I had a great stay! Beautiful surroundings and right down the road from the national park. It was fairly quiet and private. The drive coming in was kind of tight because of the plants but it is the outdoors.
I will say that I read the site type wrong and had to back in alone for the first time, but it was great practice, with no audience like at a campground, and I was able to get it done.
Sunsets and sunrises are beautiful here, my camera roll is full of pictures. Plenty of space outside for working out on the property in the morning.
Perfect spot for my first time in Arizona. Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at Site 1 at Desert Getaway in Avra Valley and loved it. My wife and I, plus our pup, really enjoyed the private, sizeable space. It’s very quiet at night with great stargazing. Location is spot on too - about 35 min to Tucson and 15 min to Saguaro National Park. Hookups were solid and easy to use. We’ll definitely be back!

The views were lovely and we found the camp to be spotlessly clean. The bathroom was amazing, much nicer than pictured, and also pristine. There was definitely a lot of attention to detail in creating this space.
My husband and I are older and we often have friends who are nervous about camping. This would be a perfect spot for anyone wanting to have a little get away or practice camping, yet feel safe while doing so.

FH campsite. We stayed at Site 1 for about 4days in August 2025. 50amp connection, you need to have an adapter if your camper is a 30amp or 20amp. We love the place, so peaceful. AC is a must when staying in summertime.

We loved camping in Claire’s land! She was a very gratuitous host and made us feel welcome. The site was very quiet and had a beautiful view of the sunset! The goats, chickens, and of course, Crew the dog, were a lot of fun! We would definitely go back again! 5 stars! We highly recommend!

Due to some issues with receiving our new van, we basically lost a day of our trip, so we didn't get to spend the night at Iron Quail as planned. We kept Michael informed and did stop by for a quick look at his ranch and take advantage of his modern outhouse (full bathhouse) which was great. Michael was a great host and showed us around his ranch and taught us about it all. He was very patient and nice to our 7-year-old granddaughter answering all her questions and allowing her to pet the dogs, goats, and chickens. She loved the experience.
Thanks Michael and hope to make it back so we can spend a night in the dark desert!

Beautiful desert property! You can see they put a lot of work into it. We stayed there as a “quick” way to get to kitt peak observatory, which you can see from the campsite!! It is an hour drive up but that’s about as close as you can camp to the observatory!

I loved staying at Claire's camp. We had a site to put our tent on that was soft and having access to the water was great. The bathroom and shower were a most welcome addition in the summer weather. Instructions to get to the camp are also clear and easy to follow. The Saguaro national park is only 7 miles away. Super calm and quiet, with some friendly farm animals!

Michael’s land was beautiful, peaceful, and felt very comfortable and safe for a solo female traveler. The bathroom and shower area was clean and cute and very well done. You can tell Michael and his family put care into everything they do on their property. The stargazing was amazing and the location was great for everything Tucson has to offer. Would recommend!!

Claire’s land is next level. Walking trails, shaded areas, outdoor bathroom with shower, flushing toilet and sink. What more coul you ask for. The setting is peaceful and tranquil. The hens and goats add an engaging element to our stay that was majestic. This is a 5.5 out of 5 hipcamp. And Claire is an caring host who goes out of her way to accomodate. Thoroughly loved every moment

Such a wonderful, peaceful place. Very safe, a few minutes from the park, easy to find, good service with T-Mobile. I enjoyed seeing the goats and chickens. I wish I could have stayed longer.
