Other than these neighbors, the area feels secluded, especially at the fire pit and barn area. Fitzgerald is a historical area. Fitzgerald station is nearby, and served as a stop on the Butterfield overland stagecoach mail route that was used in the 1800s. Downtown Springdale is 2 miles away, and the pubs and restaurants cater to bikers. A paved trail is planned for the near future that will provide bike access to downtown.*Note* Backing up to a turn around area will be required for exit from the RV spots.

While in town, the site is near the library and minor shopping. Local Ahart's beer wine & groceries are great attractions. The Ozark National Forest is an easy walk - only a half mile away. Incredible year round hiking. Even closer is the White River which has great fly fishing and maybe even catch a sighting of river otters.

Weekend Trip to Bigfoot County Campgrounds

Found some trees perfect for a hammock, hiked down the rock trail, made a campfire cake, had camp coffee and enjoyed the scenery. It was my kind of party. Camper was in good shape, smelled and looked clean. Having a flushable toilet, a queen size bed to sleep in, and the option to use the stove were all very convenient (especially with a 4 year old). Great place for the price, I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was peaceful and fun. Host was responsive.

We went in the fall so the creek was dry but I can’t wait to come back and explore more in the Spring Jill was a great host - met us when we got there to make sure we had what we needed! I hope to be back someday ski !

We got there shortly after sunset, but we were able to find the site, no problem! Usually you expect to orangutan hang off a tree and aim for a hole when camping, but they provide a luxury private bucket toilet experience, 10/10. Our only regret was not seeing the note about exploring the old logging trails before we left for a different hike. Check under the water jug! A bunch of cute mushrooms around the site too. Also a great site for bird watching!

Wonderful site! Clean, quiet, and beautiful views. We just stayed one quick night and car camped but all went well. Easy to find and close to everything Bentonville and all the mountain biking trails, especially the back 40. Bathrooms were very clean and easily accessible.

Would give 10 stars if I could. Not only is the location perfect, scenery beautiful, and very secluded, but the hosts are great. We had a flat tire and didn't realize it until the next morning. Jerry came out, aired up the tire so we could move to flat ground, and helped get the spare on. Will 1000% be coming back (for a third time haha)

And this isn’t even a pretty sunset! Just wait until you get one while you’re here.

This was my second time camping at the host’s land, and it was another great experience. The campsite has a large open area surrounded by trees, which makes it both spacious and private. The host had firewood ready, which was a thoughtful touch. It’s become one of my favorite campgrounds in Northwest Arkansas, and I’ll definitely be coming back often.

Our two night stay was awesome. Even able to find our spot in the dark after visiting the museum and grabbing dinner in Bentonville. It had been raining several days before but the short section of dirt road was not terrible and the site was in great shape - just wet grass. Biking trailheads are close by and downtown trails (like Coler) a short drive. Showers were nice and hot and welcome after our ride. Late October so only a couple of other campers - very quiet nights! Definitely recommend and will stay again next time in Bentonville!
