The property literally came with a shack on it. He loved shifting for gold with one of the neighbors in the desert up the road. The property once had a shack on it, which is now gone - some remnants remain. But, there are flat drive areas in which to park (RV ok) and/or tent camp. Property is a little rough, but the views are gorgeous! From the property you can see Lake Mead, the west wall of the Grand Canyon, and an overlook of the town of Meadview. There are other residents in the area, but are far away, but visible (it is a desert). But, the property is absolutely quiet and peaceful.There is no electric, water, or facilities - so, it is primitive (or self-contained) camping. There is a fire-ring, but you must bring your own wood. There is some limited shopping and restaurants in town (Meadview or Dolan Springs) and on the main road (Pierce Ferry). We plan to build on the property in the future, but wish to share it with others until then. If I could give Abi a million stars for hosting an amazing property, I would! Very well kept, amazing views (desert land/plants, sunset, night sky, sunrise, all of it!), beautiful artwork and mini trails, basically more than anyone can ask for at a campsite. My husband, dogs and I enjoyed camping here so much we plan to visit again. It was nice that the whole area was to ourselves, it felt very private and safe. Would definitely recommend!

Such a special spot. I slept out under the desert stars in complete solitude (except for the company of jackrabbits and Joshua Trees). Place has vibey but not excessive artistic touches—perfectly representative of the environment. Good spot to camp and have a small fire. I really enjoyed my stay!

Oh my goodness this place! It was heaven! You need to be comfortable being remote because it really is just you. But the stars are so beautiful, the sunset was stunning and there is something so special about the peace it brings being so secluded. Roads are pretty rough getting to the camp but worth every bump aha.

The spot is good for a quick stay over. I definitely recommend the Camp host to leave a burn barrel or something where people can put their trash because some people don’t know how to pack the trash out. We drove in at the dark of night. If you read and follow the provided instructions to the site you shouldn’t have a problem. You do have to trust the process at night as the last few turns you are just out in the middle of a field and the roads are not well established. Can hear the humming of the power plant until late in the night once it goes off.

Making the trip along Route 66 and wanted a camp ground and found this super private property with picnic table, fire pit and fun art sculptures! My wife and the dogs loved roaming the property and exploring around! The time we went provided a beautiful purple sunset, did have alittle bit of rain but that didn’t stop us! Very much recommend this inexpensive, get away camp site! Thank you!

This is the most cared for hipcamp I've ever stayed at. The attention to detail was amazing, the decorations are beautiful and unique. Abi is so friendly as well, very communicative and willing to help with any issues. This is my favorite hipcamp and I definitely plan on returning to soak up some more of that Mojave Magic ✌️❤️🦊

Weekend Trip to Silver Sunsets

I read a bad review saying it was hard to find - this is completely false. The place was very easy to find from both Google maps and his instructions. Nice, peaceful setting with Joshua trees all around and windmills in the distance - they look close but they weren't close enough for us to hear them. The host was friendly, as was his dog, and he even gave us some fresh eggs from his chickens. We enjoyed the stay and found it well worth it.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. I wish we could’ve stayed longer but we were making a cross country move and didn’t have the time. It’s off the beaten path but everything you could want is already there. Just being food/drink, and your personal items. It was perfectly silent most of the time, almost like you had earplugs in. And all the stars…🤩. My dog loved it too. The unpaved road is a little bumpy but our Jaguar sedan made it just fine. Just take your time.

We spent a night with our RV, great experience, a safe and comfortable space easy to reach. I only remark the malfunction of the solar panel lights, bring some flashlights! Every now and then you hear the train passing nearby, if you have a light sleep I recommend earplugs. Maria was very kind and responsive, thank you!

We tent camped for 3 nights and it was absolutely beautiful! It was pretty hot during the days so definitely recommend bringing extra sun shades / canopy’s. Very quiet and secluded which we loved. The sunsets and stars were amazing. Would highly recommend!

Great private spot! It’s just as described and Maria had amazing communication. I felt very safe here as a solo female traveler. The site was easy to find in the dark and conveniently located to i40. It’s a fantastic spot for overnight travelers passing through that I would even like to stay longer next time I’m in the area. I would absolutely recommend!

Beautiful, charming campgrounds. Albeit feeling like “the middle of nowhere” once you brave the rumble of the dirt road you’re greeted by lit Joshua trees and a lovely common area. It was so quiet! Toilet is clean, with a lovely view. Will certainly book again if I’m ever needing a place while cruising the 40.

There is camping and there is the elevated experience that Abi offers. The site is more than we hoped for: - The small kitchen and shade area was whimsical and practical. It felt like we were having dinner on a friend's patio. - The outhouse was cleaner than any trail or state park bathroom I've ever used. - The raised campsite area creates an ideallic view of sunsets and purple mountains and a platform for stargazing by the fire pit. - We loved the nature trails that looped around the property. They enhance the desert experience. Our dogs loved all of the new smells and the freedom that most campsites do not afford them. - There was so much creativity on this property: hidden curiosities everywhere you looked, warm desert colored designs. - The campsite was very easy to get to, we live a few hours away and just wanted some unwind time. We had full phone service the whole time. Abi's property sings while other campsites are unremarkable. She has found a way to convey everything there is to love about the desert - it's life, it's colors, it's creativity, it's freedom. Truly, my husband and I will be talking about this two night experience for the rest of our lives.
