiny Cabin #2 (TC2) sits on top of the property with Mountain to Ocean views. It's a great place for a weekend getaway for Star gazing, watch a sunset and City lights. A place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. A short drive away is the towns of Alpine and Descanso, Cuyamaca State Park and Laguna Mountain. San Diego Beaches are down I-8 . TC2 has two seating areas for your privacy. Plus, plenty of space to roam around. It's above the common game and dining area. Inside has a queen size bed, a small refrigerator, sink, Coffee maker, and cabinet with cooking supplies. There is a microwave, one burner hot plate. The BBQ is propane. We have made some improvements to the TC put in new sturdy steps, bed frame and lights. While a campfire ban is on we do allow Duraflame type logs. The property is located in a high risk fire zone.

Built in the 50’s it is sitting on 2 parcels and is over ½ acre in size. We also have 2 other cabins for rent in Julian for larger groups. The outhouse that you see was used when it was first built and now is for storage. The original owner built the house himself and it was originally on piers alone with no other foundation! There is a folder in the bedroom closet of the house over the years. The decorations were here when we bought it so we kept them to preserve the house’s uniqueness. We treasure this house which is nestled amongst the trees and has so many beautiful birds that visit. Many turkeys love to stop by too! If you hear the deep cooing from the monster doves (who are very shy) you can try to spot one. They are amazing. We really hope you love it as much as we do.

THE AREA: Tucked away under a grove of oak trees, and circled by manzanita trees, sits "Manzanita Cove". A secluded glamping site that contains everything you need, including a private (seasonal pond). This private site is provided with about 1/2 acre of seclusion and equipped with everything needed for an amazing outdoor experience. The total property is about 5 acres, but is shared with our AirBnB: "Julians Red Fox Retreat", which can be booked separately or together with our "Manzanita Cove" glamping site. Because of the shared space, we do limit the number of guests to two, and ask that you be respectful of the space and noise level when booking independently. There are several hammocks around the grounds to relax as well as a few short trails to walk. The property is about a 7 minute drive from downtown Julian. WINTER/ SPRING GUESTS: Access to the site is down a bit of a steep dirt road, so we suggest that winter and Spring campers (wet weather) have AWD/4WD or park at the top and walk down. Otherwise is it accessible by most vehicles other parts of the year. Please do not stop on the hill when leaving. You will spin your tires and damage the road.

We absolutely loved our stay at this A-frame! From start to finish, everything was seamless. The directions were very straightforward, making it incredibly easy to get in and out, and the location was stellar—truly the perfect setting for our anniversary. The space itself was cozy, charming, and exactly what we were hoping for. Ken was a wonderful host and sent us some fantastic recommendations for the area that really enhanced our stay. Great location. Our visit was nice and peaceful. We were initially concerned with the tiny heater that was provided but we found that it worked great, we even had to turn it off halfway through the night. The Eagle Nest has a great view while still being secluded in the rocks and Manzanita.

You can tell there was quite a bit of thought and care in the layout and construction which makes for a stress free and relaxing stay. Ken’s Eagles Nest was the perfect retreat for our babymoon. The cabin was exceptionally cozy and stocked with thoughtful amenities that truly exceeded our expectations — a clean composting toilet, a warm outdoor shower, an easy-to-use outdoor stove, and a great campfire pit for relaxing evenings. The huge windows offered stunning views that made the whole place feel peaceful and connected to nature. We felt comfortable, cared for, and completely recharged. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a beautiful, serene getaway!

We loved our time at eagles nest! Ken our host was great! He gave us great instructions on how to get to the site and also gave us many recommendations on places to visit around the area. It was a nice place to stay for a few days to get away and relax. It had everything there for you including a comfy bed. I read, did some painting and did some hiking fairly close. My dog enjoyed herself, too. There is a little car noise that I didn’t expect but it didn’t take away from the good experience. I’ll definitely come back again.

Weekend Trip to Luxury Glamping - Manzanita Cove

This was hands down the best “glamping” experience I’ve ever had (and I’ve been enjoying visiting an array of Hipcamp sites for the past 5 years). The land is absolutely breathtaking - quiet, serene, natural. We saw beautiful birds, a tiny frog, and a few deer during our stay. The location is sublime. Feels like you’re deep in a nature preserve (super quiet, no light pollution), but local shops are actually minutes away if you want to venture out. The site itself is so well thought out! The spacious tent was beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfy and warm! The outdoor kitchen was literally nicer than my own indoor kitchen. Preparing and enjoying meals was the highlight of our stay. Oh…and the bathroom? Blew me away. Pristine bathroom with a huge hot water shower. I felt like royalty during my stay at Manzanita Cove and I can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary weekend and it was the perfect overnight stay! The cabin was really cute, clean, and tidy and we were able to use the stove/pots/pans to cook dinner. It was our first time using a compostable toilet but we had no issues with the it & the shower got nice and warm too. It was nice to be disconnected from WiFi but we still had good cell service as needed. Would definitely recommend!

We didn’t know what to expect since it had been many years since our last camping trip, but Granite Mountain Campsite exceeded all our expectations! We decided to go glamping to ease back into camping, and it was absolutely perfect—from booking to the actual stay. The view was stunning, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. It’s private, quiet, and the perfect place to disconnect from the outside world. Everything was spotless—from the room and campsite amenities to the restrooms and showers.
