For those who love the outdoors, the campground has a panoramic view of the Mule, Swiss Helm, Perillo, Chiricahua, and Dragoon mountains and is located just outside the quaint, historic city of Bisbee, Arizona. Ranchito Paraiso -

2 sites · Lodging3 acres · Benson, AZ
Imagine pulling through the gate into Ranchito Paraiso - a desert paradise, seemingly remote, but just minutes from the town of Benson. First, you will feel calm and peaceful. On your right, you will see the corrals for our sweet donkeys, Miss Fiona, Haiku, and Felipe Ortiz, sureley hanging out with their sidekick naughty goats, Harley and Quinn. To the left, you will see an abundance of giant Mesquite trees and Kassandra - a lovingly renovated RV nicknamed the Micro Mansion. To the right of the south ranch gate, you will see the rustic elegance of Kasita Morada, the purple house. Our neighbors tend to be javelina, owls and coyotes. There have been occasional bobcats and lynx. We live in a ranching community, so neighbors are few and far. (there is a KOA across the north side of our unpaved road). You will love the stars and the moon and the quiet here at the Ranchito. It is a wonderful getaway. The views are phenomenal. Sunsets are magical and sunrises provide beauty and hope. You will be within 15 minutes to Kartchner caverns. Tombstone is 20 mins, whereas Bisbee, AZ vineyards and Tucson are about 40 mins away. The Ranchito is 3/4 mile north of I-10 and one mile from the Amtrak line that runs between LA and Texas. San Pedro golf course is a few hundred yards away. The Ranchito is an artsy retreat with quirky yet elegant accommodations and a wonderful space to breathe, create, write, binge on Netflix, or just take a break to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine and bird watch. Let us know if you'd like to hang with the donkeys. They love to cuddle. Even though the grocery store is two miles away, you will feel remote. So far, elegant glamping is available in a lovingly renovated RV named Kassandra and a custom DIY tiny home (Kasita Morada). Guests find both units quite stunning (check out our reviews via our website, ranchitoparaisoaz.com). My name is Kareva and I am a professional host who works hard to make your stay memorable, comfortable, and rustically elegant. You will find the fridge stocked with fresh local farm eggs, butter, muffins, half and haf, French jam and cheese. There is a selection of teas. I grind fresh coffee beans. If you'd like a firepit under the stars, one will be ready for you already set up with kindle and a stack of wood. If you need more wood, you are welcome to gather it on the property. Both Kassandra and Kasita Morada have outdoor seating and dining areas, kitchens, and Smart TVs with high-speed Wifi. The Ranchito has beautiful mountain views. Pets are welcome, but please keep on a leash as we do not have individual guest yards as of yet. We do have our two amazing potbelly pigs, Jonah and Benjamin, who roam and forage. They are sweet and sociable and would love fruit and veggie scraps. Please keep dogs away from them and keep ranch gate closed. Please keep children away from the donkeys and never let them approach them without my supervision. There may be other guests and their pets present on the property. If you are traveling with large animals, such as horses or cows, we can accommodate them also.

3:10 to Dragoon

4 sites · Lodging1 acre · Dragoon, AZ
Dragoon is rich in history and natural beauty. The name comes from the 3rd U.S. Calvary Dragoons who battled the Chiricahua Apaches here led by Chief Cochise during the Apache Wars. Nearby, you can visit the confederate graves and ruins of the Dragoon Springs Stage Station. About 20 minutes away is Cochise Stronghold, home and burial place of Chief Cochise and Chiricahua Nat'l Monument is about an hour away (great hiking and climbing!). Unique to this area are the amazing rock formations of pillars, balances, and stacked rocks caused by cooled volcanic granite 50 million years ago.  In addition, our area is home to hundreds of different bird species, the occasional Gila monster, coyotes, deer, and javalina.

Harry and Barbara’s Windmill

3 sites · Lodging, Tents20 acres · Mc Neal, AZ
We purchased our 20 acre homestead 12 years ago. It had 100 year old windmill and we named the property ‘Windmill’. All structures were abandoned and unlivable at that time , the land had been overgrazed for decades. The saving grace was the water well, which produces sweet ,clear abundant 75 degree water so we new it was thermal spring water. Since buying the property we concentrated on restoring the land first ,bringing it back to its native beauty. Year round vegetable garden, honeybees, orchard and small vineyard followed suit. The adobe home and outbuildings and Sandhill (Crane) casita are restored with all recycle materials from the property. The 1.5 mile nature trail through grassland yucca mesquite landscape provides solitude and 360 degree views Sand over 150 mile view shed of the sky islands in US and Mexico. Along with our four children, this property is the joy of our lives.Learn more about this land:Flat, well maintained, Paved road accesses our 20 acre private wildlife sanctuary. Savanna Hermitage

2 sites · Lodging25 acres · Sunizona, AZ
The Savanna Hermitage is a solo retreat space of 25 acres inspired by meditation, qigong, yoga, and solitude in nature. It is a small, quiet retreat oriented toward facilitating lifestyles and practices of higher consciousness to maximize human potential, allowing the host and guests to evolve toward becoming the most empowered and enlightened human beings they can be. As monks, hermits, sages, yogis, and other spiritual seekers and masters have been doing for millennia, the very simple lifestyle and practices minimize focus upon the lower chakra, lower consciousness physical realms of sensual indulgences and desires. This allows instead for the residents and guests to focus their time and energy more fully on the purely non-physical upper chakra, higher consciousness realms of non-attachment, equanimity, and pure higher awareness. Cultivating a meditative lifestyle of higher consciousness is the core foundational practice at the Savanna Hermitage. Many forms of meditation and higher consciousness practice are welcome, including zen, mindfulness, vipassana, transcendental, qigong, yoga, and others. Guests are encouraged to spend an average minimum of 2-3 hours a day practicing sitting, lying down, walking/hiking, movement meditation, qigong, yoga, and other higher consciousness practice, and are solitary and self-directed. The host is also available to facilitate meditation, qigong, and yoga practice upon request, and guests are welcome to share their practices with others upon request as well (optional). In addition to the solo practice space in each guest room, the Hermitage property also has an outdoor meditation/qigong/yoga circle for solo and group practice and also contains over a mile (1.6 kilometers) of walking meditation nature trails for guest use and enjoyment anytime. Endless miles of amazing hiking trails throughout the nearby Chiricahua mountains feature stunning rock formations, evergreen forests, and magnificent waterfalls. The host has been hiking there regularly over the past 15 years and is available to guide hikes upon request that engage the uniquely powerful earth energy by incorporating meditation and qigong. Mature, experienced, self-motivated, independent, and self-sufficient individuals with established higher consciousness practices and lifestyles, and high levels of physical, mental, and emotional health and stability are encouraged to apply. Support meetings are offered on a weekly or monthly basis where residents and guests are welcome to share how their practice is progressing, to identify areas for improvement, and request comments and advice from others. There is plenty of free time, and residents and guests are encouraged to utilize it to support their higher consciousness lifestyle through reading, walking, hiking, immersion in nature, contemplation, and deepening their meditation and higher consciousness practices. Guests are encouraged to practice digital minimalism, i.e. minimizing the amount of time online, and staring at a screen. Aside from phone service, there is no internet on site, and more than the very occasional use of videos, movies, television, and social media is discouraged. There is good cellular phone reception that can be utilized as a wifi hotspot as necessary, and there is broadband internet and books available at a nearby public library. The Hermitage also has a small collection of excellent books available for guests' use. The Savanna Hermitage is a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for women, LGBTQ individuals, and people of color. Discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation is prohibited, and all residents and guests must refrain from sexual/romantic advances toward others during their stay. Absolutely no alcohol, tobacco, cannabis/marijuana, or other drugs are allowed on site. Candles, incense, and any type of open flame or fire are prohibited in all buildings and throughout the Hermitage property.
