Description

In the heart of the forested north side of Tonto National Forest, you’ll find Houston Mesa Campground, a large sprawl ready for equestrian, trailer, and family campers. There’s a handful of reservable spots, as well as first-come, first-served sites, all either in the Elk, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, or Mule Deer Loops. The scenery, bright nighttime stars, and self-guided trails are what make this place camp-tastic.

We've tent camped there on several occasions. It currently costs $3.00 for a 6 minute shower. Sites are OK, but not a lot of shade.
