There is a spring that runs year round through the property. There is a treehouse for two that sits on a 20' x 20' deck, there is a picnic table on the deck and another one at the bottom of the stairs leading to the treehouse. There are 3 lounge chairs by the spring pond. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. There are lots of native birds (tanager, steller jays, red shafted flicker, nut hatch, wood peckers, and chickadees) just to mention a few. We also have mule deer, elk, bear, mountain lion, bob cat, lynx, squirrels and chipmunks. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will enjoy your visit. Perfect for meditation. Zen at the Treehouse
With pets
The property is the most scenic and beautiful I've been to in Colorado. Stunning forest and meadows and the freshwater spring was absolutely incredible. The tree house was awesome and fun to stay in with all amenities needed. Dave was the friendliest and accommodating host as well and it was an all around pleasure being there.

Wonderful stay
Dave is a great host. He really takes pride in his property and has made it a magical destination: Treehouse with a bedroom and little loft, deck with outdoor "kitchen." The bedroom has king bed, electricity, space heater, microwave, and other thoughtful touches. Tiny loft above is just big enough to sit in the rocking chair, read a good book, or enjoy the view from the window. Deck provides fantastic views of the surrounding woods and glimpses into the valley and mountains beyond. Outfitted with picnic table, lounge chairs, a fridge, cooler, Coleman stove, and basic cookware and dishware. Hummingbirds everywhere! So fun to watch them up close. Bathroom is a short walk: modern and clean, toilet and sink only. Sweet little creek on the property with sitting areas. Dog run at base of stairs to treehouse. An added bonus: you will be greeted by Dave's happy little dog, Miss Bliss!

This treehouse cabin was an absolute delight! The area is unbelievably beautiful and peaceful, and David has done an excellent job at setting up the property to reflect that. The cabin brings all the comforts of home while immersing you in the surrounding wilderness. We even saw a bear from the porch! I would absolutely stay here again and have more chats with David

David’s property is a lovely forest garden. The care and pride with which he tends his land really shows. He is a very attentive host who checks in and will offer suggestions for hikes and ways to enjoy nature in the area. Tucked deep in a homesteading community, you feel far away with only the sounds of the myriad of birds and the host’s occasional work on the property. The treehouse, about 25 yards from his home, is cozy and the deck amazing. Bring extra towels for muddy paws if visiting with your dog as it rains frequently in the mountains and streams abound.

Treehouse in the forest
We had a great weekend at David's tree house! The setting is absolutely beautiful! The bed was comfy, and the treehouse was nice and warm with occasional use of a space heater. Wifi worked well. We enjoyed the raised deck for dinner and coffee (microwave, fridge, and water heater available). Went on a nice hike in the national forest a short distance from the house. David is a great and friendly host! He toured us around his very well cared for property and answered questions about the area. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Beautiful retreat in an Aspen grove
My partner and I spent the weekend at David's treehouse and had an absolutely wonderful stay. His property is nestled on a few acres of land amongst aspens, evergreens, and flocks of Steller's Jays. The treehouse had everything we needed–a comfy bed, space heater, microwave, boiling water, refrigerator and freezer. We enjoyed many chats with David, who wanted to ensure a great visit for us and shared fresh produce from his gardens. Great Sand Dunes National Park was an easy hour drive each way and provided for a great excursion. We'll surely be returning to this spot!
