You have many camping options:
1) Streamside Camping: Secluded tent sites with easy access to Cadron creek – many with picnic tables, fire pits, grills, and lamp posts
2) RV Camping: Limited sites, pull-through, up to 30 feet, level, hard gravel base, with basic hookups (electricity, no full sewer)
3) Dispersed Camping: Outside of the campground there are nearly 100 acres available for camping. If you are up to roughing it a bit we'll point you in the right direction.
3) Cabins and Glamping: For those that like to settle right in we have rustic cabins and campers with modern comforts (some include AC, heating, and kitchenettes)
Activities and amenities include swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, a 6-acre foraging field and 9-hole Frisbee golf course, bouldering, zen/meditation deck, climbing, psicobloc and more outdoor pursuits than one has time to pursue. Children can enjoy the Ninja rope course with zipline, slackline, and rope swing and petting Biscuit and Buttercup – our favored Kunekune forest pigs. And, Woolly Hollow State Park, Cove Creek Natural Heritage Area, Persimmon Ridge Resort and Greer's Ferry Lake are a short drive away.
We invite you to our little piece of paradise on the Cadron. Bathe in a forest of tall standing pines and oak trees. Sit on the bank of a cascading stream. Embrace nature. We lie at the edge of civilization but we have good cell phone service and water hydrants and electrical outlets for recharging phones. And from March through November hot water showers are freely available.
Our place is a bit rough, rugged and unruly yet we call it home -- a place where everyone regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, political views, religion, or culture is welcomed to come enjoy nature's marvelous works and wonders. The cottage has two double beds in the lower level bedroom as well as a queen bed in the upper level loft. A futon couch in the living room folds out to a double bed, as needed. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils of every kind. Both the stove and refrigerator are full size, there is also a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and the kitchen table seats six. Bed linens, towels, pillows and blankets are supplied. The bath is a tub and shower combination. There is a charcoal grill in the yard, but please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid. Enjoy our screened deck, covered picnic area, and outdoor fire pit and there is ample level parking for vehicles, canoes, and other outdoor gear. We offer Satellite TV. Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!!
There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river.
BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway.
Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

The house utilizes a composting toilet and greywater systems, emphasizing sustainability. We designed this as a place to unplug, so don't have WiFi, a microwave or a TV.
The water is set to HOT, and we have it set there because the hot water heater is a travel trailer size, so it only puts out a small amount of hot water. Please don't burn your hands washing them!
Also feel free to turn it down if you need to, it is right under the kitchen sink.
We recommend expecting a quick shower or turning the water off and on to soak your hair if you need to wash it and then lathering up.
If the house is smelling bad in the bathroom, that is not normal and we will come and fix it.

We absolutely loved our time here!! There were a few other campers at campsites pretty far away from us. We usually camp in our Rooftop Tent but decided to enjoy the cabin for this weekend and it was really cozy and fun! The views of the creek were gorgeous!!

We had such a wonderful stay at this secluded cabin in Jasper, Arkansas. The privacy and the hot tub were absolutely the highlights — exactly what we were hoping for. I have an overreactive dog, so I was a little nervous at first when we noticed a couple of free‑range dogs around the property. They checked us out briefly and then went on their way. A Husky stopped by twice a day just to say hello before wandering back home.
There’s also a lovely little creek on the property, perfect for sitting beside and listening to the water. Both of my dogs adored it — they were in heaven the entire trip.
Kara, the owner, was incredibly helpful and attentive to anything we needed. Her kindness made the stay even better. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to The Ridge at Buffalo Point
We had so much fun at this cabin! It’s the right size for a weekend getaway with a bed, small Roku TV, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, grill, and fire pit. The private bathhouse was a short walk from the cabin and was nice after a long day of outdoor activities. The property also offers a disc golf totem, swings, and open area to run around in. The location is also really close to the lower area of the Buffalo River. Easily a 5-10 minute drive to anything. Also, loved having Wild Bills, a gas station and convenience store, a short walk away for anything we forgot or needed. Loved meeting the gray kitty on the property. He was an absolute sweetheart and loved pets. Would definitely stay here again!!

The whole campground is full of beautiful spots to swim watch the water and hang out. Tanners pool trail was outstanding with so many waterfalls and spots to play in the water! This simple little cabin was better than we ever could have imagined. Sitting on the porch listening to the water flow, was a dream come true. A great step up from tent camping w/o getting too fancy! My dogs also enjoyed their selves very much. 10/10 definitely recommend!!

Beautiful property! Very kind hosts! Have already recommended to friends wanting to float in the area. Such incredible diversity of flora and fauna. Great for an unplugged getaway with the fam. Hoping to go back if we are ever in the area again!

It was very quiet and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. The private bath house was very clean and very updated. We used the Landry facilities and that was nice as well. We did not go to Buffalo River. We were looking for somewhere quiet to enjoy a few days and this was a perfect getaway. The cabin was very cute and clean and had everything we needed and then some.
