When my husband and I were dating in NY we confessed our mutual desire to get back "home" to the west. It made me fall in love with him even faster. So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home."
I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be.
So we added a couple of horses to our dream, built some stalls, and now are ready to welcome you to La Hacienda Chuparosa. We know you will find the same magic here that we do.

What to expect:
We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote.
We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible.
We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time.
Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free.

Solar power for the charging stations to charge your phones or laptop.
Propane usage: hot water heater for the shower, BBQ and firepits.
Nature All Around:
Listen to horses, ducks, peacocks, owls, and coyotes as you relax under the stars. Spot rabbits, hawks, eagles, lizards, and more. This is true desert living—beautiful, wild, and serene.
Good to Know:
The final ¼ mile to the property is a dirt road that can be bumpy or muddy after rain. Some areas have uneven ground, so bring sturdy shoes. Pets are welcome—just keep them leashed and off the furniture.

Weekend Trip to Camp Saguaro
We stayed in the Adobe and it was wonderful!!!! Everything is so clean and it was so comfortable temp wise. I would bring a lantern for some extra light. Everything is solar, but we slept amazing and everyone was so friendly from the hosts to the other campers we met. The location is awesome as well. So close to the park entrance and you have to check out the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Also just down the road is Old Tucson. So many things to do and see we never made it into Tucson. Absolutely loved this camp do not pass this place up. Be sure to follow their directions and not just Google maps.

4 nights at Rancho Relaxo
I stayed a week in the RV and it's a perfect dry cabin setup. Cold filtered drinking water was provided in the RV. Sharing the shower/toilet facility with the other campers is a non issue and the walk past the goats and under the mesquites is quite pleasant. The outdoor bathroom has a heater and on demand hot water, it's walled enough for great privacy, but open enough to feel relaxed by the desert. Can't wait to stay again!!!

Weekend Trip to Camp Saguaro
We stayed 1 night for Valentine’s Weekend.
This is the cutest campground. There are several campsites for tents and small trailers. The toilets, showers, and common space are great. The campground was full but everyone was quiet and respectful.
The Adobe was wonderful. It was pretty chilly (mid 40s) at night but the Adobe was warm enough with a thick blanket. At one point we opened the window to let fresh air in. Bed was good.
Will definitely camp here again!

Camping at Saguaro Glamp was such a treat! We enjoyed just hanging out and spending time in nature. The tent was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hot shower was wonderful as was the pellet heater for our cool nights. Conny and her crew were so friendly and attentive to whatever we needed. We felt right at home there. Would definitely go back given the opportunity.

Weekend Trip to Mesquite Haven
Had a really great stay in The Cannonball. The little cabin was super cute and cozy, and Jennifer gave us a mini tour when we arrived which was such a nice touch. She was very reachable the whole time and genuinely warm and hospitable.
The paths around the property are really well lit, which made walking around at night easy.
Everything was clean, peaceful, and quiet. The only sounds we heard were wildlife, which made it feel even more relaxing.
We also really appreciated having access to a toilet, sink, and shower. That made the stay way more comfortable. The only small thing is the cabin could use a bit more insulation for warmth, but the host mentioned they’re already working on a solution for constant heat flow.
And the stargazing out there is AMAZING.

Very hip for a hip camp. We stayed in the adobe which was so warm despite the rain we had that night. Thank a god we were not in a tent. The grounds are amazing and the showers and restrooms were exceptional. Highly recommend.

My partner and I spent a single night of our cross-country road trip here when we passed through the desert. And all I can say is that I wish we had spent a couple of weeks there.
It was a remarkable place that Jennifer and Craig are building step by step. You will hear a little lost highway noise and rumblings of coyotes, horses and a few cats at night - but walking into an instant community makes up for all that.
The tent is wonderful with communal shower (great hot water) and loo. A communal kitchen with amenities is available to come back to the the tent and cook on the propane grill.
It was idyllic. A great way to cap off a trip.
I will be back.

Easy to find and easy to settle into. Close to town but far enough to feel like you are in the country. The little trailer had everything I needed to spend a few days in peace and enough comfort. Outdoor bathroom and shower are nice and convenient. Great hiking in the area. Barb was helpful and responsive.

6 nights at Camp Saguaro
This is our third time staying in the Adobe house at Camp Saguaro! We absolutely love this entire campground. There is so much life here! There are plenty of birds to listen to and watch, you can hear coyotes howling at night, there are so many great plants all around. It is a very peaceful campground, even when most of the spots are full! There are amazing sunsets and awesome starry night skies to gaze at around a campfire. Camp Saguaro also has the best outdoor bathroom and showers we’ve ever experienced. You can tell that the people who run this campground love and care for it deeply.

I spent five nights in Adobe while in the Tucson area. My entire experience at Camp Saguaro exceeded my expectations. Adobe is a delightful casita embodied with love and artistic flair. The entire campground is wonderful as well. The hosts are friendly, attentive, and helpful. Access to nearby parks is excellent and scenic. The mercantile is adorned with work by local artists. I will not hesitate to stay there again the next time I travel to Tucson.

1 night at Camp Saguaro
I tent camped the first night and slept in the Adobe the second night at Saguaro camp. Beautiful campground and the closest + most convenient place to stay by Saguaro National Park (no camping in the park). Plus, it was super affordable at $39/ night for the tent camping and $50 plus fees for the Adobe. Best place to stay if you are trying to see sunset and sunrise in the park! The desert comes ALIVE at night so lots of animal noise at night while tent camping (no issues but did keep me awake). Would highly recommend the Adobe if you are a light sleeper.

Weekend Trip to Rancho Relaxo
I stayed in the RV and it was the perfect set up for my getaway weekend. It’s near west Saguaro NP so it’s very conveniently situated. Claire is super nice and helpful and responds to messages quickly. Even the goats were cute and not very noisy. I would definitely stay here again!

had the most AMAZING time! Jennifer & her husband were so attentive and hospitable & I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I booked this trip on a whim last minute and wasn’t sure to expect but they didn’t disappoint. Everything was nicely put together, clean and organized, and clear cut. We only spent one night here but I would definitely return!!! One of the best glamping experiences i’ve partaken in since downloading this app!
