The site wasn't bad as there is plenty of room and firewood around. The host was accommodating and brought out food for our son to feed all the animals with. Only downside was the closeness to Hume Highway for us, found it difficult to sleep in a tent with the noise but might be better in a caravan or RV.

Stayed here twice on our roadtrip from Vic to gold coast. Super easy to get to ( off the M1) .. yeh, its a bit noisy from the trucks.. but honestly couldn't have cared. Great sites, felt safe and secure with the family. Warm and welcoming host who let the kids feed hes sheep and goats (which was perfect after a long drive and setting up for the night) , beautiful starry skies plus our own camp fire. Will be staying again on our yearly trip up north.

As other reviews have noted, this camp-site is very suitable for a stopover on the Hume Highway. Easy to find and access with signs on property directing you along. Large farm with flat land, sites easy denoted. Camp site is next to Hume highway and road noise can be heard however didnt effect us. Quick easy stop with plenty of space and back on the road again.

Lovely camping sites, seeing the farm animals is a delight and not something you often see on a campground. Plenty of available firewood to burn, but definitely bring your own as well. Camp-site was clean and easy to find, firepit was perfect. The only negative is the toilet, not very clean or well maintained. Needs an upgrade.

Amazing Stay.

We stayed at site 2. It was absolutely amazing 🤗 We had a beautiful view of the cows (super friendly) and the kids loved hanging with the rest of the animals. The site was spacious and such a good stop for the night 🙏🏽 I read a lot of reviews about the highway being to close and loud. It was honestly no issue at all! It was such an amazing stay and I hope to be back in the next few weeks 😍 We also had the honour of meeting the owners father Micheal. He was so accommodating and gave the kids a huge bag of goodies to feed the animals with. He is so nice and friendly and was telling us how to catch the yabbies if we wanted ☺️ Highly recommend! Thank you for accomodating us 🫶🏽

Things were pretty much as described. Pros: Plenty of sticks around for fire starting. Lots of space to set up and a nice fire pit. Easy to get to once I put the address in the satnav and not just coordinates that wanted me to pull straight off the Hume - sign on the gate was helpful. Mixed: fair bit of road noise, which I didn't mind but some might. We were in the further field (site 7) and it was sprawling and private, but if others had booked site 5 or 6 there wouldn't have been much separation. Cons: Could do with better site signage - I only knew I was in the right field because there was a fire pit. If the loo had toilet paper, a bit of a clean and flushed properly then I think I would have been a happy camper!

A group of us recently stayed here for a night as we went to A Day on the Green in Bowral. Great for a one night stay, and insanely good value (when divided by the group) but wouldn’t recommend for a leisurely camp trip. The noise from the Hume hwy is so loud and does make for a tricky sleep. 25 min walk to the train station. Toilets were nice and clean but with no flush or toilet paper. But great spacious flat spots, (even if the camp was full you would still be far from the group next to you), big fire pits and friendly cute cows!

Exactly what I was looking for. A patch of grass close to the freeway for a one night stopover. No real issues except price. This really should be no more than $20 a night.

Disappointing stay

Disappointed to find previous reviews were entirely accurate and the Hipcamp description quite misleading! Despite advising we would be arriving late around 8pm, there was no communication back from the host so when we rocked up, it wasn’t very clear where we should park up and then we realised site 2 was in a paddock with long grass and a tight gateway that wasn’t easily accessible with our 19ft van. Being located so close to the highway is both a blessing for a quick overnight stop and a curse with the noise next level. We’ve been to many Hipcamps that are better value than this.

Stayed one night here was an amazing spot and Andrew greeted me on the way in he was super nice. The animals are all super friendly and act as a nice greeting party in the morning. The sites were clean and peaceful its not far from the highway making it excellent for when you are travelling through. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stop over along the Hume. Plenty of space to camp. Communication was fantastic. Also offered to fill our caravan's water tank. Will stay again.

Dumping ground would be more appropriate than campground... Barely no sign for the campground besides a small writing on the fence. We camped at the rear of the property, with no flushing toilets and no water. You have to walk/drive to get near the house for it, so not really handy. The place is garbage, not dirty, but stuff everywhere and the lawn could be mowed. The highway makes indeed a lots of noise. Overall it is not that horrible, but saying overpricey isn't enough. At least we made a great campfire with all the wood we gathered everywhere.

Great stop in Southern Highlands

We enjoyed our time at Andrew’s property. Plenty of space for our set up (22ft van) and Andrew had set up a fire ready for us to use. There’s also plenty of firewood around the property to keep it going! The newly installed toilet on the back paddock (sites 5-8 I think) was also really handy. The grass was a little on the long side and could have done with a mow, even as a makeshift path to the toilet, so we didn’t make use of the space as much as we would have liked. There is road noise as the listing suggests, but it didn’t bother us and made for great ‘white noise’ for our toddlers. If you’re used to quiet, then I can see how you would notice it though. 10mins to local IGA/bottleshop and some great walks and swimming spots. We would stay again.

Southern Highlands Animal farm 8

The area was over grown and had piles of half jobs everywhere. Advertising as a hobby farm is a stretch as the area for campers is paddocks away from any animals. We stayed due to feedback provided on Hipcamps but found most of it, if not all was untrue. I also paid an extra $20 for a firewood bundle which was not provided-I have contacted host for a refund for this. We have stayed at many paid and free camps and this one is very overpriced for what it was.

We had a great time, kids loved it. The animals were cute but you couldn't really get up close to any other than the cows/goats (still cute though). You can tell they are working on improvements which will make it more comfortable toilet wise. Only down side is the volume of the traffic on the highway. Will probably back for a quick over night get away.

Noisy freeway

The property, though flat and with nice firepit sites, is right beside the freeway and so is very noisy (not pleasant when we are wanting a quiet getaway). Wouldn’t have booked it if we had realise it was so close to the main road! It looks like the toilet is being built still, had to walk/drive to the other toilet near the house which was not in a good condition at all. The drive down to the rear of the property was very muddy after the rain and so was quite boggy. The nearby dam was surrounded by fallen trees, and is a potential hazard to try and get someone out if they fall in (also looks messy).
