2) RV Camping: Limited sites, pull-through, up to 30 feet, level, hard gravel base, with basic hookups (electricity, no full sewer)
3) Dispersed Camping: Outside of the campground there are nearly 100 acres available for camping. If you are up to roughing it a bit we'll point you in the right direction.
3) Cabins and Glamping: For those that like to settle right in we have rustic cabins and campers with modern comforts (some include AC, heating, and kitchenettes)
Activities and amenities include swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, a 6-acre foraging field and 9-hole Frisbee golf course, bouldering, zen/meditation deck, climbing, psicobloc and more outdoor pursuits than one has time to pursue. Children can enjoy the Ninja rope course with zipline, slackline, and rope swing and petting Biscuit and Buttercup – our favored Kunekune forest pigs. And, Woolly Hollow State Park, Cove Creek Natural Heritage Area, Persimmon Ridge Resort and Greer's Ferry Lake are a short drive away.
We invite you to our little piece of paradise on the Cadron. Bathe in a forest of tall standing pines and oak trees. Sit on the bank of a cascading stream. Embrace nature. And although we lie at the edge of civilization we have good cell phone service and water hydrants and electrical outlets for recharging phones and the such are freely available for our guests to use. From March through November hot water showers are also freely available.
Our place is a bit rough, rugged and unruly yet we call it home -- a place where everyone regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, political views, religion, or culture is welcomed to come enjoy nature's marvelous works and wonders. Ratchford Buffalo Farms is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on roughly 500 acres. Where our Buffalo, Cattle and other animals graze in the meadows and fields and roam the hills and hollows and drink from 11 free flowing springs. My family has lived in these parts for over 150 years ever since my great grandfather settled here from Georgia. This land has been used for may things. From raising cotton, corn, hogs, cattle and at one time my family was one of the largest strawberry producers in the state and always raised a large vegetable garden. I can still remember my daddy plowing this ground with a big black team of mules. For the past 20 years we have raised Buffalo. But the commitment has always been the same. Taking the time to help your neighbor, even if he does not ask. Keeping your word, a man is only as good as his word . Treating people fairly and with respect, if you can not respect others you can not respect yourself. And for each generation to leave the land in better shape than when you started farming it.

Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!!
There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river.
BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway.
Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

Omg what a beautiful, amazing, secluded spot we went with our 3 children and stayed at the cabin we had such an amazing time!! The whole campground is full of beautiful spots to swim watch the water and hang out. Tanners pool trail was outstanding with so many waterfalls and spots to play in the water! We will absolutely be coming back and making this a regular family camping spot!! 😊

This simple little cabin was better than we ever could have imagined. Sitting on the porch listening to the water flow, was a dream come true. A great step up from tent camping w/o getting too fancy! My dogs also enjoyed their selves very much. 10/10 definitely recommend!!

We loved our stay at the Buffalo Farm cabin 1! It was exactly as pictured and went above and beyond our expectations. Star gazing while in the hot tub was unbelievable! We also saw a fox in the field behind the cabin. The cabin was in a great location - in the quiet countryside, but not too remote. An added bonus was LC’s tour of his farm. It was fun to see the animals (some close up) but our favorite was getting to feed the buffalo. LC is an amazing host and took care to make sure we had an awesome stay. Can’t wait to go back!
