Chad and Monica moved from the metro phoenix area to Willcox Arizona in the summer of 2015 with the goal of starting a vineyard and winery and living a simpler life in the country. Since moving to Willcox they have cleared 50 acres and planted over 6000 grape vines with more to plant coming soon. They fell in love with the spectacular views, the wildlife and the people. With spectacular sunrises and sunsets and clear night skies its a beautiful place to live and visit. With a working vineyard and winery you can walk from your camp and buy a bottle of wine or just enjoy a glass on the large deck located at the tasting room that over looks the grain field and silos, orchards and vineyards. There is incredible history that surrounds the area including: Cochise and Geronimo's battle grounds against the US Calvery, the Butterfield Stagecoach routes and pony express trails, The battle of the OK Coral with the Earp Brothers nearby. Birds and Barrels Vineyards is located within one of the only two American Viticulture Areas(AVA's) in Arizona. Very comfortable, level place to stay. Some true horse ranch activity happening there. Watched John shoe a horse among other chores. Ms Becky was an awesome hostess with great communication along the way. Definitely stay if you get a chance.

We had a great time at the ranch down. He is very helpful, very knowledgeable and a hell of a good nice guy. He has a place there that's interesting and challenging and he does well taking care of everything. I wish we'd had more time to spend with him and sorry we couldn't, but I certainly would go back here if I was in the area. Thank you very much, Tony.

This location worked really well for us. It is convenient to get to and central to local stuff, in particular to Dragoons range and the Stronghold. The view is great from camp. The local farm scene is our style. Melody is a sweet lady and great host. Would suggest this as a winter venue since the weather is superb

The winery would be a great fit for most people. The area is very large with wonderful mountain views. While we were the only ones there, there was plenty of space so multiple campers could spread out. The spot we chose was relatively flat and needed minimal leveling. There are two picnic tables and grills. The location is great for visiting Chiricahua, as well as Chad and Monica’s winery and others in the area. Monica was very easy to communicate with. The views were beautiful, with wonderful sunrises and sunsets. There are roosters that crow in the morning.
The reason it wasn’t a great fit for us is Monica’s dogs. They were extremely friendly, but they do run free on the property. We have a dog that is not good with other dogs, and at the time we stayed there, Monica’s dogs weren’t listed in the posting. When we realized that their dogs roamed the property, Monica was extremely gracious in coordinating when her dogs would be out. Her dogs are very friendly and curious, and were right at our front door the one time we opened it. So if you have a dog that isn’t good with others, this is not a good place for you. Otherwise, I would highly recommend it.

Hila and Tony both met us upon our arrival. They were both very friendly and had some good stories and advice as we have never been in that area of Arizona.
They had all the hookups for our RV, but they could use a little TLC. We made it work…
There are a bunch of dogs there, while they are working ranch dogs, there are a bunch of them!
My wife loved the horses and the horses love her.
We would go back if we were in the area.

Great spot! Rebecca and John have created a wonderful stop-over with easy access to hiking in Chiracahua National Monument and Cochise Stronghold. We loved playing with the dogs and watching the other animals on the farm.

Chad and Monica's vineyard was very peaceful and open. We were the only campers that night and it was nice to be able to let our dogs run free for a bit before turning in for the night. Our only regret is that we were too late for the wine tasting, but we know to plan better for next time. The drive to the property was beautiful with the orchards and vineyards and the sun setting on the Dos Cabezas Mountains.

I had many wonderful conversations with Tony, he was always making sure everything was going great, even while him and his family were getting ready for the holidays! Chad and Monica were great! They have a lovely vinyard and were very welcoming to our group! We were there for 4 days and loved it. We will be back for future stays. The tasting room at the vinyard was very nice. Their 2 dogs treated us like family and were extremely pleasant to have around!

An awesome desert site down a short "primitive" road a quarter mile from pavement. Wildlife, peaceful, horses, a resident hawk, perfect sunrises over the Chiricahua Mountains and beautiful sunsets behind the Huachuca Mountains.
Wonderful hosts, easy in and out. I have a 60 foot rig and it went in pretty well.
Saw a couple of big cats, quite a few deer, coyote scat, so they're around too. (Keep your small pets on lead.) Definitely would return.
Just an aside, it's just up the road from Johnny Ringo's grave site. What fun!

RV Ranch is located in a beautiful spot of Cochise County. Gorgeous view of Cochise Stronghold and surrounding ranges. It’s a working ranch so you’ll hear animal noises which added to the peace of the place for me. Full hookup, very level site made it a breeze to get settled quickly. I was so fortunate to witness the great crane migration during my stay. Thousands of them made their way to their winter home right overhead. Truly amazing. Highly recommend RV Ranch to anyone visiting this stunning area of AZ.
