We had a great weekend at this site! The views were beautiful with plenty of birds to watch (even a pair of bald eagles!). Getting to the outhouse is a bit of an uphill walk from the camp but not terrible. The site itself is closer to the road and more residential than we initially thought, but overall a quiet and peaceful weekend.

This was the perfect weekend! We had one of the best camping experiences of our lives! We enjoyed the spacious spot and gorgeous views. Fishing and paddle boarding were very fun! The road was not too busy, but the outhouse is a little bit of a walk from the site. Other than that we had no complaints and loved every minute we were there :)

The campsite was great and the pond was beautiful. My only complaints would be the grass wasn't cut and the outhouse was pretty far away/really gross (as expected for an outhouse though). Other than that it was great!

I loved staying at David's site! The site is right on the water, and we really enjoyed taking out the paddle boards we added to our rental. The site is right next to a neighborhood road, so there was a small amount of car traffic and houses and people around, but it was still very serene! We had a little trouble finding the outhouse in the dark, but if you follow the red light posts up into the woods from the parking spots, you will find it! The site is also very close (15 minutes) to Auburn/Lewiston so it was nice to have some civilization nearby!

Absolutely loved the site. The lake was beautiful and the area is well kept and clean. There is a busy road with lots of fast travelling vehicles located directly in front of the site. This will only be an issue if you have a dog with no recall or children who are too young to understand to stay out of the road. We had neither of these issues!
Houses are located pretty close to the camp site but honestly you forget they are there because the area is so tranquil and relaxing.
Gasstation is 10 min away and Walmart is 15 min away. Great place to get away and still be able to sneak off and get something you may have left unpacked!
There is also a mini golf area super close and a ice cream shop that is opened during the summer. Much yum!
We set up two sleeper hammocks and two tents with plenty of room for our dog to run around and for us to play. You could probably fit even more tents if you got creative. We put up a canopy over the wonderfully provided picnic table.
Could get muddy in the rain - but who cares when you have that beautiful lake side view.

My family and I had an amazing weekend at this lakeside tent site! There was plenty of space for both our tents, and it felt private even though there were houses on both sides of us. We tented right on the lake, just a few feet from the water, and enjoyed swimming and paddleboarding all weekend. More often than not we had the lake to ourselves. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful spot!! The lake is warm and clear, and quiet for the most part. There is lots of space, two Adirondack chairs, a brand new picnic table, and an awesome fire pit! We pitched our tent right in front of the water and loved waking up to the lake. The paddle boards were a ton of fun and the swimming was fantastic. It feels secluded, despite being close to the road because the road is pretty quiet. We heard loons calling the first night and saw a bald eagle. This was one of our favorite HipCamps of all time!

Overall, we had a great stay and the lake was gorgeous, but there were a few things we wished we knew before booking.
The upsides:
Great location, lovely firepit and grassy area right by the lake
Paddleboards and firewood available
David was very responsive and helpful when the paddles for the paddle boards weren't where they were expected
In a neighborhood, but we still had plenty of firewood
Feels really calm/remote, but still close to Auburn if you forget anything
In the middle:
Make sure to bring camp chairs as the red Adirondack chairs in some of the pictures aren't there any longer
The outhouse was totally workable, but could have used a quick sweep to get out some of the cobwebs, bugs, stray toilet paper
The downsides:
The pictures on the listing were a little misleading since you aren't supposed to camp in the grassy area near the lake, but rather ~100ft up a hill in the trees on the opposite side of the road. This is probably due to rule changes and/or Hipcamp highlighting pictures from reviews, but wasn't something we were initially aware of.
We found some glass on the trail up to the campsite.

This was the second year my little brother and I went camping at David's space. We both enjoyed it a lot! The lake is beautiful and perfect for swimming and canoeing. We stayed there several nights with our dogs and will go back again.
The site is a bit awkward to set up with more than one tent just due to some areas being sloped or marshy, but as long as you have a tent footprint or a tarp it's not a problem. There's a really nice fire pit (if you plan to cook on it I recommend bringing a grate to put pans/pots on), there's a picnic table that works well enough though it needs some repairs. The outhouse is a little bit of a distance across the road and into the woods, but it's as decent as one can expect from an outhouse.
It is a residential area so there are houses very close, the trees make it feel a little more private.
Our water cooler got a leak on the first day, so we filtered (or boiled) lake water. Not the best water I've had, but certainly drinkable once filtered or boiled.
As with our last trip here, David was quick with responses and helpful and communicative.
This is a nice place if you're looking to tent for a few days and enjoy the lake. My dog loved the lake, and we enjoyed going out in my canoe in the early morning and late evening when the lake was still and quiet.

I loved camping at this special spot. The site was beautiful and very easy to find/access. The lake was quiet and beautiful. The road nearby was quiet most of the time but there were a few cars that were going quite fast through the night. All in all was a great spot and would definitely come back.

We camped very early in the season so the site was potentially not set up as usual yet. Since I have a little teardrop I was parked across the street and I wasn’t expecting to be immediately adjacent to the driveway of an occupied house. It’s also uphill. Ultimately we used the space pretty well on both sides of the street but we had to clean a lot of broken glass off the path up to the area by the outhouse.

This spot was beautiful and peaceful! Perfect place to see the foliage and the pond is gorgeous. Our pup went for a swim and we relaxed by the fire all night. David was very attentive and welcoming and detailed with instructions. We will be back for sure! Thank you!

Had a great weekend at David's site on the pond. Weather was somewhat rainy but we still had a nice and relaxing time getting away from the city. Plenty of space on the site, and the option to rent the paddle boards was great. There are a few houses somewhat nearby, but the houses around the lake aren't right on top of each other like in other lakes. We felt there was plenty of privacy. We arrived in the night and were a bit confused which was the right driveway and where the outhouse was but we found it just fine in the morning. Outhouse was rustic but clean. There is a well built fire pit for fires. The picnic table is a little broken so you may want to bring a sturdy table if you'll be cooking. Overall had a great time, it's so nice to camp out right by the water, waking up to the birds and especially hearing the loons out on the lake.

This was our second time here! We came last June of 2020, and this time we brought my boyfriends six year old daughter. She also had a blast! We spent the day on the SUP boards, and did a lot of grilling over the fire as well. There was about an hour that the weather was rainy, so we went to the ice cream place >10ish minutes away - The Canty Cow - such beautiful views and got to hang out with the cows and goats while the weather passed.
We saw three HUGE bald eagles while out on the water, and the house across from the pond/lake shot off fireworks in the night which looked great over the water.
The outhouse is a bit dodgy, with some sizable spiders in it, if you care about that kind of stuff. I personally don't, but will warn you anyways ;)

A really wonderful time and a beautiful place. The lake was warm and quiet, and we enjoyed our two nights there! Highly recommend and would absolutely return.
There are a few Adirondack chairs, a table and a fire pit for use. We used the paddleboards which was awesome and took our dog out on the water for the first time. Our mornings and evenings were spent reading, drinking and hanging out right at the water. Afternoons and evenings were perfect to sit in the sun and relax.
It is a bit close to the road and the property is split between the camping area (lake side) and the parking spot and outhouse (other side of the road). But there weren't too many cars driving by at all, especially at night, and it wasn't too much of a hassle. Some neighbors walking and biking by, all were pretty friendly.

Well, due to recent rains it was very muddy and we were unable to camp. The site was beautiful the "pond" was huge and you are on the water. The dogs ran around and went swimming while we decided to leave. David gave fantastic directions and refunded the stay. Wonderful host wish it had not rained.

Spent a fantastic long weekend at this spot! Perfect area next to the water for a fire and letting our pup run around. We brought kayaks and it was easy access to get them down to the water. Host was great and allowed us to use the paddle boards as well. Definitely recommend this spot.

We stayed from 7/16/21- 7/18/21 and truly enjoyed all the pond had to offer. We spent all of Saturday fishing and swimming. The pond was so refreshing and warm to swim in. It is also a great spot for catch and release fishing, & we had the best time out there! We got lucky with mostly great weather up until the last night with a bit of rain. It was quiet on site, and really a peaceful place!
My only complaint would be, the picnic table is pretty rotted and not able to sit at. The top is missing a 1/4 of the table as well. We hadnt brought a folding table due to the add listing a picnic table. Didnt make a huge impact but I may suggest a new one. The listing also states this is a site you can park "on site" at and is accessible to roof top tents, camper vans, etc. In my opinion it is do-able, but not the most ideal for anything other than tenting. The land is split between the main road leading around the pond. The waterfront space is only accessible to tents. And the driveway to park and outhouse are across the street. My husband and I had to park our car/rooftop tent on the dirt driveway across the street along the road. Not a huge deal, as we literally only sleep in it. But I think the lay of the land was a bit misunderstood when booked. The only flat land on this side of the road is at the very edge of the driveway so we were essentially sleeping on the side of the road. Luckily its not a heavy traffic road otherwise I would have been much more uncomfortable safety wise.
Those few things aside, we still enjoyed what the space had to offer and we had a wonderful time on the land/water. Thank you David!

The site was excellent and the perfect size and the firepit was exactly what you want when camping. Also, the pond was extremely peaceful and warm enough to swim with a nice sandy base. David was wonderful with communication and making sure that we found everything okay (the layout is a bit confusing otherwise). The only thing that I did not enjoy was how close the site is to the road, especially when trying to sleep. However, I still recommend the site!

We had a fantastic time! David was communicative and quickly responded to questions. The site was wonderful! There's a nice firepit and chairs for hanging out or cooking, plenty of space to set up tents, and beautiful views of the lake! My younger brother and I enjoyed swimming and paddleboarding, and our dogs enjoyed it as well! The site was clean and well-kept.
We are hoping to make at least one more trip to David's campsite before the summer is out.
