4 nights at Digeddi Wildlife Camping

Beautiful camping spot in the Black Mountains. Loved the separate pitches in the meadow, with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The swing and the stream were a hit for the kids, and lovely walks from the campsite. The facilities were basic, but fine for our needs and perfectly clean. Thank you for sharing your lovely farm.

Weekend Trip to The T Barn

The campsite is small but very beautiful. We felt very comfortable. It has a beautiful walk through the forest and the facilities are good.

I loved the simplicity and comfort at the same time. General vibe on the campsite. Piping hot showers, lovely compost toilets. Scenic wash corner & the location & fire pits!

Weekend Trip to Wytch Wood Camping

Elise has set up a real gem in Wytch Wood Camping. Under the most gorgeous tall trees in the woodland, we had the best nights sleep in ages, awakened only by the uplifting calls of over 20 different species of birds! We were lucky with the weather - but honestly even if not I’m sure it would have still been as lovely. There is a compost loo per site, wonderfully clean hot showers, a washing up area, drinking water, honesty shop, wood-fire pizzas over the weekend, horses, sheep and even a car hill battle on the hills surrounding the site. We made the trip into Frome for the monthly market, and managed to sneak in a trip to Durdle Door. This was a lovely base and special trip for us, thank you Elise! We will be back!

Nice and quiet place. A lot to do around the area aswell and really welcoming host!

Weekend Trip to Tree Tops and Train Tracks

Stayed 3 nights here and it was perfect. Hosts were amazing! Communal area was nice with the fire pit and fridge for all to use really came in handy! Pembrokeshire is nice and plenty to do! Highly recommend.

My young nephew and I had a great time camping on the Hegdehog pitch of the Treetops and Traintracks site. Coinciding with some fine, sunny days, we trundled in, out and about on our bicycles and found Sebastian's welcome a hearty warm one 😀 The site is lovingly and neatly kept, offering around ten pitches and well-serviced toilets and showers (my nephew liked the train carriage-themed facilities!). The modest size was congenial for sharing stories and tios with ither campers, whilst avoiding the noise and insitutionalisation which comes with larger scale operations. My nephew and I were pleased out fire-starting skills were strong enough to barbecue our dinner and were grateful for the bonus teatime treats on offer, and the extra blanket! Currently a site for the self-sustaining camper (no standard charging or electric hook up points) makes this is simply special 😀 Good luck with your ongoing developments and growing family! Pridie and James Thank you. What a beautiful campsite you have built. So much space, privacy and a wonderful experience from start to finish. So many other campsites would have crammed in extra pitches, but there were a max of 6 pitches in a whole field. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back. Well done - you are exactly the sort of site that "coolcamping", when it started, was all about - off the beaten track, unspoilt and run by genuine, lovely people. J&S.

Weekend Trip to Nant Bach Retreat

Coed Obry

Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).
