What to expect: We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote. We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. 2 nights at Mesquite Haven

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time visiting Mesquite Haven. We’re not even 2 hours away so we decided to give it a go and it wasn’t a disappointment. We stayed in the Tombstone Rose, it was cozy, spacious, clean & already had a heater inside, which they’ll show you how to use. They also will provide a Jackery for charging & to plug in the lights that are in there. Jennifer a Dave are very nice, chill & welcoming if you need anything all you gotta do is ask and they’ll come see what’s up. Right when you arrive Jennifer will be outside to show you everything, where to park, the restroom area, where to go look and explore literally everything. Then like I said earlier they are very nice people you can talk to them, it was nice getting to know them. Lastly they are pet friendly. Our dog did cause a little problem but we just contacted them right away and they came over to see what the situation was, they didn’t make us feel bad or anything because accidents do happen. Just be straight up with them and they will be with you too. So yeah I highly recommend coming here for a visit. Can’t wait to come again.

1 night at Camp Saguaro

Wonderful hosts and beautiful grounds. There is a sense of community here and we felt like we were camping with family. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and amenities were a real treat and well maintained. You can tell the hosts truly love this place with all the attention to detail - there is subtle humor, tiny surprises, and quirky artistic touches all around with the signage, santa hats on saguaros, and the gorgeous mercantile filled with antique furniture displays and locally handmade gifts. If you are lucky, you may even meet Leslie and Mark while there, who come in seasonally to man the mercantile and help to maintain the grounds. We will definitely be back here for more Christmas camping and random adventures.

1000% will be back! The hosts were kind, welcoming, and hospitable. The showers and toilets were perfect and needed with a young child. It was so nice to have other kids and families around. Michelle's Camp Suguaro was one of the best Hipcamps we've been to, and we've traveled all over the country. The Curious Quail site was perfect for our 22' travel trailer. I wouldn't try to stay here, however, if you have something bigger than that. The site had a very pretty, shaded sitting area with a table, chairs and fire pit. Top notch, clean amenities included bathrooms, showers and a dish cleaning sink. Yard games and laundry were also available, and the Mercantile was nice with both utilitarian and artsy items. The entire place was well organized and well maintained. It was pretty with lots of thoughtful touches making it inviting and cozy. The description is accurate in saying you will hear some neighborhood sounds. Most, such as chickens, were not bothersome. The dog across the street that barked incessantly did become annoying. The best part of Camp Suaro though, was the hospitality. Everyone was warm, personable, and helpful. We received great ideas for things to do and pointers to make our time in Tucson very enjoyable. We felt safe and welcome at all times. If we are ever back in Tucson, we wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else. Thank you Michelle, Kim, and all of you kind camp hosts!

The location of Camp Saguaro is fantastic - minutes from Saguaro National Park and miles of hiking trails, while only 30 minutes from historic Tucson. The campground is lovely and well cared for by Kim, Michelle, and the other hosts. They were also a great resource for things to experience in the area. New and very clean showers, bathrooms, and a shared dishwashing area. Evening cayote serenades were a high point for us! The Flying Jewels campsite was spacious with natural vegetation barriers between us and neighboring sites—plenty of room for two tents, our SUV, a campfire area, and hummingbirds visiting the feeder. Our only negative experience - which the hosts really can't control - was some noise from the adjacent properties (dogs barking, vehicles, and music). Likely not as noticeable to folks in an RV. Overall, a great place to call home for a few days while exploring the Saguaro National Park area.

We loved the security and charm of this pretty, secure, campsite in the middle of a very urban area. There are lovely design choices in the charming campsite space - as well as water, electrics, etc. and it felt very private and safe: for our dog, for us, for leaving our camper. Clear communication and a warm welcome. I wish we had stayed longer and used the generous kindling and logs for the firepit as the space is so welcoming. The bright streetlight and some highway noise were not unexpected in the city - we would certinaly stay here again.

Camp Saguaro was a great base for exploring the area. The campground is well-maintained, clean, and very cutely decorated. The hosts are very helpful, but also unobtrusive. I loved the meteor shower I saw at 5:30 am. The owls, coyotes, and roosters were a great night sound track. My group was out of camp exploring most days so I didn’t get to spend much daytime in the camp. I would have liked recycling receptacle next to the trash can. That is my main suggestion for improvement. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

I loved the Javalina Hollow site , flat grounds for my tent, larger enough for my truck. All the amenities were amazing. The Hoists were wonderful, The whole layout of Camp Saguaro was awesome. Meet Michelle on then last day, she was wonderful. Hiking was close by along with the amazing Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. I would definitely set up camp here again.

I loved the whole vibe of camp, which is fun and functional! I stayed in the Adobe, which was very comfortable with an air mattress I rented from camp owners for $15. There were hanging overhead lights near the bed which I found helpful though not a substitute for lantern and headlamp. The bathroom was clean, the shower had a healthy stream of warm water. There were welcoming touches throughout the campground including lights on trees, little colorful fake nomes and mushrooms decorating the cacti area near my structure. There were adirondack chairs throughout, easy dish washing sink, a convenience store with ice and wood, gift items. All in all a comfortable experience I’d do again. Plus location is great near Saguero National Park and Gates Pass (wonderful sunset views). My friends stayed in nearby camp sites on premises and we enjoyed campfire meals and singing. Before 8 pm. It was very quiet and clean. Thank you!

Awesome campground, nice sites and lots of amenities. Bathroom and sink washing area were very clean and laundry area was a bonus. Very close to Saguaro west side. Only negative was road noise and barking dogs in the neighborhood. would highly recommend.

Wow. I am blown away how cool, fun, comfy, cute and well taken care of the camp was!! We only spent one short night there but we will be back! There is SO much going on here - and practically inside western Saguaro Nat’l Park I almost don’t want to review it so it stays a secret but I want the folks here to have all the success they deserve. If you go make sure you take good care of this gorgeous camp, respect the property and the hard working hosts!! Thanks again and see you soon ;)
