Cypress Landing RV Park is a family-oriented, locally-owned RV park that sits on the shores of beautiful Gantt Lake in South Alabama. The lake is approximately 2,700 acres in size with 21 miles of shoreline. A little bit about our property: This property has been in the family for multiple generations. Our Old Family Farm has been an agricultural farm, a cattle farm, and now is a tree farm and nature preserve. Our primitive campground offers mixture of open land, young timber, ancient hardwood, fishing ponds, spring heads, and streams. We even have a small section of swampland. We practice an active controlled burn program and almost always have some freshly burned areas that are fairly clean of vegetation - as well as several areas with fresh regrowth. It is not uncommon to come across Deer sheds and other interesting finds when taking a walk. If You love nature and are interested in Primitive camping, you can also enjoy a dark sky experience in several of our open areas. According to some our astronomer guests, our night skies are mapped as the darkest skies around, east of the Mississippi River, with the exception of one other campground located east of us. Chances are that your Children may see stars that they have never viewed before. When was the last time you stepped out into your yard, looked up, and clearly saw the Milky Way? Learn more about this land: Apparently, we are not meeting the expectations of everyone coming to camp with us. In order to prevent further disappointment, we have added the following paragraphs. We do have several Glamping Sites in the works and hope to have at least one of them available sometimes early next year. Currently we only have a very limited number of primitive campsites that are easily accessible by passenger cars. We Are A Primitive Campground. We offer only a limited number of camp sites that are developed to convenience. We have many awesome spots, but some may require a small to moderate amount of time to clean and dress up for your comfort.  A simple cutting tool, such as a machete or ax, will make short and quick work out of your campsite prep. Murchison Farm has served in many different farming capacities, throughout generations of stewards. It's many operations have included row crops, cattle production, goat herds, horses, chicken and turkey production, as well as Tree farming. We are currently operating as a Tree Farm, Wildlife Preserve/Reserve, and Primitive Campground - in that order of priority. If you like clear wide-open areas, you should plan your camping trip for fall, winter, spring, and early summer. Because of our intense controlled burn schedule, you will find the farmland extremely lush and full of botanical growth - during the summer months. Grass, bushes, vines, low lying tree limbs, and a variety of other plants flourish to the point that some areas of the property appear overgrown and unkept. Not much else could be further from the truth. In fact, the massive growth can largely be attributed to all of the nutrients released from the burn process. Much of the lower plant growth is consumed, from our burn activity, and easily available for new growth. During other periods of the year, the same little area may consist largely of bare soil spotted with new green growth. There is an abundance of deadwood and broken limbs available around the farm for campfires, if you would like to pick it up. This includes firewood sometimes left by previous campers. Please do not cut down any living trees or shrubs. Primitive Camping may not be for everyone! I suggest that you take the Name, into account, and do a little research into the Actual Practice.  We offer some campsites which can be easily accessed with cars, but many may require 4-wheel drive, or low hanging branches which may scratch your vehicle. If You are looking for an orderly and well-groomed commercial Campground, Our Primitive Campground may not be for you.  Pitch your tent in one of our beautiful grass covered fields, secluded and private retreats, or under some ancient old trees, and enjoy access to 263 acres of pure nature. You can go fishing, swimming, hiking, or sit back and enjoy the sounds of nature on this farm out in the country.  You can even go wading in a beautiful creek.  Get off the beaten path, and maybe even turn your phone off for a couple of days... .  Secluded, yet conveniently located near major attractions - starting within a 35-minute drive. This camp spot was the absolute best we have stayed at. 60 acres, a pond with bass and brim which was fished every day, no neighbors and no cell service. Full hookups with 50amp service, walking trails to explore, the ambiance at night with lights, fireflies and such a gorgeous property. This is the place to disconnect from it all and reconnect with nature. Our dogs loved being able to run, play and swim. We have been wanting to camp here for a few years and finally getting to meet Patrick and family was a real pleasure! Thank you for sharing your slice of Heaven on Earth with us and for making our annual family camp trip one to remember. Truly a wonderful experience and we can't wait to camp here again. ❤️

We absolutely loved our stay at Hidden Oak RV 1 at Brinn Farm. This is one of those rare places where the photos are beautiful — but the experience is even better in person. The site sits beside a stocked pond under a massive live oak, surrounded by wooded acreage. After check-in, we didn’t see another person the entire stay. It truly feels private, peaceful, and tucked away. The hosts were outstanding. We received a full orientation when we arrived, and they checked in by text during our stay to make sure everything was going well. You can tell they genuinely care about their property and their guests. The site itself is spacious and level. Full hookups worked perfectly, and everything was excellently maintained. What really sets this place apart is the natural soundscape. At night we heard coyotes in the distance and frogs near the pond. During the day, birds at sunrise, fish jumping in the water, and even cows and peacocks off in the distance. It’s immersive in a way that’s hard to capture in photos. I needed to work remotely one day, and my Starlink mini worked flawlessly — so it’s a great option if you need to blend work with a quiet retreat. If you’re looking for privacy, nature, and thoughtful hosts, this is an exceptional Hipcamp and I would not hesitate to book it. We will absolutely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Brinn Farm

Our camping experience was awesome. Patrick’s Dad Pat met us at the entrance to the property and led us to a beautiful secluded spot. He also drove me around property to get me acquainted to the many acres available for walks. The property was extremely well maintained. It was renewing to have such a quiet property to enjoy walks, fishing (if interested) and star gazing. Everything as far as hookups was easy and we so enjoyed listening to birds, reading and relaxing. No cell service or WiFi but you will not miss it if you want to enjoy nature and solitude. We definitely would return for future visits.

Lake City Campground is somewhat remote & quiet - just what my husband & I were looking for. The common area bathrooms & kitchen were clean & convenient. The proximity to Lake Jackson & a few other nearby areas of interest such as Finks Mill and Andalusia were an added bonus for this location. If you’re looking for no crowds but nearby activities, then this is an ideal campground.

My wife and I often travel to watch our niece and nephew play collegiate softball and football. We sometimes end up at inconvenient campsites to the campuses, lack full hookups, and feel more like a chore than a getaway. However, this campsite, "The Stump’s Country Camping," was a delightful exception. It was located just 7 miles from the softball and football fields at Troy University. The site was nestled on 3 acres and featured a charming 1910 farmhouse in the distance. It included electricity, water, sewer, level ground, and a cement patio that allowed us to step directly out of our RV. Additionally, there was a shade tree, and the site's positioning kept it out of direct sunlight, making it pleasantly cool for us and our four-legged children. Ethel, the owner, was incredibly kind. She greeted us when we arrived, showed us where to park, and explained how to exit the property. She also encouraged us to call if we needed anything, which helped us feel comfortable, safe, and independent—much better than the crowded commercial campgrounds we've experienced, which are inconvenient to the campuses, don't have full hookups, and feel like work. This place has it all and more.

Weekend Trip to Stump's Country Camping

This site is perfectly serene! If you are in Troy AL for a sporting event at the college or just passing through you will LOVE this location! The site pad is perfectly level with full hookups and positioned under a beautiful shade tree. A concrete pad helps keep your camper free of debris and offers a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying your quiet surroundings. The beautiful level grassy area that surrounds the site offers a perfect set-up for your 4-legged campers. Ethel is a great host! She is quick to communicate, with easy directions and points of interest for you to explore. This Hipcamp location has all the bells and whistles less the hoopla of a large campground. We loved it so much that we are going back next month. Do yourself a favor and add an extra day so you have time to truly enjoy this incredible site.

This is such a nice, peaceful and well maintained property to camp. The shared full kitchen and bathroom facilities were a welcome surprise and it’s just a couple of miles from beautiful Lake Jackson. The host was professional and made sure we had all the correct details and directions to access the facility. We will definitely be returning.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. This is the cutest little campground. Very close to 231 and easy to access when you are looking for a place to park at the end of a long day of traveling.

Russell and his wife are super friendly and helpful, they even offered us produce from gardens on the property. The grounds are very well maintained. There are private bathrooms with showers. I definitely recommend staying here.

Very new campground. Trees planted between sites. Sites are large. Didn’t meet Russell but did meet his wife and mom who showed us to our site and gave us some veggies they grow. 1/4 mile off 231 .
