We had a great time camping here! The site was beautiful tucked amongst the redwoods and it felt very protected and private. We had our dog with us and felt comfortable with her off leash since the campsite was so contained. It was really nice to have a bathroom and picnic table too. The short nature trail was cute and we found a few banana slugs! The written directions from the host were great and super easy to follow to find camp. Highly recommend staying on Chris’s land for your next weekend in the redwoods!

This was a beautiful spot! It’s very private except for the rare car that drives by. So many big beautiful redwood trees surround the large site. Picnic table and fireplace is a nice touch.

This little spot is amazing!! So peaceful and quiet- ultimate relaxation. The surrounding trees are spectacular, the air feels crisp and clean, all you can hear is the breeze blowing through the trees. It was really nice to have an indoor potty (with motion sensor lights) too. We had our 3 dogs with us and they could just kind of mosey around the camp site. There is a very short little trail they enjoyed checking out. We pulled our tent trailer which was a bit tricky getting into the camp site but the owner happened to run into us on the road and was happy to help navigate us in. The road up to the site is very steep in places but we did fine in our truck. It takes about 15 min to get here from the highway. Totally worth it for this tranquil little spot. We'd definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous spot. Right off the road but there’s not a lot of road traffic so it still feels nice and secluded. The propane fire pit is a nice touch so I recommend bringing some propane!

Tent camped under the canopy of redwoods for three nights with family including our little dog. The road in is steep, like others have said, but my Honda Civic Hatchback made it just fine. The site is well maintained, fairly level, and covered with wood chips. The propane (bring a tank) fire pit added ambiance and a bit of warmth at night. It was nice to have a bathroom available with a motion sensor light (it will turn off when you're inside but waving your hands turns it back on). We didn't experience a lot of cars coming & going but some. Figured it's par for the course since folks live in the area. We did have a neighborhood dog come visit us but he didn't stick around long. The host, Chris, was very responsive and helpful which added to an overall positive experience. Would definitely stay again if camping in the area.

This campsite was the perfect spot for our Redwoods/pacific coast roadtrip! We felt safe knowing there were homes nearby, but also felt privacy like we were alone in the woods. Having the bathroom with a light was great even though we brought our headlamps. As first time campers some distant animal sounds at night kept us alert but nothing bothered us at our site. The hiking trail didn't amount to much, but it was nice for a little morning exploring.

Beautiful Redwood canopy to be under for a couple of nights. Flat camp spot, covered in woodchips which helps with dust. Private short trail down into the woods where there was a dry creek (summer time). I imagine it has some water in other seasons. The trail made for safe, independent exploration for the kids. The propane fire place was an awesome bonus during summer months in CA as no place is safe for an actual campfire. Just remember to bring your own propane tank! The bathroom was a convenience. Looking up from the middle of camp is a great view. Quiet nights.

Beautiful spot for camping, we had a great time and spent a whole day just relaxing at camp. Bathroom was very convenient and very clean as far as campground bathrooms go. Wood chips on the ground made for a comfortable tent camping experience. Even though the ground beneath the chips was a little hard to get stakes into, it didn't matter much because the site is so well sheltered from any winds. Occasional vehicles on the nearby road during the day, but no one bothered us. Got a visit from a neighbors dog early one morning but he ran off when I started moving around. Don't travel with a propane tank so we didn't get a chance to try the fire pit- would be nice if the host provided some fuel but I get it. Definitely recommend 4 wheel drive for the road up to the site. Overall a very lovely stay, thanks Chris!

We loved camping here. I was astounded by the quiet. It was as if even the birds were being polite. A few quick thoughts:
1. getting here wasn't really an issue. I took one wrong turn which set me down the wrong path. Basically, just follow GPS until the very end and then instead of turning down the "No VRBO" driveway, continue straight until the next property.
2. bring a propane tank for the stove.
3. if you drink coffee, hit up Fogline in Arcata. Incredible setting and coffee.
