Willow Lane Farm is a Heritage Breed Poultry farm that runs a
small rescue/sanctuary for livestock.
The Main farm is situated on 60 acres which backs onto crown land.
There's open fields, forest, wetlands and paddocks full of all sorts of animals.
Towards the back, there's
several small ponds and a river that runs through the property.

It's prime location is a haven for geologists, blueberry pickers, snowmobilers, and fishermen. With over 50 lakes close by, and lots of ATV/sled trails, it's a great recreational place with lots to do or sit back and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Animals are welcomed. And Paddock space is available for Horses, riders and eventers looking for a place to stop over, rest or excersize their livestock.

Welcome to our family-friendly farm! We are open year-round and are located in Hanmer, Ontario in the Greater Sudbury area. While staying with us, we encourage you to take a farm tour, try the petting zoo or enjoy the scenery.
With over 60 acres of farmland, our private and secluded campsites are level and are ideal for any type of camping, from tents to large RVs and everything in between, we can accommodate anyone looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. The property offers flat farm fields that back onto wooded areas with a river, pond, and nearby hiking trails!
A firepit is provided (Firewood available to purchase) and if you are planning on cooking we have pots and pans upon request. If you need water please feel free to fill up at the house. We also have an outhouse on site.
30 lakes are within a half-hour drive, great for fishing! Sudbury is in a crater, so there are lots of interesting rocks to see if geology interests you. We also have many trail plans for ATV and snow machines (permits required). Seasonal blueberry picking is also available on-site. We are only 10 minutes away from the Train Museum, a must-see while in the area!
Pets are always welcome, as are riders and their mounts.

1 night at BAM’s Spanish Riviera
Perfect stop between Little Current and Sudbury. The Century-Old Dovetailed Cabin is super cozy and it was lovely to curl up in the chair and read while the rain hit the roof. Even with the cold rainy October temps, I was super warm with the help of a powerful heater. This Hipcamp is a piece of history with lots of things to explore. Beth and her pups are great hosts. I hope to return for a longer stay with a kayak in tow.

Weekend Trip to BAM’s Spanish Riviera
Beth is a wonderful host and such an interesting person - I’m so grateful I found her place. Her land and the historic buildings she has renovated with care lie along the Spanish River and all come together to create an amazing place. It was a treat to stay at this former canoeing base camp knowing it was built in the 1920s and that it was a part of the area's history. Cabin #3 where I stayed was right on the river, charming in its rusticity and a cozy and lovely space. Coincidentally, Beth is also a co-organizer of Sudbury’s first Latin American Film Festival, which I luckily got to attend. I had a wonderful stay - thank you Beth and all the best!

Our stay at Site 1 on Matt's property was exactly what we were looking for. A peaceful and private site with everything we needed.
My pup and I enjoyed a quiet night watching the gorgeous sunset before turning in.
Unfortunately due to some poor communication on my part and odd arrival/departure time, I did not get to meet Matt. But we would absolutely stay again for longer next time we're in the area.

I truly had such an amazing time here and can’t wait to come back! I came home and have told everyone in length about the most knowledgeable farm tour I have ever been on (although I don’t have many farm tours to compare it to). Either way, I learned so much about chickens and turkeys and birds of all kinds! As a young woman travelling alone, I felt safe and comfortable here, would 100% recommend.

We caught PG in its infancy and what a treat. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The sites a huge. The put in at the lake is exceptional, with a fabulous dock and small sandy beach for easy access for canoes and kayaks. The birding was also amazing. The river was fun to paddle, but the many beaver are hard at work, and that's just nature. We look forward to seeing the next stages of development.

Daisy Lake Uplands Provincial Park
Daisy Lake Uplands Provincial Park is a natural marvel created to protect a number of recovering ecosystems in the region and is home to important plant species, such as forests of young white birch. Though visitors can’t enter the lands, the lake and nearby waterways allow kayakers and canoers to get a closer look. Paddle around for the day or take an overnight trip to cover the entire region, but be careful not to disturb any of the delicate ecosystems. Unwind for the night at one of the beautiful cabins rentals near Sudbury.
Wanapitei Provincial Park
Spanning more than 3,400 hectares of land, Wanapitei Provincial Park is one of the most popular outdoor spots for locals and visitors alike. Wanapitei Lake (the impact crater of an ancient meteorite) features white sand beaches and small stream valleys leading to the main reservoir. Explore rolling rocklands and sandy stretches, take a load off on shore, or get out on the water to explore sporadic small islands. Campers are just a few minutes drive from Sudbury glamping sites or quiet RV parks with full hookups.
Fairbank Provincial Park
On the very edge of the Sudbury Basin (the third-largest impact crater on Earth), Fairbank Provincial Park is a great option for outdoor adventurers of all levels. Sunbathe on the white sand beaches of Fairbank Lake, or paddle a canoe through the crystal clear, spring-fed waters. There is one short but tricky trail which has hikers scrambling up bedrock to reach the panoramic view at the top—expect to see woodpeckers and warblers amongst the boreal forest biome. Fairbank Provincial Park is minutes away from Sudbury waterside camping spots and other unique accommodations.
When to go
Camping near Sudbury is great year-round. In winter, there are opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and even ice fishing—just be prepared for cold weather (average January lows of -16°C). Fall and spring offer milder temperatures, and present ideal conditions for hikers, hunters, and anglers. Because of the seasonal climate, look at weather and temperature forecasts and pack accordingly. Summer is one of the most popular and crowded times to visit. With July average highs of 25°C, the summer months are a great time to explore Sudbury’s revitalized natural landscape.
