Guests will have access to a private firepit, composting toilet, and picnic table. Follow the paths around our 20 acres and take in the scenery and visit with our pigs, chickens, turkeys, and horses. Feel free to play all the board games and amenities provided in the yurt. We provide a solar-powered charging station for your phones or laptops. Your furry friends are more than welcome! Our homestead is 4 miles down a dirt road that can get rough. We DO NOT recommend a car to get to the location. You should have service with most phone carriers on the property. There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire. Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Ripparian Greenway and the Verde River. No neighbors in site out on our 40 mystical acres. In order to provide this remote and private nature immersion, we are located 6 miles down an unmaintained dirt road. We drive in & out in a Toyota Camry other than during storms. We are about 25 minutes outside of Ash Fork, Arizona off of the Crookton exit. Wander Camp Grand Canyon is a rustic glamping accommodation, located in Dark Sky country, approximately 30 minutes from the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Please be aware that you may encounter other groups during your visit. Our site features numerous glamping tents, and although it is nestled in a secluded area, you may still encounter other individuals. 4WD is recommended! BE PREPARED to drive on rural, unpaved roads, with the potential for both pot holes and large dips along the way. Parking is available as close to tents as possible, typically a short walk of 25-50 feet. Each of our large, waterproof canvas bell tents - 216 sq. feet, 16 feet in diameter and height - include low profile windows and a large netted door with double zippers for privacy. Inside you'll see they come furnished with not only the necessary camping furniture, but luxury beds with high thread count sheets, plush down comforters, pillows and blankets. A soft rug, side tables and leather wingback chairs give it that touch of home. We do operate completely off-grid which means no electricity is provided at camp. We provide solar lanterns in each tent for lighting, as well as solar lighted pathways throughout camp; however, you'll definitely want to make sure you take time to enjoy the darkness for star gazing outside of our tent.

Sun & Moon Geo Dome Retreat

It seems like nearly everyone who comes here says this is a peaceful place! It's like being out in the country whilst still being close enough to so many things, halfway between Sedona and Prescott, in a neighborhood with dirt roads and farm animals in which horses have the right away. The mountains are hypnotic. The air is clean. The stars are breathtaking. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night. The sunsets and sunrises are gorgeous and we see a lot of double rainbows here. The dome is fully furnished for 4 people. Inside there's a queen bed, futon, clean linens, table w/chairs, portable a/c, electric heater; propane heater, lamps, microwave (for indoor cooking), ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, mini-fridge, USB & outlets for small devices (light electrical usage only), and WIFI is available. Plus a yoga mat, books, & a binder with food and sightseeing recommendations for the area. Outside there's a picnic table, propane grill with side burner, propane firepit with comfortable seating surrounding. The clear dome windows are showing signs of aging, so the best star and sunset/sunrise viewing is outside. The outhouse building is equipped with a camping toilet, pump sink, and a camping shower (now heated!). One towel per guest, grill utensils, cups, and plate ware provided. Bring disposables if you do not want to wash your own dishes. Most of the time guests are able to park next to the dome but sometimes, weather depending, it will be necessary to park and walk in about a hundred feet away from the dome. Also on the property you'll find a walking path carved out through the trees behind the dome with a medicine wheel and labyrinth. The property is located in a rural neighborhood so there are other houses around, but at a far distance, with still plenty of privacy. There are lots of animals like cardinals, hawks, owls, blue jays, roadrunners, hummingbirds, jackrabbits, cottontails, coyotes, and mule deer. Farm animals like donkeys make sounds in the distance which is pretty comical at times. There are occasional sightings of beer, wolves, and mountain lions. The location is central to so many incredible places to explore. Within an hour each direction, there is distinctly different natural terrain to discover. Our local Mortimer Farm is 7 miles away and has a bakery (breakfast/sandwiches/treats), seasonal activities including pick your own food, farm dancing, and monthly farm to table dinners. We also have a local winery, golf course, café, pizzeria, subway and BBQ restaurant.
