Bush camping on 100 acres in the Tinderry Range at about 1400 metres altitude. Seclusion and adventure all within an hour of Canberra and twenty minutes from Michelago and the Monaro highway. Big skies and dark nights for star-gazing are likely; or perhaps you'll be nestled in cloud; or hidden by falling snow. There are some beautiful bushwalks surrounded by sub-alpine flora and fauna on the property and nearby in the Tinderry Nature Reserve. Tinderry Range is a rugged range east of the Monaro highway accessed mostly through Michelago or an hour and a half from Braidwood (when dirt roads are reasonable). The range is only around 70km away from the coast, thus enabling a sea mist to often roll over us in the late afternoon. Summer temperatures are a pleasant 6 degrees or so cooler than nearby Canberra. You may choose between a number of options for camping depending on your camping desires and set up. There are numerous tracks around our property. You may go exploring to find the springs or choose to stick to easy walking tracks that follow the contours. We will provide a map. Tracks are also great for mountain bike riding and exploring the unusual mix of sub-alpine, montane and coastal flora and fauna. This area has fascinating history with the largest eucalyptus distillery in Australia until the late 1950's and very popular with a number of bushrangers such as the Clarke Brothers who had numerous hideouts. No amenities. BYO camping toilet and leave no trace. Campfires (except on fire ban days or when we advise otherwise) are okay--usually recommended. Normally dry firewood is easy to find, or purchase some from us if you prefer. Some campsites are best accessed by 4WD, or on foot. or gain access to the glamping tent in our polaris ATV.... Camp lightly. No hunting. Do nothing illegal. Take all waste with you. Respect the land, the wildlife and people. Keep the peace. Enjoy.

Secluded, scenic, awesome campfire
Fantastic spot! Amazing views and so secluded. Anna and Andrew were fabulous hosts, helped us out of a sticky situation with a flat car battery. Had great camp fires, amazing night skies, and the best relaxed weekend. Went for a walk on the bushy track and saw some wildlife. We're already thinking we'd like to come back.

Nowhere (4WD or park & walk)
So beautiful just what we wanted!
Four of us stayed at the Nowhere campground and it was perfect :) so peaceful and you really feel on your own it’s very private in every direction. The land is large enough to go for a walk and in the evenings we went to the top of the hill to watch the sunset. The hosts were lovely, showed us around and gave us a few options (we were in tents so needed to find some flat ground- we did!) thanks for everything we’ll definitely be back!

A delightful remote site
We stayed in the '1400' site, which was up high and very peaceful. you get pretty good views direct from the site, but a short stroll away gives you expansive views in all directions. The site is up a couple of approaches on a track that warrants a good AWD or a 4WD if towing a heavy rig (off-road), but if you have the right rig it is fun. The large property has some wonderful forest glades, heaps of wombats and birds which gives opportunities for a long ramble. Anna and Andrew are delightful hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.

Serene setting amongst the Tinderry
I loved camping on Anna's property. Beautiful views, very peaceful and close to Canberra for a quick weekend escape. I felt very welcome and would highly recommend a visit.

Amazing spot. Amazing views. Lots of wood around, even more if you go for a bit of a walk. I tent camped at the first 1400 location. The flat area gets some shielding from a large rock at one end from the wind. Woke up to bird songs and then spilled my omelette in to the fire! 10/10 would do again.
